This store used to be a great store, and the fact that it closed down makes me sad. I loved this store. I went to it everyday(until Shop Rite opened.) I used to buy muffins, Dr. Browns soda, Flavored Rice Cakes, and more! Now that Shop Rite is opened, I went there more frequently. The only reason why I came back to Waldbaums was just to see how it was doing, when I went inside… There wasn’t many people, the bathroom was dirty, and the products were overpriced… But I still loved the store nonetheless. Now that it’s closed, might as well give it 5 stars.

Looks alot better than it did when i lived close by. I was looking for something in particular and found it right away, i did not however find Rainbow Sherbet Fruity Pebbles but i got some Mac and beef which was ok and some other stuff. Best part was the weird cashier that gave me the creeps was not there and i was in and out in 10 mins. I might have also bought new key lime Oreos, maybe

This place is really bad. I definitely would not recommend it as a grocery store. I used it more for a quick in-and-out when I needed to grab something and maybe pick up a snack. The hours(open until midnight) made it convenient. However, there have been multiple nights recently that I’ve shown up a little past 11pm and the store is already locked up and empty. The last time this happened I saw an elderly gentleman banging on the door trying to get in. I told him they must have closed early for some reason and we should go. He kept pointing at the posted hours and at his watch. He was so sad and confused! I felt awful. Then tonight I noticed they had a sign out front saying they would be closing at 11:30pm. That sign doesn’t help people who Google the hours at home, read that they’re open until 12am, and show up to an empty store. The hours need to become more consistent. Aside from the hours, the food is past its prime. I’m not kidding. Check all of the expiration dates before you buy! This has happened to me countless times over the years here and happened again tonight! I’m talking basic things with normal expiration dates — things like Triscuits. One time I had purchased humus and the expiration date was fine, but the seal had been opened and tampered with, causing the humus to harden.(Ew, so gross, I’m dying even thinking of it!!) Thankfully I noticed before taking a bite! The management always seems apologetic when I go in to return the items, but why is it happening in the first place? One time I bought granola and the expiration date was months overdue. Other times I’ve been in the store shopping and will remember to check the expiration date on an item, see it’s expired and look for one that isn’t… only to find there isn’t a single item without an expired date! There’s no excuse! Stay away! Even if you need something basic that doesn’t expire, I would still advise calling ahead to make sure they aren’t closing early that night.

This is a great local grocery. The produce is always fresh. The bakery bread is excellent — no need for a stop at a separate store. The staff are pleasant and willing to help.

Not a bad local grocery store to shop at, the produce is always fresh and the staff is always helpful. My main gripe is that they are pretty expensive. Not a bad place to do light shopping or to pick up some odds and ends to make a quick dinner.

While I typically don’t go to Waldbaum’s/A&P/Pathmark as they tend to be worse than Stop&Shop or Shoprite as they tend to be not as pleasant or as clean, pricier, and do not have as good quality of perishables, I happen to think that this Waldbaum’s is as good as Stop&Shop. After visiting the awesome Shoprite in Uniondale, my mom and I wound up stopping here on the way home as Shoprite was picked clean of red grapes, we figured that this Waldbaum’s would have red grapes. Upon entrance, we noticed that while this Waldbaum’s did not have that sparking new feeling like the Shoprite in Uniondale, we felt that it was very clean considering the foot traffic it received. We then found the red grapes easily, which were $ 3.99/lb, competitive with Stop&Shop. In addition, the quality of these grapes were very good, as they were fresh, sweet, and juicy. After picking up the grapes, we were checked out quickly by a friendly cashier. While Waldbaum’s is not my favorite market, the decent prices and cleanliness of this Waldbaum’s would compell me to do some grocery shopping here, especially considering the fact that Stop&Shop has increased it prices on some items.

I really don’t like this place. I am never able to find anything I want in the produce section. I saw some organic mixed greens and baby spinach that I wanted but unfortunately, it was frozen. I went to get some limes, and they all looked awful. Don’t try to get help either, because nobody is there to help you. I just can’t find a reason to come here.

This ain’t your typical Hempstead establishment, perhaps ’cause it’s in East Meadow. The B-52s beamed down from overhead, but they don’t accept free coupons, so my mood was dampened significantly. I lowered my head in shame and exited.

Every worker knows where everything is in the store. Pricey though!
