The owner is an awesome guy I wish he was there 7/days a week… It’s right up the block from my house so it’s ultra convenient, little bit overpriced comparatively speaking. Carrier of all high end liquor and wine varieties!!!

Finding a place that will deliver fine wine is really hard to find, especially if you are out of area. I had originally called Bellport Cold Beer & Soda and they referred me to Dave at South Shore. Said he would do it, not a problem, and they were absolutely right. It couldn’t have been easier. Dave actually was the one who answered the phone, I told him how much I wanted to spend, he had recommendations for me right away, and didn’t even charge me a delivery fee! Solved my problem, easy as could be, and he is going to send me a text tomorrow so I know it was delivered. As good as it gets! Thanks Dave!

This place is what is right about small business with on-site ownership.;service and meeting the customer needs. I have been to almost every liquor store within 20 miles looking for a particular whiskey. No one carries it and when I ask the guy/girl at the front counter about it all I get is a far away stare and a «we don’t carry it» reply. I tried South Shore and the owner said we don’t carry it but I can order it for you and call when it comes in within a week. And you know what. a week later I get a call and went and picked it up at $ 3 a bottle less than I pay for it in the City. That is great business practice. He has a great selection of wine and he is extremely knowledgeable on the characteristics. He gave me recommendations for the holidays and there were spot on. The hallmark of this place is excellent service and knowledge of the products. Keep for mega stores and give me a good local store owner who cares about your business. This is the place.

This is a small liquor store. It’s located in a little«shopping center» on the corner of South Country Road and Roosevelt Boulevard(the entrance to the community I live in). I put shopping center in quotes as the building is on the small side — 50 years ago it started life as a Sinclair Gas Station. South Shore Wines expanded recently from being ¼ of the building to almost half. It’s still a small store. The owner is trying to keep a good selection of what I would call medium priced wines; on hard liquor he stocks the basics plus a selection of premium liquors. Because of the small size of the store, it does not get the price breaks of the discount chains. However, it makes up for it in convenience!!! More often than not the owner is behind the counter with his cute dog Max keeping him company. He’s always courteous and friendly.
