Dunkin’ Donuts

Dunks is a consistent happy place for me. I am 110% biased and filled with nostalgia when I go here. I know there are amazing gourmet coffee and breakfast places all over Boston but my heart goes to dunkies! Looking at the donut choices reminds me of Sunday morning with family or with childhood friends after a sleepover party –so much frosting! The blueberry glazed is still one of my faves.
Today I approached with bleary eyes and ordered my old ‘usual’ at an airport kiosk. I got a medium coffee with extra skim and a Splenda. For food I purchased the ham, egg and cheese on English muffin. Nothing gourmet here, but reminds me of my work commute when I lived here. I had an apartment right by a dunks once and that was heaven!
Look no one is line is patient and you should have your order ready when you get to the counter but the upside is that you should expect quick service. Also you should know what a ‘regular’ is when ordering. A medium regular is 3 cream/​3 sugar. If you hear someone order this, now you know. It’s the way I first drank my coffee… Gotta start somewhere.
Glad to be home for a little throwback breakfast!

Surprisingly full service for a DD in an airport location, this one is in Terminal A by the Delta gates. Coffee and donuts and sandwiches. Heck, they’re even selling whole and ground coffee beans in case there isn’t a DD where you’re headed.
My coffee was hot and tasty. Better with a couple of ice cubes in it. Early morning flights are no fun.
