Almost did not go here because of the ratings but so glad we did! Came here last night with my boyfriend. Fantastic potato bacon soup, awesome service, awesome quesadillas. My boyfriends meal came with a salad and mine didn’t but the waiter brought me one anyway, for no charge! Would come here again.

Went back again(I’m a creature of habit). Everything was delicious again — so I can say with confidence that their burger is consistently good. I also shared the cookie sundae again — I uploaded a picture of it(Yum!). Next time I’m at Mount Snow, I will likely go again!

*This review is for the bar and New Years party only.* Both instances we dropped by Silo during our mini getaway, I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff, from the servers to the doormen, to the coat check, each person I encountered was upbeat and professional. The post ski drinks hit the spot, although my rum and diet could’ve been a little stronger. As I paid my tab at the end of the New Year’s party, I was shocked at how reasonable it was. I thought the $ 25 cover for what is essentially a very large dive bar unnecessary, but the drinks themselves were really inexpensive. They also had two separate areas with two very different vibes/DJs and I thought both were good. Definitely not your spot if your looking for a fancy night out, but good for what it is.

This is your typical bar and grill type place. It’s location is very convenient and it’s good for families. They have your typical bar food menu, with burgers, fries, chicken fingers, quesadillas, steaks, and some appetizers that looked yummy. The place appeared pretty empty when we got there, but it was also New Year’s Day. Our waitress was friendly and nice. My boyfriend got the quesadilla and I got a burger with french fries. The fries were surprisingly very good and fresh. The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. If you’re looking for a quick, bar type meal, this is your place. They also have a full bar, and advertised that there is live music and dancing, but we were there too early to see any of that.

An okay dinner in a very noisy bar atmosphere. After being seated, I quickly felt entrapped in our table surrounded by old nasty carpet and Silo walls. The noise also got progressively louder as the meal went on. If you don’t mind the atmosphere, the food is doable… if your starving, which we were. I ordered the basic cheeseburger and the fries were crispy and not bad. My burger was undercooked but very charred on the outside… disappointing. I saw a review that proclaimed this is the best restaurant at Mt. Snow. I visited a couple other restaurants that were leaps and bounds better. I would not return to this bar and grill, which is glorified by its iconic Silo. I am only giving 3 stars because I don’t remember the last time I had a burger and although subpar I still modesty enjoyed it. The atmosphere also just felt way to dark and cluttered. Unless you are in desperation for food, can’t get a table anywhere else, or just need a drink… try elsewhere in Dover. This place has some real potential because of its physical structure, but needs a major overhaul menu wise and interior wise.

The kids placemats have a map of the USA that marks Washington DC in Pennsylvania… Along with my undercooked hamburger(a staple of american culture), this restaurant leaves me sick to the stomach and appalled at its unpatriotism and ungratefulness for the great country that allows the opportunity for local restauranting.

I was pretty excited to come back to my old stomping grounds after about 10 years away. Used to come here in high school over 20 years ago and décor wise — looks 20+ years in the making. This place is screaming for a restaurant makeover! Prices are over priced. Salsa out of the jar. New England clam chowder had the consistency of Manhattan. Fries tastes like the fryer. Salad was out of the $ 1 off bag with refrigerated tomatoes and dressing that sits on the table pre arrival. The kids ribs were full of splintered bone. The chicken sandwich highlighted by pre cooked chicken. The kids burger was even burnt. The restaurant is definitely in a time warp along with the area hotels and I wouldn’t return until Robert Irvine went first.

We usually have a wonderful trip to this restaurant, today was the worse. Eggs Benedict was soggy waitress took back the next eggs were cooked hard and could not chew the bacon. Waitress was wonderful I felt sorry for her because who ever was cooking did not care. Sucks I walked out hungry.

Service was quick. Hostess was very nice. Three of us bought the Friday night special, lobster dinner for $ 21.99. It comes with soup or salad, corn on the cob, red potatoes, clams, & apple crisp. It was good.

Ok hands down. The best thing on this menu is the sirloin tips. We ordered like three of these. Our water was a nice fella name chad. He was such a great waiter. Very attentive. My friends and I are not from around here but we felt very welcomed at this place. My only complaint … I get back to ya !

This was my most notable meal so far this year, but for all of the wrong reasons. While the host was friendly enough, I became concerned that he was not physically able to make it up the stairs without suffering a coronary. He did not make any useful recommendations so we «winged it» through the menu choices. The silo is heavily steak and taters oriented, and we made an ill-advised trip off the beaten path, into the reheated frozen food zone. I had the fajitas, I believe I ordered chicken, however the sordid mess that showed up covered in lower-cost heaps of wilted onion and peppers appears to have been created from commercial-grade chicken that was previously frozen. This is not acceptable, especially at the prices they charge. The other diners had pasta, cooked to submission, one with a meatball that most likely had cardboard and lard as the primary ingredients. The baseball-like consistency of this item invited diners to toss it rather than eat it. Again, unacceptable, particularly at the outrageous prices they charge. Better meals can be had in the valley, and the following night we had a nice pizza at the takeout place down the road, and the Chinese restaurant nearby was another more palatable alternative. Beware.

I have to say, I was nervous about eating here as I checked Unilocal«after» I had ordered. Oh well, my wife and I made it out alive. I had the baked stuffed haddock and it was pretty good, I must say. It came with a garden salad and that was fine too. The portions are decent but I agree with most reviewers in the fact that the prices are higher than they should be, probably by 4 or 5 dollars down the line. The service was good and the atmosphere was what I expected. I wouldn’t tell anybody«not» to go to the Silo based on my experience there.

During the snowy Sunday before the New Year Holiday, I called in to ensure the place was still open; the receptionist/hostess was very pleasant and sweet. Got there half hour later and was immediately seated. Granted it wasn’t packed due to the weather, and I was definitely not having dinner at the lodge’s «restaurant». I’ve been here before, came for Oktoberfest in 2012, so I knew what to expect. Our waiter was extremely friendly and very attentive. The menu has been updated and the food was actually tasty. Had a nice Goose Island IPA to go with my meal. Overall had a good time for a very snowy night where most chose to stay home.

I’ve been to this restaurant before in the winter months, and liked it before, so we came here again looking for a bite to eat after one tough mudder! This place is right on route 100, very close to the mountain, although not really walking distance. There is an outdoor seating area, great for the summer months, not really helpful for the winter. Of course, as it was a big weekend, the place was packed with fellow mudders, which I’m sure isn’t the case on a typical summer weekend. We sat outside, which was great. Our waitress was helpful, although she commented multiple times that they were«busy like a winter crowd but without winter crowd staff.» That was clear, she tried her best to take care of us, but the service was slow. One girl had the burger which was a-ok, and two girls had the chicken sandwich which one said was«devine.» Now, that could have been the case after the obstacle course we had just completed, or it could have been really good. I got the buffalo wings, which were good, the sauce wasn’t too hot, just a little tangy sweet warm, which I liked but wasn’t in love with. I also tried the nachos, which I ordered without black olives or tomatoes, and got both, so I had to send it back, and the second time it was correct. There is a lot of cheese, and I asked for extra sour cream and guacamole, which completed an otherwise simple nacho dish. Because of the tough mudder weekend, there was dos equis girls giving out free beer, as well as free gifts, and yes, although I’m not a big beer drinker, I did drink the free beer :) Overall, I like this place, the food is decent, there is place to dance when the music starts to play, and the outdoor patio is pleasant, with a second bar upstairs when the place is busy. downfall: no credit cards, cash only, although there is an ATM downstairs.

First off — note that I’m not a local, so I can’t compare to other places in the area really. My review is more based upon what’d I’d expect or want, as a traveler from central Connecticut. Food: The prices were a bit high as others noted, but the portions were also substantial enough that it seemed reasonable to me. The burger was cooked perfectly pink in the center as requested, and was pretty damn good. I’m also a big fan of steak fries, so the big pile of those on the plate went over well. Oh, and the pickle was a nice and crisp deli-style half dill. Drinks: Beer selection is pretty good, with a few I had never had before… so they clearly know the way to my heart. Was also nice and cold. Can’t comment further than that, didn’t try any mixed drinks. Other: They had a band playing while we were there on a Saturday mid-evening that was pretty good, and the free«Moover» shuttles will stop at this place(#7 last I knew).

This was actually a lot of fun. We came with the Unilocal party for a dance thing like the dances we used to have at school. Keeping in mind that the whole trip was like Snow Camp when we were kids, it was awesome fun. We can now legally drink-so hey already its infinitely better! The DJ spun awesome tunes and even took my request into account with a smile. We danced and laughed and met some great people. I cannot comment on the food, but the atmosphere of the restaurant downstairs looked cozy. The bartender pours were a bit weak, so I asked them to top off our drinks and they did-they didn’t like it, but they did it anyways. All in all, an awesome night!

I had the ribs with a baked potatoe and salads. My food was fine and largely portioned but we had a few problems with some other entrees. For ex: Someone’s french dip sandwich was not cooked. The meat was red and pink. It was sent back and returned darker but tasted microwaved. The food was okay but it’s mainly a bar dishing out bar food. Not bad not great. Don’t expect fine dinning just a decent meal and good drinks and you’ll have a good time. We were a table of 7. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and got our order right the first time and amazingly with our multiple drink orders. Our drinks came out quick and were reasonably priced. The air hockey game was out of order… very unacceptable!

If I had a Unilocal account two years ago the last time I was here, I’d be sure to give four or five stars, but Silo really slipped on pricing. They went up significantly since my last visit — sure it’s been a while, but $ 18 for pasta? No thanks… That being said, Silo has one of the best atmospheres, both in the dining area, and the bar(silo) area, the latter of which frequently hosts live and DJ music later at night. This is a well-rounded establishment that caters just as much to the family of four as it does to the bar-hoppers looking for some solid apres’ ski. Downstairs, you’ll find some video games and another bar/tavern area that’s a bit more low key too. I hope they regain their modesty soon, and adjust the menu to reflect the«family-friendly, comfort food» aura they give off. If this were a fine dining establishment, I wouldn’t hesitate to pay for it, but there are plenty of those right down the road…

WTF? What’s with the price hikes. Just because your mountain draws 70% of it’s skiers/riders from the NYC area doesn’t mean we are OK with paying NYC prices. $ 16 salads, burgers. C’mon! Let’s also talk about the service. This past weekend we went in around 8pm on a Saturday. We were a party of 6, but 3 of us went in first while the others parked. We told the hostess that the others were parking. She found us a table. As she was walking away she asks us for reassurance that the rest of our party was just parking cars. I felt like she was a detective trying to poke holes in my alibi. Not to mention if you looked around there were 2 other empty tables large enough to seat 8, and another one that was paying the check. Take it easy. The service was prompt. I will give them that much. All but one of us ordered burgers. One guy in our party(the last to order) asked for a Swiss burger well done. He got a bacon cheddar burger medium rare. Even the worst waiter can’t say that«Swiss burger well done» sounds like«bacon cheddar burger medium rare.» No apology or anything from her. The burgers are pretty good for the area. I haven’t had too many in Dover that are better, but certainly not worth the price. They had some interesting entrees that I was tempted to order, but couldn’t get over the fact that pasta dishes were around $ 18⁄19 and meat entrees started above $ 20. Don’t order the sliders. 6 might seem like a good deal, but I swear they are those frozen White Castles that you buy in the super market. The restaurant itself offers the ambiance of a VT establishment, and it boasts 2 pretty large bars. Silo also owns the rights to being one of the only spots in town. With lack of competition an issue, I think people will still come and pay these prices. Not sure how long it will last though.
