We used to live closer to this Charlie Brown’s but we still come back for special occasions. The salad bar is the best one you’ll ever come across. They have great lunch specials. They redid the décor a few years ago and it’s now outstanding… beautiful photos of different awesome NJ spots and attractions. Love this place!

Went to Charlie Browns for lunch. My wife ordered the all you eat ribs, I ordered a hamburger with salad bar. Ribs were overdone. Hamburger was brought out with a cold roll.(pulled out of freezer ?) Sent back hamburger, they put butter on roll and fried it on the grill.(terrible taste). Took 25 minutes to get our initial meal before it was brought to table. They should do a much better job. Restaurant was not busy, so that was not an excuse.

Charlie Browns has reduced itself to a Shoneys level. The first time in ten years I actually asked for steak sauce. Dishes were dirty, staff very slow. I would not recommend at all, unless you like Shoney’s!!!

Worst burger I ever had. It was awful! The soda was also bad. They need to clean the dispensing gun. The sale bar is ok. Nothing great but average. $ 3.99 if an add on. The staff is nice & eager to please.

Bar service is the worst I’ve ever seen. The fat female bartender is horrendous. Just talks and ignores everyone. Two time in a row, no utensils. The food is decent. But overall I can’t give it a good rating because of the bar staff, just terrible.

I will start off by saying that the second star is ONLY because our server, Melissa, was phenomenal. If it weren’t for her, this would be an entirely scathing review. I came with my grandparents and parents. Both of my grandparents use walking assistance devices(a walker and a cane), so going out is a big deal. We arrived and the hostess said it would be about a 20 minute wait for a party of 5, so we decided to wait. 45 minutes later, we were still waiting for a table! The manager was trying to help the hostess, but both were very mean when we asked about the status of our table. The manager said«I would put you at a hightop by the bar right away, but you have these guys with you» gesturing to my grandparents and their walking assistance devices. I’m sorry, but regardless of what you do for your profession, or where you are, it is disgusting to speak to or about older people that way! At this point, I was ready to walk out. They claimed that a table was about to be ready and the guests had already paid and were just sitting there. I told them that their behavior was disgusting and furthermore I have worked in food service and have had to nicely ask patrons to leave if there is a wait for the table and I’ve been in a restaurant and been nicely told that there was a group waiting for our table– they could do the same to get us seated. As I head for the door, magically a table opened up. As we sat down, we were in a bad mood, but again, our server Melissa, was amazing. She was kind and funny and professional. Our orders came out right and she helped us get out by the time we needed to. The food was fine, nothing special. On the way out, the hostess and manager were at the front chatting and couldn’t even say goodbye– a courtesy you would get a applebees or any other chain! When I said goodbye, the manager walked away without saying a word and the hostess gave a curt and attitude filled«bu-bye». I will not recommend this place to anyone. The manager was so rude it was disgusting and the hostess was incompetent at best and following in her managers rude footsteps at worst.

This was one of the first restaurants we ate at when we moved into the area, what a disappointment. As we were talking to the bartender she mentioned they had closed for awhile and reopened — they should have stayed closed. Who knew the salad bar was still in existence. The food was some what edible but not by much. I know the app sampler was better than our main course but even that was over cooked, over fried«things» of food. Here’s a hint. When everything starts tasting like each other and tastes the same you know you are in trouble.

First visit to this location and compared to the others, you can obviously tell that not only is it newer, but also more modern. It’s definitely more aesthetically pleasing with the rich/dark walls/ceilings(green, maroon, tan, etc), recess lights, the ceiling wasn’t one flat piece of sheet rock, but almost 3D with curves, and large pictures on walls, of scenic/country views. Unique. At first glance it seems small, with the bar to the left when you walk in, and the main seating area to the right, but we noticed there is additional seating throughout. Either around corners(I didn’t meander around too much), or covered behind doors. Maybe private areas for big parties? So that’s kind of cool. The salad bar is right in your view as you walk in. At first that kind of turned me off — I guess I want food to be away from the entrance where people are coming and going all day long. But, the salad bar here looks pretty clean, and the glass they use to surround the area is lower than most, so while it could be hard to reach over to get the salad toppings — at times I had to crane my neck or really crouch down, it’s likely that people are breathing or coughing directly onto the food. Service was great — I forgot our waiter’s name but he was young, friendly, and attentive. Pleasant smiles all around. The food was kind of meh: Meatloaf — small cut up pieces, looked very dark brown and dry. My dad didn’t like the sauce on top. Duchess cut prime rib — A hearty piece, but so much fat throughout, I had to cut around it a lot. I also requested medium rare, but got medium instead. Not a rich ruby pink, bit very pale pink, light brown borderline. Not melt in your mouth tender. Mashed potatoes were pretty good! I was surprised it wasn’t overwhelmingly salty, buttery or creamy. I actually tasted the potato itself! When we got our to-go containers, it wasn’t those flimsy aluminum ones, but sturdy plastic with lids that clipped on easily. Spacious parking lot, and manicured lawns throughout. Plenty of other stores in the same shopping area.

Inside well taken car of. Nice bar etc. Food however was poor. Steak was well. I ordered med rare. Same for my friends. Very thin cut of meat. Salad bar was well taken care of but let’s be honest shall we: if you go to a steak house and the steak is just terrible which ours was the meal is downer

Best thing about charlie browns is their salad bar. Food is decent but not worth planning a Saturday night around. May be a good place to catch a football game at the bar but other than that, not much of a crowd pleaser in my opinion. Been there once two years ago. Unimpressive overall.

Se we went to Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse for Father’s Day. My Dad’s choice. Four of us had special requests to our meal’s and they all came out perfect! I was really impressed because when you start deviating, especially on a holiday when they are busy, I expect something to go wrong. The waitress was really nice and professional. The salmon was pretty good considering it is a steak house and that’s usually not the place to expect good fish. This was my 3rd time there, the last time was New Year’s eve and that was a very nice meal as well.

Recently came back to Charlie Brown’s, because we received a coupon in the mail. Reluctantly, we decided to give the restaurant another chance because its location was ideal to our plans for the evening. We were seated immediately by a friendly hostess at the door. Our server was very pleasant and all smiles as well. Food was served fast, hot, and was decent. Was provided free refills without having to ask. Ultimately though, I’m just not sure if I’m going to be willing to spend a little more here, than compared to the other local commercial chains. But if I receive additional coupons, I’ll be back!

About what you’d expect from a chain — nothing breath-taking but then again nothing horrible. Friendly staff although there were a few«oops» with our group of 7 — forgotten items, had to wait for them to brew coffee(what?). And a pet peeve of mine — the soups, as far as I could tell, weren’t made fresh on-site.

Start with positive: service was good. That’s it. Salad was cold, bland and chewy. Mushrooms thick and blah. Lettuce was the big push, Boring. Ordered the horseradish crusted prime rib. Asked in advance about it, said horseradish sauce mixed with horseradish sounded good. however showed up with nearly ½ inch think layer of mush. Not cooked with it just layered on top. Sent back for regular prime rib. Really plain. Juicy meat flavor, but no spices. Boring. Baked potato tasted re-cooked, and was small but too boring to finish. 1 ½ stars

Had a great piece of primed rib with garlic mashed. My server was great, it is a shame the one in Hamilton closed. Susan had the 3course special garlic crusted steak, shrimp garlic mashed and a bottle of pinot noir.

I admit we went in there expecting to be disappointed(the restaurant was fairly empty at 6pm on a Friday), but we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! I had the prime rib which was very tasty and juicy. Hubby had the chicken caprese sandwich and he loved it(he’s the critical one). Will definitely go back!
