I heard the chicken salad was divine. I ordered a tossed salad and a scoop of chicken salad. The greens were fresh. The chicken salad was drowning in mayo. Booooo… couldn’t enjoy my lunch. 13+ for a large scoop with greens.

Eaten at dives from NYC to Seattle and every Midwest city in between — best corned beef hash I have ever been served. No frills, no drama no nothing added. Just a perfectly cooked slab of corned beef with the perfect mix of the basics to finish it off. You can see the grain of the beef.

I simply cannot say enough good things about this place. I went there before a beach day with several children. It was one of maybe 2 breakfast joints in the area. I thought we were going to get screwed because it is a the Cape and it was the summer time AND there aren’t many choices in the area. The service was fast and friendly. LOVE the menu. The waitresses were very attentive. UNLIKE so many ripoff Cape breakfast dives, this place far surpassed my expectations. The A/C was the perfect temperature thank god!(I can’t stand having to sit in a warm swampy restaurant with my butt sticking to a wooden seat!) To top it off: myself and 3 kids ate like kings for approximately $ 30! AWESOMEFOOD, FASTSERVICE, ANDTHEPRICESCAN’T BEBEBEAT!

The food(breakfast) is fine, the service is fine — you won’t regret it but you won’t remember it. What you will remember is that this place is shabby, cramped, and uncomfortable, with tables and chairs crammed into what was clearly once someone’s front room, and maybe should have stayed that way. This can be a real bummer, even in the off season.

Best Breakfast place on the Cape! We go to the Cape every year and always make sure to stop at the 6A Café at least once for breakfast. The food is very good, priced well, and the staff is very nice. We have two young boys and they have a train that goes around the seating area, which the boys love. It’s a pretty small place, but you don’t feel crammed and you are never rushed out.

Pros: food average but gets the job done Reasonable prices Great little train that distracts toddlers so you can feed them Cons: ambiance could use some work Décor is dated.

Perfect for a greasy spoon breakfast. Usually busy on weekend mornings but worth the wait if you’re looking for a dive style breakfast with good food.

Wandered here on a whim after spending a few days in the area, not knowing what to expect. When we entered, I was shocked to see how small this restaurant was. Nothing exciting or out of the ordinary, but the food was pretty decent. The waitress was helpful and we didn’t wait too long for our meals. This establishment offers a range of breakfast items as well as lunch. I decided on the fish tacos(a special) which were packed with fish, although a little heavy handed with the chipotle sauce(could have done without). What I was bummed about was the choice of sides that came with the tacos, perhaps tortilla chips and salsa, side salad or rice? Instead I was offered potato salad, fries or a bag of Cape Cod potato chips. Although I did not partake, they do offer mimosas, wine and a small beer selection which is a perk. If I do come back, I would definitely try the breakfast.

Well, this time I won breakfast and my wife was the big loser. I had eggs over cornbread with a hollandaise sauce… delicious. I really wanted biscuits and gravy, but I was told it was a special and there was no effort made to see if it could be done for me. Oh well, what I got was really good. My wife started off by asking if they had real maple syrup. We got a yes, but what she was served was definitely corn syrup. It also didn’t help that the french toast looked like it was made with wonder bread and was under cooked. If you want french toast and real maple syrup, don’t go here.

Stopped here starving for lunch and was glad they were still serving breakfast. As noted in other reviews the place is very small. The kind of diner where you are inclined to whisper at your table or surely the whole place will hear you. It’s like you are sitting in someone’s house. I think I’d play some oldies music and not make it so sleepy. Otherwise, the food and service is good. I had a special Portuguese omelette and asked them to serve it in a wrap which they gladly did. My daughter had a BLT and you could tell all the ingredients were high quality. If the town is called Sandwich you’d think you wouldn’t have a hard time finding food but on 6A there’s not a lot of choices. Glad I stopped here.

OK all you folks heading up to the Cape or coming back home… STOPHERE!!! this Café is simply a must do. Great service, and deliciously prepared food. Simple and satisfying, why? because it’s run and maintained by a family, been there since the 50’s(I believe), and there is a heart and soul in this place. Lord only knows we need more of this in our world. In honor of passing the cranberry bogs on Route 6A, which brought to anticipating being with my family in November for thanksgiving… I had the Cranberry Bog wrap… YUMMY! YUMYUMMY! Can’t wait to get back up to the Cape and will definitely make this an annual stop. And the prices are just right… heck i’d pay anything to sit in comfort with family… wouldn’t you?

This place is an awesome towny breakfast joint that has the delicious aroma of bacon eggs and pancakes. In a town known for its tourism its great to find gems like this where you feel like one of the gang right when you sit down. The service was on their game the morning I went! Coffee was fresh and bottomless, the food came out fast and hit the spot. I cheated on my veganess when I went only because the crabcakes were too good to pass up! I thought getting some local seafood was an appropriate exception to the rules, well worth it too! I will be returning here this weekend for sure!

Food is good, clean place. The kitchen is wide open and you can watch the food prep. My problem is that the cooks eat and drink while they are preparing orders and keep their plates/cups right on the prep counters with ingredient bins. This is unprofessional and a health code violation. Cooks should also be wearing gloves when handling raw foods. I saw no gloves and no hand washing between preps.

Excellent breakfast. We stopped in on our way out of town this morning and had a great breakfast. The breakfast sausages were a little unusual. They tasted a little like a bratwurst and my family devoured them! We’ll be back!

We stopped in here during a family road trip based on the other Unilocal reviews. The staff were lovely and very accomodating of my starving youngsters. They even let the kids start the train up whenever they wanted. My son was entranced. The entire place is tiny, but cute and very clean. The ladies room was itty bitty, but again, clean and functional. For food, I had the clam chowder in the bread bowl. It was nice and thick, tender clams and big chunks of potato in a freshly baked roll. I’m not sure if it was baked on premesis or at one of the bakeries nearby(we passed several in our drive), but in either case it hadn’t been sitting around at all. My husband had the bacon cheesebuger with fries. The fries were a cross between steak fries and battered shoestring fries. When hot and fresh they were delicious. The leftovers got soft very quickly, but the kids didn’t seem to mind. The kids had chicken tenders and hot dog platter(so unique, I know). Very standard and delicious. Overall, all our food came out piping hot from the griddle/fryer and was filling. The train was a huge plus to entertain the kids, so Daddy and Mommy actually got to eat for once! If you’re in the area, check out this little gem of a diner.

Stopped by here this morning with the girlfriend. We randomly went driving down 6A and found this little place. first impression is friendly and a fun place to be, they have a train that goes around the ceiling of the restaurant. Awesome if it was working but I like the idea I got the sweet Caroline special which was 1 egg caramelized onions cheese(I subbed smoked Gouda because I am in love with that cheese and if any place has it, I have to get it) on a Portuguese roll with home fries. Overall great flavor the onions could have been more caramelized but i am nit picking, home fries were very well seasoned My girlfriend got the cheeseburger omelet, after craving a cheeseburger and breakfast this was a pleasant surprise to see on a menu, she said it was good but to many onions, they were easy to eat around. Overall a good little place that I would go to again if I’m in the area, I love the open kitchen concept and how that place was so small and the servers were very friendly. I give it three stars but I’m going to give 6A one more just because they have smoked Gouda…
