My family and I have been there many times and everything is always wonderful. Yummy coffee, fresh, delicious, innovative menu. Their French toast is amazing, their omelettes are huge and very filling, and their eggs benedict are superior to any place around. The only constructive criticism I could give is that the servers seat you and get you drinks right away but then you have to remind them your there waiting to put in your food order. Other than that it’s easily the best place for breakfast.

My fiancé and I just ate here. We ordered the specials: 3 egg Shepard’s pie omelet and the apple fritter french toast. One word — AMAZING. Stir the Pot has the best breakfast in Connecticut, quite possibly the world. It’s a shame I can only give it 5 stars.

A great little spot in a great little town! Stopped in for breakfast last Saturday on our way to Newport for the weekend. i’m not really a breakfast person but my honey was starving and I was gonna be there soon too so we stopped in. I had the spinach popovers, they were served with a lovely green salad and slice of lemon. Balsamic glaze was a great touch on these tasty little popovers. They were light and cooked perfectly. I couldn’t quite finish but took the last one to go and ate it later in the car! My boyfriend had his favorite bacon egg and cheese on a croissant and scarfed it right down. Service was wonderful and very friendly and prompt. They also had a nice choice of hot sauces for me as well. Will return again soon!

Dont let the humble exterior fool you!!! I live 3 minutes away and had driven by many times and never gone. Puzzled by great Unilocal reviews, my fiancé and I ventured in hesitantly. But we discovered the food was amazing! I was expecting basic hash and bacon with scrambled eggs. What I got was: A light delicious waffle with cheesecake crumbles, strawberries, fresh made cream and honey-infused butter. Spinach popovers with a light egg center and puffy crispy exterior, adorned with balsamic drizzle. An omelette stuffed with goat cheese and shrimp! An omelette filled with spanish chorizo sausage, blended with cajun spices and peppers, topped with a poached egg! It was **several levels** above what I was expecting. I have already been back and am excited to return. Oh, also, the waitstaff appear to be local kids and people who are very friendly. There appeared to be lots of locals who frequent this place. Come early(ie, 9AM) on weekends to avoid the brunch crowds!(see my photos too)

Perfect little breakfast spot so close to home. Great hash and home fries. Gets busy on the weekends, but the weekend specials are worth the wait.

So good! Had the waffle and home fries. They were excellent and the waitress made sure my coffee cup was never empty. 5 stars for service, good quality, and cleanliness. Complements to the chef and the waitress.

Since trying Stir The Pot a little over a year ago this has become our go-to breakfast spot. Previously we had gone to At The Dam and then Country Kitchen. This blows them both out of the water. Country Kitchen is extremely popular and you’re often stuck waiting in long lines to get in on the weekend, not to mention inside is cramped and you feel like other guests are right on top of you, especially when they have screaming kids. Not so with Stir The Pot. Not only do they have a lot more real estate for you to stretch out, but their food is fantastic. I absolutely LOVE their waffles, best damned waffle I’ve ever had. Their prices are reasonable and every weekend the cooks are doing something new with flavored specials(mmmm, Apple Pie Waffle, delicious!) I highly recommend Stir The Pot for breakfast.

Best sausage, egg and cheese(and onions) on a croissant EVER. If you’re a bre’fast sandwich fan, eat here. Tasty, buttery, large. The menu listed many other options, some of which weren’t very well described, however, with a staff as personable and service-oriented as at Stir the Pot, a menu item inquiry is no pain. I popped in on a Friday morning, and the café was very busy with what seemed like a local, regular crowd. With just two servers working at that time, it took a bit longer than I expected to get a menu… coffee…give my order. All was well, though; small-town, friendly service and a delightfully greasy(i.e. just right) breakfast sandwich, which was made FAST(a surprise, given the number of customers present.)

My family and I ate there this past weekend. We had Cannoli Pancakes, Eggs Benedict, and plain pancakes. Everything was great and the whole meal cost just a little over $ 30 for all three meals. The place itself looks and feels like a unassuming country dinner and the cooks there whip out an amazing breakfast. Definite worth the trip or a stop if you are in the area.

Favorite brunch spot in the area. Quick delicious food with plenty of options on the regular menu and weeklyish specials without an inflated price tag. No frills diner is cute with some kitch and truly lovely wait staff. Gluten free menu options available include eggs, homefries, gluten free toast, and pancakes!

Yay! We have found our new go-to breakfast spot! Stir The Pot truly delivered for fast, friendly, fresh food. My man and I stopped in for breakfast, after reading some pretty good Unilocal reviews– SO glad that we did. We walked in a little before 9 a.m. on a Saturday and there was plenty of seating to be found. We were told by the friendly man at the register(the owner perhaps?) to sit wherever we like and were quickly offered hot coffee or juice. We got two hot coffees, nice and flavorful, not too strong or too weak. We were presented with a regular menu and a «specials» menu. The specials menu had adorable Easter themed items, and the wait staff backed it up with super cute bunny ears. We both chose something off that menu because they seemed too good to pass up– I got the fresh blackberry pancakes with home-made blackberry syrup and he got the carrot cake waffle with cream cheese icing drizzle. We also shared a side of corned beef hash(freshly made in house). YUM! I cannot say this enough– the food was so so so so good. It was fresh, hot, and DIFFERENT! I was absolutely pleased. The pancakes were plump, juicy and fluffy and the syrup was not too sweet– the carrot cake waffle was a slice of heaven, sweet, unbelievably flavorful, and tender! The has was good– we would have loved bigger chunks of corned beef, but we loved the crispy bits and the good flavor. There were so many things on their traditional menu that we really wanted to try– so we will most certainly be back. It’s so refreshing to find an affordable breakfast spot that actually sells some interesting, different choices! Bravo Stir The Pot!

This place is okay. The home-fries are not flavorful, rather dry and tough. The coffee is okay but the inexpensive Green Mountain I brew at home is much better. The eggs, ordered over easy, were a little greasy and the bacon was fatty but not all fat. The service was similar to an unfriendly diner. This is an acceptable alternative when Country Kitchen is closed but will never be a first choice. Maybe we hit them on a bad day and they won’t be so unfriendly next time. I’ll update when I go back.

Ate at Stir the Pot twice last weekend. This is a solid little family restaurant, in an area virtually devoid of decent food,(unless you like franchises. Burger King or Cracker Barrel tonight?) The food is priced fairly, portions are good. The menu is a little confusing for me, not exactly the standard diner fare, but the food is good. My GF had eggs benedict twice, and I went for a bacon omelette one day and a spicy pulled pork omelette another. All of it was really good! It’s a real shame they don’t serve dinner, we’d eat there more often! All said and done, a solid 4 stars!

Combine good food, friendly service, and the power of television and you have a very interesting place. Apparently NBC30 ran a profile on Stir the Pot a short time ago, and their Sunday breakfast crowd quadrupled! I stopped for lunch today and had a very good cup of their«Naughty Chili» for $ 3.95 — crowned with a sprinkle of cheese and a drizzle of hot sauce. It was very good indeed. I also ordered a $ 5.95 house salad and was blown away by it’s immense size –it looked like a serving platter. Salad was great– lettuce, field greens, lots of diced fresh tomatoes, carmelized onions, marinated peppers, a little cheese and some olive slices. I was expecting a regulation sized salad bowl so I was very pleasantly surprise by this behemoth. My server was sweet, pleasant, and efficient. A real joy to interact with. The interior of the restaurant is bright and cheery with lots of lighting, royal blue booths and chairs, and a white ceramic tile floor. A real sweet place indeed!
