Ate here 2 times on the way home from the beach. Overall the food was okay, but my niece who had tartar sauce in a plastic container given to her, noticed that the server after picking up our plates, did NOT discard the tartar sauce, she just returned it to the refrigerator. My niece did not open the container of tartar sauce, but it should have been thrown out NOT given to the next person which I’m sure it was. Anyone could have tampered with it, and I believe it is a health code violation. I felt a little sick to my stomach on the way home wondering if the tartar sauce I had eaten may have had the HIV virus in it. How can I have been sure someone didn’t stick their finger into the tartar sauce I had eaten! Ugh… it makes me nauseous just thinking about it. The Health Board, or whomever is responsible for inspecting restaurants should visit this place. I will never return to this place, and I would have given it a ZERO rating if I had the option.

Delicious! I had the lobster roll with mayo(also offered naked). The mayo was light and added to the fresh, overflowing lobster roll. The cole slaw and French fries were perfect, too. Nothing greasy — everything was cooked to perfection. Also had the clam chowder — it was hot, thick and very flavorful. Prices were a bargain and the atmosphere was clean and inviting. Worth the trip!

Dining here = losing your lunch. I wish I could say I was being figurative about it. Everything tasted fine but not a few hours later when I had to taste it again. The rest of my party was fine though. Also they were out of so many things and didn’t have marina sauce for their mozzarella sticks. Odd.

Not bad food for good prices. We go here on occasion for seafood. But it’s not my favorite place to eat in the area. They have some outdoor and inside seating. The staff have always been friendly.

Not a bad little place. Out of all the seafood restaurant choices you have on that road I’d definitely still to bill’s.

We had the Captains Platter, some of the worst fried seafood we’ve ever had. The clams were unbattered and soggy, the fish and shrimp were over battered and the scallops were also unbattered and over cooked. The frozen French fries were the best part of the meal.

I was visiting my mother in law from NYC, and decided to venture off and look for amazing seafood places. This place is great. Very clean. Good wait staff. Top shelf liquor. Takes credit cards. In door and out door seating. The food is fresh and priced right. They have a large screen TV and daily specials. Only draw back is if you’re used to heavy seasoned seafood this isn’t the place for you. Lastly, free parking. I recommend this place. Also they have kids menus and high chairs– and can accommodate large parties.

What happened to the whole belly fried clam? I remember when the bellies were bigger than a quarter(and has a fixed price) Most places today serve tiny, dime size, flavorless pieces of crap. There was a glimmer of hope a couple of months ago when I went to Barnacle Bills in The Ham and they were just like I remember. I went back tonight and they might as well have been clam strips. UPDATE Rather than address my complaint about their whole belly clams shrinking significantly once the tourist season rolled around, Barnacle Bill’s deleted my complaint on Facebook. Too bad they can’t delete comments in the«review» section & Unilocal.Guess I’ll be moving on.

We have had the fish and chips many times from here. It is consistently delicious. It’s an enormous portion and great value. Our kids always enjoy the chicken and fries. The oil never seems dirty. Love that they added a bar so I can have a beer while I wait for our take out.

I paid $ 8.99 for a bacon cheeseburger that was smaller than a .99 cent burger at McDonald’s. The burger was less than a ¼ lb, and it was frozen for sure. Stay away!

Awful! We stopped in on Saturday afternoon, only one other customer at the time, that should have been our first clue. I ordered the clam chowder and a lobster roll, clam chowder was adequate, but not homemade. Lobster roll was lousy. The toasted New England style hot dog roll was burnt in spots and soggy in others, the lobster meat was minced, with too much mayo. My wife ordered fried scallop & clam plate. Scallops were rubbery and overcooked, clams were terrible. Probably half of the batter coating had fallen off before plated. The young server was great. She was friendly and attentive. In an area with a lot of competition of seafood restaurants, if your running a «clam shack» type of business you have to know how to get the seafood right!

We went there today. Easter Sunday. Open reg hours. Owners gave staff day off and worked for them. That was a nice gesture. The food was awesome very fresh. We had whole belly clam plate. Couldn’t finish but did eat all the clams. Everything was made to order. so be prepared to wait for it. But well worth it. We also had clam cakes and chowder full of clams both. Homemade Kale soup and homemade stuffies. There was nothing wrong at all. A 10 all around. We also had a lg order of homemade onion rings. So good i almost got another order but was full. Well worth the price. Can’t wait to go again.

Awesome fish and chips! There was a ton of food and at a great price. I loved the cole slaw and wished for a bigger portion! I will be back there. I’d love to try the chowder next time.

Surprisingly good! Mom and I stopped here for quick seafood fix. Doesn’t look like much from road but delicious chowder and lobster BLT was excellent.

This small seafood restaurant was a big disappointment. We decided to eat on the picnic tables outside. i ordered chowder and it was cold. My husband ordered clams that smelled funny and tasted BAD! After only eating half my cold chowder and 2 bad clams we thought we would just throw away our meals and just not come back but we had to go BACK inside because they didn’t even have barrels outside. Upon doing this, the counter girl asked us how our meals were. My husband(very quietly) said«I think your clams may be bad, I only ate 2 of them but clearly they are not fresh clams. All she said was«I’m sorry to hear that» And continued taking orders. Never asked if we wanted anything else or if she could do anything for us. Very disappointed !!! We will not go back.

Nothing fancy but was nicely remodeled with the new owners. If you get fish and chips the small order has 2 large pieces of fish so fresh with a crunchy batter crust! Ask for the fried green pepper rings for a different treat they’re so good and the chowder is thick and rich and delish. I don’t think you will be disappointed!

The people are REALLYNICE, but the seafood, which is what I had, was not. One dish(Stuffed crab, I think) was cold(prob. microwaved) though quite tasty. Steamed — clams — there were a ton, but they were quite gritty, and must not have been cooked correctly as it was really hard to get the skin off the syphon(am I using the right vocabulary?). Also I am not convinced that the butter was real butter. The grapenut pudding had TONS of grapenut so you really did not have a pudding effect, and the egg in the pudding was overcooked. I really wanted to like this place, but would need to see a better review before I try it again. Perhaps the Portuguese food is better?

Barnacle Bill’s has been around a LONG time here, but I have never visited it in my 27 years here. It was just closed and«remodeled» and has new owners. I thought now was the time to give it a whirl. The paper said it had an eat in area and a loungs area. Once inside, there was no lounge area and also no beer or liquor. I should have left right then and there, but again, wanted to give it a try. We were seated promptly by the cutest nicest waitress ever experienced. However, that is all the goodness I can muster for this establishment. On a full remodel, I expect cleanliness, fresh paint, floors etc. None of this was there. We were seated next to the corridor that led to the restrooms. All one could smell was air freshener that was trying, but not succeeding to mask the urnie smell that was embedded into the tiles. The toilets had messy caulking around the edges. FAIL! We ordered the stuffed quahog, whole belly fried clams and the friend shrimp. The quahogs came right away steaming and piping hot… FROMTHEMICROWAVE! They were soggy and tastless, except from the occaisional rye seeds that were in there form the bread they were made for. .FAIL! Our food came promptly after. The fried clams were sparce. for $ 18.00 I was expecting a portion akin to the other local restaurants. There were 12 clams scattered upon a bed of french fries that were soggy. The clams were rubbery and overcooked. They were so rubbery, I ate 5 of them and gave up. The coleslaw was horrible, but crispy. …FAIL. My wife’s shrimp looked actually OK, except they used tempura batter instead of traditional fry mix. They were WAY undercooked! So undercooked that the batter fell apart as soon as they were touched with a fork. FAIL! Total check that I wished I had not spent…$ 56.80 for NOTHING! I usually find something good about every restaurant I visit, but the only thing apparent here was that the waitress was so sweet and nice and she was battling an uphill fight. I would not reccommend this restaurant to anyone. It is th emorning after and I still have a lump in my belly and feel horrible inside. I cannot wait until this passes through so to speak. B Bills, you may have new owners, but for your own sake, close down for anothe rweek or so, get those bathrooms cleaned up, do a press release about NO lounge area or beer and wine, and get the food down so it is edible. Again, I should have done what I did for the past 27 years and kept passing this one by. You should also!

YUM! We have found our new go-to place for lunch when leaving the Cape! Husband and I both got clam strip plates, which come with fries. SO good! I have had more than my fair share of clam strips on the Cape, and i can honestly say these are some of the best I’ve tried. Unlike other reviewers, I thought the batter was a perfect consistency and even had a nice lil bite to it. The fries were in the same batter and delicious! Food: A Value: A+(very generous portion for only $ 5? Maybe I’ve been in NYC too long, but we were very pleasantly surprised) Service: A–(friendly, if not a bit slow moving) Ambiance: C(it is what it is. a clam SHACK. don’t expect linens and sparkling bathrooms) In all fairness, we came here late Sunday afternoon in the off-season, so I can’t speak to peak-hour service. Do yourself a favor and order food to go. It’s served hot enough to survive a car ride over to the canal.
