Grabbed a last minute meal here tonight. Didn’t think to make reservation, being Valentines Day weekend, but still seated immediately. My server Jenn was super attentive and very hospitable. Had fried raviolis, to die for, and Eggplant Parm. Cooked perfectly. My second time there and def not my last. Even bought a jar of sauce to bring home, although I only use my own recipe, it was that good! Give this place a try! Huge portions, great service and smooth house red wine. Parking out back was tough to navigate, but …4 stars all around!

The best Italian food I’ve had in Massachusetts! Portions are enormous and every bite is better than the next! I ordered a caprese salad with prosciutto, artichokes and roasted red peppers, which could have easily been my dinner instead of an appetizer. Dinner was veal layered with roasted eggplant and mozzarella cheese over angel hair with marinara sauce. I rarely order dessert, but couldn’t pass up the special — lemon mascarpone cake — delicious! I can’t wait to return.

Hands down my favorite restaurant of all times. My husband and I have been going here for years and were so excited when they opened a second. If you’re looking for good Italian, look no further! I always get Chicken Broccoli Ziti Alfredo with the fried chicken cutlet chicken. And the fried raviolis are the best app! Chicken Marsala is also excellent. You really can’t go wrong here. They cater too! And their bread is fantastic.

I am torn between 2 stars and 3. Started out okay– got drinks quickly for our party of five, but the service dwindled from there. The appetizer was good(fried foods) — we got the sampler and shared. Once our food arrived, we didn’t really see our server. I ordered the special– it was a chicken dish with apples and cranberries and squash ravioli. The«sauce» was watery. It was okay– certainly not worth 19 dollars though. The people I was with enjoyed their food– chicken parm and chicken broccoli ziti looked good. The server never came back to check on us and see if we were enjoying our food which I found odd. My water glass sat empty. When she came back to see if we wanted dessert we asked for to-go boxes. She then returns, hands my friend a box, drops the other one on the floor and picks it up and hands it to me. I thought that was pretty disgusting — she thought nothing of it. Not sure I’ll be back.

I have never eaten worse food in my life. I ordered veal parm that was barely edible. I suppose all the good reviews are from cheap non Italian patrons. In my opinion it’s pure dog food.

I was up in Bridgewater for a few days, and through a recommendation of a friend, we went here. Being from New York, and Jersey, I’m a bit snobby when it comes to italian food like this. But I had a great experience at Johnny Macs. The place looked like a total dive from the outside, but once I walked in, it had a nice warm and rustic atmosphere. We were promptly seated right around lunch time. We started with an appetizer sampler that had Fried raviolis, fried mozzarella, and buffalo tenders. Everything on the plate was fresh and tasty. For my meal, I ordered the Chicken Florentino, which was bowtie pasta with spinach and garlic cream sauce. By no means was it the greatest pasta dish I’ve ever eaten, but it was quite delicious and the portion was substantial. I’m a big eater, so I didn’t bring anything home. but for all you skinny Unilocalers out there, be prepared to bring back some leftovers. We don’t have Johnny Macs here in NJ, so I’ll be looking forward to returning next time I’m in MA.

I’ve always had great service here. The portions are very big at a reasonable price. This is a great place to try if you have never been here.

My favorite Italian restaurant. Huge portions and great service. We go to the newest location on Plymouth Street and always split the eggplant parm and are too full to finish the main course.

Date of service: Jan 2, 2015 Meal: Dinner, dine in All Ratings out of 10: Quality of food: 10 Food to Spend Value: 8 Quality of Service: 9 Overall Rating: 9 Being the Italian food snob that I am, I try to indulge a bit whenever I am in New England since it is easier to find decent Italian food in this part of the country than in others. Johnny Macaroni’s has been in East Bridgewater for quite some time and recently opened a second location. I had never been, so I went with a couple of folks to the original location to see if I could whet my Italian appetite. The place was pretty busy, but we were seated quickly. They have a bunch of house concocted martinis on the menu, so I decided to start with a Martini Breeze. It was very crisp and refreshing and delightfully sweet, exactly what I wanted, and it came with a shaker with extra, so I felt almost like I got 2 for the price of 1. They also brought out really soft tasty bread with olive oil for dipping to start things off. We ordered fried ravioli as an appetizer, and it was utterly delicious. The batter on the outside was seasoned really well and was very crispy, complementing the cheesy ravioli inside. It was served with marina sauce, and I was thrilled with how delicious the sauce was. I also wanted to make a note on a really cool set of events during our ordering. Our waitress’s name was Ida, and while she was taking our order she noticed that another table’s food came up. She had just gotten our app order and asked if she could grab the food for the other table so it would be fresh and come back and finish our order. We were agreeable, and when she came back a few minutes later to take our order she also had our fried ravioli that she had put in while grabbing the other food. Her multi tasking ability and huge attentiveness to the customer was very refreshing and really made a huge difference in our dining experience. For dinner I ordered the veal marco, which is a breaded veal cutlet with tomatoes, baby spinach, prosciutto, and mozzarella. It also came with a side of pasta with marinara sauce. The cutlet was huge, and it was generously covered with the accompaniments, no skimping whatsoever. It was also divine, making my taste buds do somersaults while break dancing. The pasta was also well prepared with more of that delicious marinara sauce I love so much. Best off all, it came out piping hot and in waves. Everyone got their food within a couple of minutes of each other, but each person’s was brought out when it was ready, maximizing the freshness and hotness of the food. This is the only real way to have Italian food, and it really made a difference for the meal. We were all too full to have dessert, but I rarely get tiramisu when dining out, and I was convinced it would be really good here, so I talked the other 2 guys into sharing one. What a smart decision that was, at least for my taste buds. The tiramisu was light and fluffy and tasted decadent. It is one of the best I have had in quite some time. Johnny Macaroni’s serves authentic Italian food that is super well prepared. The prices are pretty reasonable and the portions are huge. The service was over the top good, and you should request Ida if you get the chance. It also had a cool ambiance, essentially being a large house with a nice family setting inside. I am already anticipating my next visit when I am in the East Bridgewater area again, and you owe it to yourself to have dinner there. They do takeout, as well, so you have multiple ways to enjoy their delicious food.

Johnny Mac’s is delicious. The menu is extensive, the wines are delicious and even the bread they serve before your meal is mouthwatering. Service is nice. The restaurant is very small inside but the food makes it worth it. I gave them four stars only because the parking situation behind the restaurant is pretty bad. It is stressful pulling back there to find no parking when all I want is to go in and enjoy the delicious food. I will definitely be going back but maybe once all the snow melts so that there will be more available parking.

Just ok. Average Italian food. Their chicken Marsala is horrible, which a shame they can screw up such a popular dish, although their chicken broccoli ziti is delicious. It’s a 50⁄50 experience.

I would give the food a five stars and the service four stars. It was the first time for us(party of 5) and we loved it. The portions are HUGE. Definitely enough for two meals. See pics for more details. The menu offered a wide variety of food, beer, mixed drinks and wine! There is something for everyone. The place was packed but we were seated within 10 minutes. While you wait there is a seating area attached to the bar so you can easily order a drink. Very convenient. The service was just ok. Our food came out soon after the appetizer and we couldn’t finish the app. Then two people in our party didn’t get their meals(steak) until like 5 – 10 minutes after we got ours(pasta). Overall it was good! Totally recommend it.

First, let me say that the food here is just as good as the original Johnny’s location. Everything is delicious. However, we discovered that the large dining room at this location has a problem with acoustics. The room seems to reflect sounds off the walls and ceiling making it quite loud and difficult to hear. Our waitress couldn’t hear us order. Our group simply gave up on trying to have a conversation. With just a few tables of customers in the room, it becomes unpleasant rather quickly with everyone raising voices to be heard over the racket. Next time we’ll ask to sit in the front dining room or get take out.

Came here with my husband last weekend for a date night. We had heard good things about this place so decided to give it a try. When we pulled in, we weren’t sure where we were… from the outside this place could definitely use a makeover. But it’s certainly a hidden gem we’ll be coming back to. We started with the calamari — really yummy. It was fresh, flaky and delicious. Although, I’d never get an appetizer again because you truly don’t need it based on how much food they give you in the entrees! For dinner, my husband and I each chose a «combo» platter because we had heard the portion sizes would be huge so we figured this way, we’d get a little of each thing to try and maybe it wouldn’t be quite so much food. For $ 17, how can you go wrong? Turns out that maybe the full-sized portions are EXTRA huge, but the combo platters were HUGE. I got what I would consider a full size portion of chicken parm, and a piece of lasagna that could feed at least 3, if not 4. Plus a meatball. The food was super delicious… I am a harsh critic of «gravy»(red sauce for my non-Italian Unilocalers) and theirs was great. My husband equated this place to «a place you can get homemade Italian food without making it yourself». It just felt very homey, quaint and normal, rather than attempting to be upscale or be something it’s not. The food is what you’d expect your Italian grandma to serve on a Sunday afternoon. We’ll definitely be back. Once I’m done eating my leftovers, anyway.

Wife and I had dinner there a few weeks ago. We sat at the bar as usual. The bartender Donna was really really great. If this review was for the service only then it would be 5 stars. Unfortunately the food was really rather blah. I had the baked stuffed shrimp with a side order of linguine with red sauce. First thing I judge an Italian restaurant on is the sauce and this was really bland and rather mediocre. The shrimp looked like it came out of a box. Rubbery and the stuffing was totally uninspired and mundane. My wife had the chicken marsala which she said was not what she expected(she’s way nicer than I am) Her side of ziti with red sauce was not drained properly and was very watery. If I am in the neighborhood and want a drink I would stop in just because of Donna but we will never eat here again.

Huge portions of delicious offerings! Great prices and remember your not going to get less than 2 meals from what you receive! The standard menu is vast, but they also have specials to enhance your selection. Great service for the attentive waitstaff! Just remember they’re closed on Mondays.

I don’t even have words for how busy this place is ALL. THE. TIME. Even the new 2nd location is always packed. People around here love their Johnny Macaroni’s. It’s good – your typical Italian American carb-loading bog plate restaurant. Everything feels very rushed; I’m amazed the staff was as nice as they were on a Saturday evening. The food was good, but very heavy and oily. Portions are huge; I had 3 meals from my chicken buschetta. Drinks were excellent. I might go back on a Tuesday afternoon, but never for a dinner service.

Johnny Johnny Johnny. Shrink me down, bathe me in your gravy, and then slurp me up a wet noodle into your belly so I can forever live in paradise of your tummy-box, swimming in digesting left overs from this establishment. This food is excellent. As everyone has said the portions are beyond large. You order the lasagna, expect to receive half a pan of lasagna that could feed a family of 3 for 4 days. The drinks were made excellent, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating for our large group. Especially since we had to re-arrange furniture. The ceilings are low, but being 6’4″ and all that is man, my head still missed the smoke alarm in the bar area by a centimeter. Ample parking out back. The outside looks a lil run down but when you get inside it’s cozy, comfortable and larger looking. If I could meet Johnny I would tell him all of this in person, and shake his macaroni and spaghetti hands.
