Another restaurant that didn’t even make it to Labor Day…

I’d debated coming here for my bday dinner at the beginning of summer since the menu looked great, but as it was brand new, it had zero reviews… we did 1770 house instead, but I kept this place in mind for a future visit. We actually first came here for a charity event, which was held in the garden out back, and absolutely beautiful! I wasn’t a huge fan of the drinks served at the event, but that isn’t the Player’s clubs fault. We planned to return the following weekend for dinner, and hopefully dancing, since a few of the guys checked out the dance floor and thought it looked like it could be a good time. After having had dinner, I’m left with mixed feelings about the place… on one hand, the tuna tartare app was great, my boyfriend loved his tuna salad, and everyone else seemed to enjoy their dishes… my boyfriend felt that the lobster roll’s bread nearly«broke his teeth» as it was so hard, and my tuna entrée looked similar to the tuna on top of my boyfriends salad with regards to portion size. I asked for spinach instead of the sushi rice it came with, but they gave me both — likely to make the entrée appear larger… that said, the cheapest bottle of rose was only $ 28, which is practically unheard of in the hamptons, so I wish we’d gotten more than two bottles between the four of us. They were hosting a couple parties that night, so it was likely different than an average night, although after our event the place looked pretty vacant, so I suspected this place could either be dead at night(at which point we’d have to relocate to dance), or a good time… sadly even with the private events, it was ultimately absolutely dead after dinner, and the dance floor was almost creepy as it was seriously under a handful of people. That said, our server was AMAZING — so friendly, attentive, etc, and the apps were good. Can’t say it’s on the top of my list to return for a wild night, but the courtyard is beautiful, if considering a day or early evening visit. Bonus points for good service and reasonable pricing!

I’ve been to the Player’s Club three times this summer and enjoyed every experience. I had the Asian salad with grilled salmon twice. It was delicious. Definitely try it if your looking for a light meal. Last weekend my husband and I went after a movie. The place was crowded, but the manager sat us within 5 minutes. We shared a Caesar salad and both had the tuna. It was fantastic. The salad was large enough for two and the fish was delicious. We had a couple of glasses of wine that were very good and reasonably priced. We weren’t crazy about the disco music, but it was low enough that it didn’t interfere with our conversation. One criticism, where is the bread? It seems that bread should be served before the meal when you’re paying those prices. I think that several of the reviews posted here are hypercritical. The place is new. They re doing a good job working out the kinks. I could see improvement each time I went. One thing they have right is the food. We eat out a lot and the Player’s Club met our expectations.

Dinner for 8 this past Sat night proved to be expensive, very mediocre, hot…(as in barely no air conditioning –height of the summer) and extremely slow service despite the place being about 20% full. Our group of very well heeled women was placed in a extreme corner under an area with no air conditioning vents on a 95 degree night when they had a problem with their air. It took approx 20 minutes to be asked for drink service, and I stress hardly anyone at the place. There was no explanation given for any of this bad service and hardly any air. Would have been nice to offer us a drink or a dessert for our $ 500 troubles. This place will be gone by end of summer. Do not waste your time or money. Hamptons Players Club. you’re hardly a player.

Another new spot out east this summer. I think it’s average, but definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. Lots of restos turn into clubs out here. Yes, everyplace is expensive, everyplace has valet-get over it. I went here with a group of friends for a comped dinner, and we had a bunch of apps which were good but nothing special. My favs were the wings, tuna tartare and some kind of asian noodle salad. We had a couple of bottle of Vevue and then went over to the VIP room in the back for some dancing before leaving for a late night house party. The DJ was pretty good.

Seriously one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Thankful I was with good company. Shame on my cousins and me for thinking we would have an easy time getting a table Fourth of July weekend in East Hampton without a reservation, but we have chutzpah, so we tried. We were told by the hostess that it’d take 5 – 10 minutes. We waited 15 – 20. Then, they sat us in back room that looked like it was being turned into a Jersey-style nightclub. Our waiter was sweet, but the service was crappy and slow. Over the course of 3-hours we were unapologetically served our appetizers(their soup special for my cousin and tuna tartare for me) after an hour. Then, after another hour, we were served our main courses(whole wheat mac & cheese for me, soy-glazed tuna for one cousin, and oysters for the other cousin). My mac & cheese was good, but not great, and a bit cold. We had to ASK for a free round of wine — something that should have been quickly offered after our first hour-long wait. The bill for the two appetizers, three entrees, and two glasses of wine(before the free glass for each of us) came to $ 105. Not at all worth it, but not a bad deal in the Hamptons.

At the recommendation of a friend, I went there on Saturday Night and had a great time. The food was solid and the service was fine. As far as décor goes, you would be hard pressed to find a nicer place in all of the hamptons. I just noticed Sal C’s review and would just assume that that he has a personal vendetta against this place and/or management. My friends and I would come back again for sure and have already booked another reservation for later this summer.

The first two reviews must be in house. The only thing getting played here is the customer. Service alone receives a big fat 0 in my book. Whether or not this waitress was in training or just really bad at what she does, it ruined our entire night. Not once did a round of drinks arrive correctly or without having to ask twice or go to the bar ourselves. None of the other staff seemed to care as well. The only thing going for this place is the cook. The food was decent. Spring Rolls, Wings and tartare were all good. For entres, Soy glazed Tuna, Snapper and the Salmon were all cooked to our temperature and were good though the kitchen was«backed up» so there was more of a wait. Unfortunately we were so fed up with the service and wait that we just wanted to leave. We ate so fast that maybe we did not even taste the food. Something should be done to fix the mess quickly or this place will not last the season. It should not take half the summer to try to get things right. The training should of been taken care of prior to opening the doors. There is no way we should be paying these prices to deal with stupidity. The other problem is that while you are trying to enjoy your meal there is a constant stream of traffic going back and forth from the beer gardens to the bathroom. The people were loud and running around in beach gear. In theory this setup sounds good but the execution sucks…

Popped in here on Memorial Day weekend with my wife and some friends to check out their beer garden. Good time! Sat out back, played a little ping pong and had a beer. The selection is pretty solid with a few local beers. Can’t speak for the food as we just had a drink, but I’d definitely go back. I’m a sucker for cold beer, ping pong and sunshine!
