Here we are again for episode 5 of Tori and l’s summer specials and this time we brought guests! We decided to have two of our friends from my workplace to tag along and share the experience as we continued through our summer specials tour. This time we stopped by downtown East Greenwich at the Grille On Main. I’ve always heard good things about this place and it certainly lived up to expectations. I ordered the chicken club pizza which was amazing and I also had a few pieces of Tori’s smokehouse chicken pizza which was excellent as well. These pizzas were priced at $ 13 and were definitely at a great price for the size of them. One of our friends got the baked truffle Mac n cheese and said it was very good Mac n cheese and definitely a good choice. Our other friend ordered the seafood Fra Diavolo which he was actually less than satisfied with because it was pricey at $ 23 and only had 4 pieces of seafood in the entire thing. We all shared calamari to start and the calamari was good as well. It is a great atmosphere and the service was great as well. The only complaint I have is the prices of both the Mac n cheese and the seafood Fra Diavolo which were both around $ 20. It was a great experience; however, and I will definitely come back here because the value for most of the menu is very good.

Went in with a fellow co-worker based on a suggestion from our customer who claims he is friendly with staff. Sat at bar on a relatively slow Tuesday night. The bartenders were friendly and suggested having the signature grille burger. Hands down one of the best ever. Truffle fries were a nice touch. Great meal

Would like to give less than 1 star. Total DB move by one of their bartenders. Never again.

So thought we would try this place but it turned out they need to try a little harder. Nice clean place, good pleasant service and the wait for a table was not long but the wait for food and drinks was longer. The appetizers were good but the drinks were horrible and took forever to get them. The drinks were so bad that we had to send one back because nobody at our table could drink it and the replacement drink wasn’t much better, the bartenders can’t make a drink! We had to order a bottle of wine. Everyone at the table enjoyed their entrée except me, the waitress recommended the meatloaf and said it was a favorite so i tried it. The problem was the meatloaf was missing one thing MEAT? It was so dry and just crumbled when I cut into it and it tasted horrible, don’t order the meatloaf, yuk. I just don’t think the food is very fresh there. The prices were averagely overpriced and the entrée menu is very limited. If you like a chicken entrée there are only 2 choices and neither sounds very good, in fact the waitress recommended that if I want chicken to get the chicken sandwich, lol. It wasn’t the worst but there was nothing to make me want to go back for more. We won’t be back.

Love coming here. No matter what the occasion is, out with friends, business, romantic night or family night, it’s a great atmosphere for all and the food is amazing. It’s in such a historic area so after dinner you can stroll around the town.

This was my first time visiting since they re-branded. I was cautious because a lot of the most recent Unilocal reviews seemed bad, but when I went on a Saturday night it was great! The menu was still very similar to the old one but had some great new selections. Our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs which was great. I got the crispy chicken sandwich with their house potato chips and it was delicious! I’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

Yeah… no. This used to be one of our go-to places – my husband loved the quinoa cakes, since removed from the menu – but we’ve been there twice since the new owners came and we’ve been disappointed both times. The last time was this past Sunday when I made a reservation for 6 people at 5:30. We were going to a 7:00 show at the Odeum across the street. I figured 90 minutes would give us plenty of time. It is to laugh. When our waitress came she asked if we were going to the show. When we said yes, she assured us that our meal would be out in plenty of time. We ordered. And waited. And waited. We were getting concerned because we still had to get the tix. Around 6:15 she came by and said that she checked and our food would be ready soon. I reminded her about our time constraints and she said that a bunch of people had come in, implying the kitchen was busy. The place was NOT busy and people who came in after us were eating. But okay… When the food came isn’t wasn’t worth the wait. My baked mac and cheese was flavorless and covered in tasteless oil. If there was any cheese on it, I couldn’t tell. I left half the dish uneaten and did not ask for it to be wrapped. My husband got the fish special and said the vegetables tasted frozen not fresh. No one else was impressed with his/her dish. We won’t be back.

One of my favorite places to go. They’ve recently renovated, their food is great and their service is awesome!

Went to the restaurant last night. Food was great and I was very excited about all of the gluten free options. The fried gluten free options were a pleasant surprise. I would drive the 40 minutes to go to this restaurant again.

One of my favorite restaurants. I’m not a sit down at a table type of guy. I like to sit at the bar and this place has a great size bar. Food is good and the have a happy hour food specials that run to 630pm. The staff is super friendly and you rarely have to wait for a drink. The have a huge selection of Gluten Free meals and apps if that is your thing.

This place is usually pretty good but this time was a disaster. We ordered truffle fries as a app and waited 40 min for them to come out. We had to track down and then ask our server where they were. After this you would expect it to get better but the next course took another half hour to appear. I got scallop risotto which was good but absolutely covered in salt which all but ruined the dish. The server took off the fries but otherwise didn’t seem to care. My wife got a pizza which looked burnt but was lukewarm at best. Poor effort all the way around tonight grille on main.

The Grille on Main looks very promising after the recent makeover. The new décor is clean and fresh but just has that stale atmosphere to it. Trying to be fancy but just not exactly there. A step up from your average pub style restaurant but very generic. Now about the food. My wife had a craving for nachos but we wanted to try a new spot. I noticed they had nachos in the menu so Grille on Main got our business that night. They were basic and satisfying. Nothing spectacular but hit the craving. Could have used a little more of the pico on them. We also split a pizza and salad. The veggie pizza had so much potential based on visual appeal alone. A generous portion of roasted veggies and artichoke hearts on a thin crispy crust. What more could you want? I know the pomodoro sauce that was supposed to be on it. And perhaps a little seasoning on the vegetables. With that the pizza would have been a lot better. It tasted fresh but just lacked a little something to propel it into an excellent pizza. Lastly we split the grilled romaine salad. This was excellent and I highly recommend it if you fine there. The char on the lettuce added a nice flavor to it and the dressing was delicious. I’m thinking that if you wanted to add a protein to it some grilled shrimp or a small steak would pair excellent with it for a light but filling meal. The service was good our waitress was attentive without being overbearing. Beer and wine selection was also good. I had a nice pint of Stone IPA and at $ 5 that’s more than a fair price. Will we be back? Probably I might just give them a little more time to get used to the new menu and get everything ironed out.

Loved the Grille on Main. Very reasonably priced food & drink and the items we had were delicious. We started out with chicken wings, then I had linguine with clams and the husband enjoyed an excellent chicken parmigiana. It was a nice night, so we sat right near the front with big open windows. Perfect.

Although I appreciated the restaurant’s commitment to Gluten-free preparation and menu options, my experience came down to basic service. The hostess seemed aloof. The server was extremely nice the brief time we interacted, but it was obvious he was the ONLY one waiting on the entire floor.

Wow! The Grille on Main is wonderful. Delicious food, attentive staff, quick service! My family of 8 people where having a bad day before we stopped here for lunch.(Short version — tried & failed to get into the airshow a few towns over, but couldn’t, even though Nana was an invited guest.) We were hungry and tired by the time we wandered in. All of us were so pleased with our meals we bookmarked this place to return to next time we visited RI. I had the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries & lemonade crème brûlée for desert. Both were great & I’d recommend them. My husband had fried oreos for desert and recommends them as well. Definitely stop by Grille on Main for a meal & you will NOT be disappointed.

Grille on Main is always a solid dinner choice in the EG area. I live for their Black Bean and Quinoa Cakes. This huge meal is really a salad with two flavorful cakes on the side. The goat cheese and cornbread croutons really make this dish burst with flavor. To be honest, I’ve never ordered anything but this off the menu for a meal, I’m that obsessed. My boyfriend lives for their pulled pork and baked mac and cheese, try the lobster mac when it’s in season. The calamari is also some of the tastiest I’ve ever found, not too heavy and never chewy. The drinks are also fabulous. I love their golden peach sangria. They have lots of martinis, mixed drinks, and local brews on tap. The service at the restaurant is also top notch. Patrick has to be the best waiter I’ve ever had. He’s attentive but not too intrusive. While Patrick is our favorite, all the wait staff have been great. In the summer they open the windows and you can watch the happenings of Main Street. Trivia night is always a blast and their food challenges are a sight to behold. Definitely worth a trip to EG for a solid meal and some great service.

Not a bad place but not great either. Stopped in here for lunch on a weekday and while my food was tasty the service was a little iffy. The restaurant was not very busy when we arrived and the hostess sat us at a small table that was a tight squeeze between the only other 2 dining parties in that area, luckily before we got settled our server suggested we might be more comfortable at a different table and moved us to another table in his section. There were some delicious sounding items on the menu but the prices seemed a little high for some of them, not crazy expensive but just a little more then I was expecting. We both went with wraps and we both really enjoyed them, the cajun chicken wrap was quite good. We waited a very long time for our server to come check on us and bring the check after we were done eating, luckily we didn’t have anywhere to be and were chatting for a while but this definitely would have been a problem if we were on our lunch break from work. I don’t like to be rushed out of a restaurant but I also don’t like feeling like we’ve been forgotten about, like I said there were only a few other people in the restaurant. Perhaps it was just an off day or short staffed during that time, but I didn’t feel like the food was outstanding enough and the service wasn’t attentive enough to warrant their menu prices. So I wouldn’t be opposed to returning here if someone else wanted to dine here, but it wouldn’t be my first choice in the area.
