Sherry J’s Homestyle cooking is just ten minutes from the arch. She just reopened today in a brand new location with lots of seating. She’s open 7 days a week from 6:30am to 8pm and breakfast is served all day. One of the people in my party ordered the veggie omelette with a pancake and raved about both items. She said the pancake was one of the lightest and fluffiest she’s ever had. Two of us ordered the fried chicken. The fried chicken was hot and fresh with a crispy crust, ample seasoning, and the juiciest meat. Sherry J’s sweet potatoes just might be my favorite thing. They are tender and have just enough creamy marshmallow to compliment the sweetness. Her macaroni and cheese is smooth and creamy. She makes an old fashioned style flat pancake like cornbread that accompanies many of the meals. The turkey wing looked amazing too. I might need to try that next time. One thing is for sure. You will not leave hungry! Please don’t miss Sherry J’s Homestyle Cooking in Washington Park. It’s right off Highway 64 and you’ll be so glad you made the trip to try it. YUM!

from the road it looks like a mobile home with a deck added on. the humble exterior is but a shell. the food offered up here is GREAT. the staff is super cool and you can taste the love in the food. «home style cooking» or maybe«soul food» i dunno. it taste like somebody’s auntie and grandma back in the kitchen know how to make perfect picnic food. you can get it to go if need be. breakfast too.
