Another good spot to watch a game, great pizza and fantastic prices. My girlfriend and I had about 7 or 8 drinks, a large pizza and the bill was 60 bucks. Great place, would definitely recommend to anyone.

Great place for pizza and fries(man, that dipping sauce is addictive). True locals bar, but doesn’t have that angry townie feel about it. Try to get Mara to wait on you. She’s super friendly.

Best bar in the Rutherford area. Food is always reliable. Bartenders are great and you can’t beat the servers. In all my years, I look forward to return visits to the Park Tavern and tonight was no exception. Meeting old friends and toasting the passing of country legend Merle Haggard was very special. Thank you Park Tavern and we miss you Merle Haggard.

I have been going to the park tavern since before I was born. The best pizzeria around.

This place is known for their bar pies and we have yet to have a bad experience. Today I got the grilled chicken salad with extra mozzarella cheese. For $ 10 you get a big salad. Salad was filling but pretty standard(iceberg, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions). I requested the mozz. Everything came out fast and tasted great. Pricing is very fair. Only thing that is strange is they don’t have happy hour. Happy hour at this place would be icing on the cake.

Park Tavern is a good local spot. The bar on weekends gets a little over crowded, but they have spacing for the restaurant section in the back. They have very good pizza! They make it right there and its delicious! I loved their bacon pie.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. It is a great local spot where the prices are average, the food is great and the atmosphere is relaxed. They have a great selection of beer and their alcohol mixes are strong! Some of their bar food is average(burger, mozzarella sticks, wings) but their more«specialty» food is amazing(mussels, pizza, pasta, steak). The place is a nice size with a large circular bar in the middle with seats going around the whole thing. There are high bar tables all along with wall as well. There is a back dining area too, that I have never been in. The bartenders are great, drinks are on point. Even when they are busy, I have never had to wait long. If you want food while sitting at the bar, they send over a waitress to take your order. You will have two different bills(bar and food) which I wish could be combined into one but not the end of the world. All and all, Park Tavern is a great place to check out.

This is a great pizza and has been for 40 years. The place is not fancy, the menu is not extensive but if you are looking for Pizza and a fresh anti pasta salad it is the place to go. This time we added to stuffed artichoke which is huge and has a great flavor. Perfect for catching up with friends and family as the back dining rooms are most conducive to conversation. The wait staff is adequate but are not overly attentive; the service is more than adequate for a table of 2, 6, or 12

My kinda place, maybe not yours but my kinda place. Im a traveling salesman and its seems like a place like the New York Tavern(located in NJ just like the NY Jets/Giants — poor NJ) is just what I was in the mood for. It’s in the nice, quaint part of town right next to RR station, you can feel the history. Lots of character, TV’s in view anywhere you sit, local non-chain waitresses/bartenders so the place feels real«local-like», neat full circle bottle beaten wood bar with a fish tank, music and local conversations in the background to listen in on. You can choose to chime in I think without a problem. I chose to be friendly but quite and to myself. I had the meatball parm sub(I’m used to calling it a hero and in Philly it’s called a hoagie) with side salad. MB sub was very good with lots of meatballs and cheese(sorry nobody can beat my Mom’s). Side salad was bigger than expected. I wish I tried the pizza, it looked excellent but I was only one. Next time. Very typical local bar with a mix of hard working people. I can’t tell but of course since it’s a local bar, there’s a few in there not working. Everyone knows you’re not a regular and you will get that initial stare and 3 second judgement. Then it’s business as usual. I’m sick of junk food places and higher end eateries have great over priced food with no character unless you are with family or friends. Plus it’s really not right to exploit the companies expense account. I do treat myself of course but if it were my personal money, I would be using coupons. First world problems, right. My first review… big woop, woop!

Wanted to take my wife there for her birthday for live music. I called the week before and they said they would have live music on that particular night. Get there and NO music but we got plenty of bad attitudes from the bartenders! We weren’t unruly or obnoxious. This was 1 out of 3 terrible experiences here. The Blarney Station 30 steps in the other direction doesn’t have live music but the atmosphere, food, and attitudes are way more pleasant.

Some locals told me this place was the best pizza in town. For me, it was above average for the area, but not phenomenal. We went during lunch time, so it was very quiet. The pizza ingredients sounded great, but the«fresh» mozzarella made for a watery, messy pie. Yes, it was fresh, but it needed to be pressed a little more! I will say, I was encouraged by all the cleaning that was taking place. The service was also pretty good. Nothing spectacular from our experience, but overall, a decent bar and pizza place. 4 Stars.

Walking in, I could tell that this is definitely a fave spot for locals! It’s Jan 2015. It’s wicked cold out. It’s the start of the weekend, and there was a celebration to be had. We gathered here on a Friday night for a friend’s birthday and it was already starting to get packed around 8pm. So just to say something briefly about this place, it’s split into 2 sections. There’s a dining room area if you’re looking for a nice quiet meal, say with your family, etc. And then the big azz bar area/room/side(whatever you want to call it!) The bar is literally a giant circle in the middle of the room with tables along the walls. There’s a stage in the corner for live music, and TV’s everywhere! We had a big group and were looking around to see if anyone was going to be leaving. Luckily, we were able to snag the corner/window area table for our group. The atmosphere is so awesome here. Nice mixed crowd of humans. The service gets wonky when it’s packed. I feel like our server had a hard time making her way to our table with the crowd, or kept getting flagged down by other tables and just couldn’t make it to ours for a little while. With that being said, we couldn’t find our server for a good part of the night and were left thirsty. Ended up ordering a lot of our drinks from the bar which we didn’t really mind doing any way. As far as food, DEFINITELY get pizza! We went with one of their specialty pies on the menu and even with the additional toppings, after one bite, I knew what makes their pizza amazing — it’s their sauce and cheese. They really nailed it with both. And you can never go wrong with a thin crust pie. Also, regular calamari wins over their buffalo style. Fun times are definitely going to be had if you come here with your peeps. Just don’t mind some slow table service when it’s packed. Lastly, the bathrooms are made for 1, so if you break the seal, don’t say I didn’t warn you that you’ll more than likely be waiting on a line.

Nice place to stop in and get a beer. It’s always cold and never skunky. Was sitting at the bar and at first site noticed the frost at the tap. Thought this was fake ice at first, but upon touching it nope! Real ice cold beer at a moderate price. As for the food haven’t had anything else other than their pizza. Probably some of the best pizza I have had at a bar so far. Sometimes me and my sister will go out of our way and pick up a pie from there just for the hell of it. Nice thin crust, not too shabby! Crowd seems kind of rowdy sometimes. I was at friends house in the area so we walked for a beer on New Years eve. A bearded monolith and a mother f**ker who looked like a jacked Charlie Chapplin I thought were gonna start a fight. But then again there were some other patrons egging them on so I suppose they had a right to be a little angry. Nothing super serious, just schoolyard shit. No fight broke out but be forewarned don’t go to any bar and act a fool, especially to those bigger than you. I’m a lover not a fighter and don’t egg on people that can kick my ass so I never had that problem. Other issue is the volume of the music. Live bands and loud jukebox make conversation impossible. This aside, great location near a transportation hub. Good to stop here before going or coming back from the city. Also good to be close to buses, trains, and taxis for safety reasons so you can be smart and not drink and drive. Good bar in a good area!

I Love this place! Best pizza in my area hands down! Amazing buffalo wings for a good night of watching football! Salads are huge and delicious, as well as most of the food here! Oh and the burgers are amazballs! You’ll never get skimped on the alcohol in your drink here, so beware if your driving these drinks are strong!

The pizza is great(thin crust and smooth sauce), the mussels are great and the drinks are cheap! My favorite local bar; always run into people you know if you’re from the area. They have live music some nights. The bar is awesome. It’s a huge, circular bar 360 degrees and you can sit around the entire thing. Not many bars I’ve seen like that! There’s a decent sized bar area, a separate restaurant area and a downstairs seating and bar area(for private parties). The staff is always pleasant and everything is affordable. This place has been around for as long as I remember and it’s kept up well! Located right across from the train tracks, it’s great to stop before a night out or to go for your night out!

New Park has a dam good thin crust bar pie. Nice crust and a great flavor. The service was friendly also. We also had the penne vodka and spaghetti and meat sauce. Nice sized servings and the entrees were good. Gets crowded on the the weekends. FYI: One drawback– They do not have free refills on fountain drinks. I don’t recall if it stated this on the menu, but our waitress didn’t mention it to us.
