Quite delicious — speedy service, fresh ingredients and very tasty broth. I wish it was in my town ! I will be back when I return to Lansing

Tried this place again yesterday and was delighted to find that their broth is much improved from the last time I visited(a few months back)! The broth of the beef phở was rich and flavorful this time, portion was still extremely generous. Remember to squeeze the lime and add some Sriracha into the broth. It’s sad that their business doesn’t seem to be picking up though, with only three customers in house during lunch hours.

I come here with my family often. The food is wonderful! You can really taste the attention to detail in their food. Everything I have tried has been fresh and herbaceous! I think they have a smart approach with their menu having less verity and keeping a tight focus on quality. I must admit the service is not great. I often find myself seeking out help. Having said that it’s worth every trip!

Definitely one of my top places to enjoy phở! Not only is the phở phenomenal, the spring roll is good as well! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for big group gatherings or family dinners!

I was excited that EL got a phở restaurant. Coming from SoCal I wanted one here for when I visit. I’m vegan. I can usually get something passable anywhere – especially Vietnamese food… hello? Rice, veggies? No veggie broth phở. OK I’ll live… the spring rolls were described as «lettuce, vermicelli, bean sprouts, mint, cucumber and shrimp wrapped in a softened rice paper.» Okay I’ll have w/o shrimp. I got lettuce wrapped in rice paper. I also ordered rice. My rice was rice. Back home it’s broken rice, I’m not exactly sure what that means but it’s yum – w steamed vegetables. The server was very sweet. They need to up their game to survive.

Some of the best Phở I have ever had in East Lansing. Service was quick and friendly. Food came out within minutes, and the waitress had menus to our table within seconds. Food itself is a bit pricey, but most restaurants in downtown EL are.

I just moved to Lansing and was looking for a good phở place, but unfortunately I can say this is not it. It’s expensive, bland, and the garnishes were also not at all fresh. My advice: pass on this one. 2⁄5. wnb.

A good entry into some Vietnamese cuisine. From what I can tell this place is pretty new and still has to buff out some rough spots. Staff seemed a bit flustered and disorganized here and there, but not a deal breaker. Probably not the cheapest meal in town. If you’re any kind of phở fan you’ll have to check it out.

I’ve eaten in Vietnamese restaurants from San Francisco to Toronto and everywhere in between. I had some better than others, but can honestly say that, this restaurant, really is worst Vietnamese food. I order Vietnamese Rice Noodles with Grilled Pork. The fatty pork is not grill it was pan fry. Also, no lemon grass in the fatty meat. Cheap meat got too much fat in it. The BIG fish sauce is water down. After i pour some of the fish sauce into my noodle. The bottom look like soup. They did not drain the noodle of water. My friend order PHO beef noodle soup and usually the broth has it own characteristic aroma. This one does not. I try it, it was water down with MSG. The place is overprice 12.95 for a small PHO noodle. The egg roll is Chinese style not Vietnamese one. The food is mix of Chinese /Vietnamese. I’m guessing they assume that most of their clientele will be non-Vietnamese who won’t know any better. BEWARE

Bottom line: They have phở. It’s good, but pricey. So I’ve been waiting for Phở Viet to open ever since I heard that Tony’s was leaving the space. While I’ll miss the occasional greasy spoon breakfast, I’m very happy that I can get phở in East Lansing. I am already looking forward to a hot bowl of phở on a cold winter day. Not much a place yet, the interior is stripped down to the bare concrete floors and primed drywall. I hope they improve the décor, but for now, I’m happy with the simple setup of tables and a lunch bar. Upon entering, I got the same feeling I did entering Tony’s — no frills, give me the food dammit! Given that the establishment is new, I have only had a brief opportunity to try the food. While I was hoping for phở and banh mi, they don’t as of yet have banh mi on their menu. The phở ga that I purchased(i.e. Vietnamese chicken noodle soup) was good. The broth wasn’t too overpowering with the five-spice — in fact, it probably could have used more — and the chicken as cooked beautifully. Served with the standard herbal accoutrement(bean sprouts, jalapeño, lime, and basil) along with the hunan and sriracha on the table, I had everything necessary to make myself one very spicy bowl of phở. The only real catch… it was near $ 11/bowl… ouch. In general, I will be back. I’m hoping that they start having a lunch special, because $ 11/bowl is a bit steep. But as the weather gets colder, I’ll probably be back here every week or two to warm up with a bowl of phở.

This is a great place for Combination Phở(Phở Dac Biet) — Basically lots of meat, meatballs, tendon, and«other meat» This is a very traditional Phở place. I’ve been to ‘Nam so I can say its good Saigon-style Phở!
