Brian and I both ordered the pumpkin soft serve(he with rainbow sprinkles and I with cookie crumble). Guys, they have about a billion cone options and I can’t wait to try them all. There were kids and dogs there when we went so definitely a family friendly place. We had great service and loved it. The hardest part was deciding what we wanted to get! The only three cons are that the place is a little hard to get to if you’re on 18 South(hardly their fault), they don’t do samples(makes sense) and there is a $ 10 minimum on credit card purchases, but if won’t be hard to hit that mark, trust me.

This place has an endless options for ice cream/desserts! Love that. Got a regular soft serve one day and it was like $ 7. OKAYTHEN. =___= & who charges for sprinkles? Average/good ice cream. Just think its overpriced in my opinion… its just ice cream

Grumpy people behind the counter, noisy location and average desserts! But that’s from someone who visited Magnificos once after 4 years of driving past. Seems to be very popular with the east brunswick old timers on Unilocal — guess I’ll never find out why!

I am new to the area and looking for a local, mom and pop kind of ice cream shop. Someone suggested this place so we gave it a try. Plus side… they accept debit/credit cards(min $ 10), plenty of outside seating, plenty of flavors to choose from if you like soft serve. Negative side… they do not serve hard ice cream, soft serve only(i was looking for hard ice cream) …you cannot sample any flavors, this was a major downer for me since I wanted hard ice cream and was not familiar with all of those soft serve flavors… plus the staff is not very friendly, sort of tart and short. I ordered pistachio, which was ok… kind of tasted like maraschino cherries. My children ordered –vanilla(he liked it) –cake batter(she liked it and the color was pretty but it was eh) –salted caramel(she liked it). I don’t think I would return just for ok soft serve.

I am new to this area of New Jersey and was out on a date when the lady expressed interest for ice cream. I found this establishment through Unilocal and decided to give it a try. I was a little skeptical after reading the John D. review regarding flavor and quality of service, however thankfully I had the exact opposite experience. In terms of layout, this is a classic NJ ice cream shop, an order window and plenty of outdoor seating. There was a decent line, but it moved quickly do to multiple windows. The employees you encountered at the window seemed to be all teenage girls which is fairly standard for this type of establishment. I must note that in observation of the other windows as I waited and through my own encounter, these girls are trained surprisingly well. Someone took time, be it owner or manager, to make sure they are properly trained in customer service/hospitality. I ordered the hot waffle sandwich with salted caramel ice cream. My date ordered lemon gelati(vanilla ice cream on bottom, lemon ice in middle, vanilla ice cream on top). Both were outstanding. The salted caramel ice cream is not to be missed, especially if you want a rich ice cream with tons of flavor. The lemon gelati was extremely refreshing on a nice summer evening. As we enjoyed our items outside on red tables, I was amazed at how busy this place was for so early in the summer. It is clear to see that people enjoy going there and by the way it is run(amount of choices, quality of choices, service) the owners are passionate about what they do. We will be back for more.

Some of the best soft serve around. Creamy texture, not iced or «watery». Good variety of favors, toppings, and mix-ins. They have a ice cream sandwiches made with warm waffles, looks really good. I just never get a chance to try it cause I figure I’ll take the extra calories in the form of more ice cream rather than the waffles. They even have ice cream cakes, will try on next visit.

Magnifico’s is truly a respite from the faceless megachains that have begun to take over Central New Jersey. I’ve been going here with the family(and alone when I needed a fix) since we moved to town in the late 90s, and they’ve been a solid performer for that whole time. While Dairy Queen – once located on the TD Bank location – was nice, I hated spending money there. With not much else to choose from, I can always count on Magnifico’s to deliver the goods. The ice creams are dense and flavorful, the toppings rich, and the choices broad. I went for a sundae with marshmallow and hot fudge, the two toppings that have been my favorite since I was a child. Just delicious. There is a seating area out front and, even though you’re just steps from Route 18, it doesn’t feel like you’re sitting next to a highway. With the summer here, I will make it a point to visit with the family to escape the heat.

One should know up front it’s soft serve and not«ice cream.» That said, it’s pretty good as I have never seen so many soft serve flavors as I had banana cream. My buddy had the salted caramel and it just melted away on him. Mine didn’t. They offered LOTS of other soft serve treats which looked good. I’m more of an ice cream guy.
