Really delicious food. Went with family. We tried two dinner specials: 1 stuffed pork tenderloin 2 stuffed chicken. Both were good sized portions and were very very scrumptious. We also tried featured entrees: pork chop and spicy Cajun pasta. Both were pretty tasty as well. For someone who doesn’t quinoa then you’d probably opt for another side. The spicy Cajun has a yummy kick to it so don’t pick it if you don’t like spicy foods. We also had the strawberry blueberry summer salad and that was really good. All in all a pretty good food experience especially since we ate all that was served! Slightly expensive but it was well worth it plus you get the ambience of fine dining. My compliments to the chef!

Bummer service. Went out yesterday evening and ate on the patio. When we informed the server that we had a Groupon, the service went from fine to awful. Not sure if she had other tables inside, but we didn’t see much of her. The food was good, the side salad is slightly overpriced. I’d go back as long as the staff was more attentive.

i had never heard of this place but got a bunch of coupons in the mail from them so i figured what the hell. the food was really good. we got freshly made bacon wrapped jalapenos, which were way more delicious than the usual deep fried bar thing, and steaks, which had a yummy glaze and caramelized onions and brussels sprout hash and it was all tasty. the steaks were a little overdone but not terrible. i got wine and it was excellent. the service could not have been better. when we first sat down they put us in the dining room area which was overrun with a loud ass table of like 30 women who were literally all yelling over each other. so we asked to move to the bar area and they cleaned up a table for us. server was super attentive, filled up water glasses constantly, gave us timelines for when we could expect our food, etc. the view was really nice. my only complaint really is the noise level. based on other reviews it looks like this place is regularly getting large groups of loud ass women who ruin it for everyone else in the auditory sense. had we stayed in the dining room we would not have been able to converse, it was so loud. i think this place needs some sort of private dining room for these large groups that descend on them, or some better acoustic management. otherwise it was a good experience. it would have been pricier than i wanted normally, but with the buy one get one coupon it was a good deal.

Husband and I went here for dinner on a whim(and groupon). Delicious! We had the Mac and cheese for an appetizer– creamy with a pleasant light bread crumb crunch. A sophisticated Mac. I had the pork tenderloin and sweet potatoes– hubby was super jealous and salivating over it. He got the whitefish which was still pretty tasty. Intimate atmosphere and great service!

Best restaurant in Lansing area. Great food, sophisticated atmosphere, we are puzzled why it’s not always packed.

My boyfriend and I went to Copper for my birthday, and it was excellent. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the wine and different food options, and if there was something she didn’t know, she happily went to find out for us. We sat inside on the dining room side, it was very pleasant and relatively quiet. After dinner, we spent a little time on the patio, which was spacious and comfortable. We are definitely planning on returning.

Just dined here and had a great experience. My husband ordered the steak and I had coconut crusted whitefish the food was delicious. The best part was the appetizer which was homemade pretzels with a house prepared cheese dip. The patio was a great atmosphere with nice music a good wine. We will be back.

BRINGBACKTHEOLDCOPPER!!! Food has gone way down hill since they changed management. Don’t go expecting the amazing citrus aioli or the fantastic Copper Mac… they no longer exist. Copper just went from my absolute favorite restaurant to a place I will never be back to. Does anyone know where the old chef went???

Stopped in here for lunch; I’m from out of town and am always looking for a chain-alternative. It wasn’t too crowded(my fault for eating on a golf course in December) but the atmosphere was nice and the food was excellent. I had the chili and a flat-bread pizza, both were great. I’m interested to see what they have to offer for dinner but it’s a great place to eat at during the day because of the panoramic views of the course.

The best fries I’ve had in my life. Another local restaurant talks about«crack fries» but these were it. They are beer battered and tossed in herbs and served with Michigan cheddar dip. I could go back to Copper just to get fries! We were looking for a place to have a date night drink, and Copper surprised us with their great food. It was a quiet, intimate place with an upscale and modern look. We each got a cocktail and the bartender did a great job with them– so good. I can’t wait to take more people to Copper to show it off.

Copper has redone its menu and I have to say I was VERY impressed! I had been to Copper a few times in the past and it was usually pretty good but now they are much more focused on «farm to table» and using locally sourced meats and foods. I was SOOOO excited to see that they have grass-fed beef for their burgers AND they offer to serve it «protein style» with a lettuce wrap instead of a bun. I ordered my burger medium and it came out perfect — the meat was delicious. I also got a side salad and that was an explosion of tasty flavors. I am excited to go back and check out all the other tasty new items listed on the menu. If you have been to Copper before and you were not all that excited — give them another try. If you have never been to Copper — definitely give it a go.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time there last night. A lot of folks have written negative reviews about the service but that was not the case for us. Our server was friendly and prompt. The hostess was also cheery and made us feel welcome right away. Our soup and salad came out almost immediately after we ordered them. I had the cherry walnut salad and he had the chili. Both incredible. The cherry balsamic vinaigrette they severed the salad with was great. The cocktails were great. We tried the saffron infused gin cocktail and the vodka and ginger beer cocktail. Both were good but the ginger beer vodka drink was probably one of the most delicious cocktails I have ever had. The food was great. My boyfriend had the mac and cheese with chicken per suggestions in previous reviews and I had the tofu artichoke pierogis. Mine was incredible. I love when a restaurant gives as much effort into crafting their vegetarian dishes as they do their meat dishes. The veggie friendly meal definitely did not feel like an afterthought. The atmosphere here is wonderful. Definitely an upscale gem hidden in East Lansing. Loved it! Highly recommend it!

Copper is one of the few upscale and creative restaurants in the Lansing area and a fantastic choice for an intimidate date or celebratory dinner with family, although I highly advise avoiding Copper on major holidays(particularly Valentine’s Day or Mothers Day) as the service tends to be on the slow and spotty side even on a mundane average work week night. The staff may not be top notch just yet, but the food is very delicious and there are many options that are out of the norm. I personally don’t know anyone who has had an unsatisfactory meal here. The ambience/décor is on the trendy side but the music and atmosphere is slightly more tame. Overall, some minor tweaking is needed but Copper is worth checking out, and above all worth tasting! If you’re clueless on where to impress out of towners, this is the spot.

This is a late review but my wife and I went to Copper for our anniversary in September. We were looking for a nice restaurant in town that we do not frequent. We had been here once before not long after they opened and were pleased with the establishment. The restaurant is nicely put together and situated along a golf course. I think a lot of folks dont know about this place and that is too bad. Our second visit did not dissapoint. We made a reservation just to cover our butts, and were given a nice table near the window. The service and the food were quite excellent. I had the flat iron steak and I believe my wife had the salmon. Both were really tasty and cooked perfectly. We topped the meal off with coffee and the chocolate fondue, which was a fun treat. At the end of our meal a gentleman came over and introduced himself as the new manager. He talked to us for a while about our expereince and his background. He approached other table as well and seemed genuinely concerned with how everyone’s experience was. Based on some of the negative reviews, I wonder if this guy was brought in to correct some past wrongs. If that was the case i think they were headed in the right direction and I look forward to going back. When I just emailed my wife to double check some details for this review, she shot back, oh, did you want to go there tonight for dinner? That should be an indication of the nice time we had.

I had no idea that Copper was here. Did you know? I bet it’s hard to have a restaurant set way back from the street… well okay, they’re in a country club, so they have to be doing all right. But I bet lots of people don’t know the restaurant is open to the public, or that it’s even there! But my mom and her friend decided that’s where we would meet for drinks on the first freezing night of the year, and so we did! On a Friday night at 8:30 pm, it was embarrassingly empty! One large party for dinner and a few bar patrons. It was Black Friday, and our server said they were busy earlier, but it felt a bit strange. Atmosphere looks classy with dim lighting and stylish décor, though they also had a few flatscreens showing the Pistons game. Our server took our drink order, and our drinks came pretty slowly, but come they did. I got the Bohemian, which was $ 6, served in a martini glass without the stem. It consists of gin, elderflower liqueur, and grapefruit juice. I liked it, because I like all those things, though I think it was heavy on grapefruit and low on booze. Wanted to taste more fragrant gin and floral liqueur. $ 6 is a good price for a fancy-looking place, but I’d like more bang for the buck. Copper would be more fun if more people knew about it! Would be happy to come back and try another drink or get some dinner, but fairly hard to judge on one uninspired, yet certainly passable and enjoyable drink.

Went with a group of six. The atmosphere and décor were quite nice. We had reservations for 6:30 arrived on time and were promptly seated. Service was just ok. We had to ask for drink refills a couple of times throughout the evening. Food was presented well but only one in our party was happy with their meal. Presentation was nice but the taste was very so so, especially at these premium prices. We wanted to try it and see what the buzz was about but we will not be back.

I went here for my birthday dinner last night and also used a Groupon. I was very pleased, so was my family. It was Saturday, around 7:30. I had made a reservation ahead of time, as directed on the Groupon. The food was good and nicely presented. Nice portion sizes – I nearly finished my sea bass, my husband finished his linguini with shrimp and my daughter took a portion of her mac ‘n cheese home. One minor complaint about the shrimp – they leave the tails on. Normally this isn’t a problem, but like my husband said, it’s a pain to remove the tails when the shrimp is in a sauce. Waiter was a little serious at first, but he loosened up a bit. :) My yearly martini was delicious! Strawberry lemon drop, yum! We had their version of the«cookie monster.» We shared it 3 ways, which was was very adequate for us. Prices are not outrageous in relation to other similar quality restaurants in the Lansing area, but do plan to spend quite a bit if you have dinner with the works(appetizer, drinks, entrée, dessert). We probably spent more than normal due to the Groupon. I will likely go here again. It’s nice to see better quality restaurants in the area.
