Mikado Japanese Steakhouse

We were seated at a hibachi grill and for over 15 minutes our presence was never acknowledged. There were many waitresses and waiters walking around and congregating in the kitchen area but no one ever came over to say one word to us. We left and will never return. This type of «non-​service» is never appropriate nor tolerable.

It was between this place and Sushi California so I try this place. For the good: the place is spacious & beautiful! The Korean BBQ my friend got was awesome. For my bad experience: I get the lunch special: soup/​salad & 3 sushi rolls. I get my rolls & didn’t like them so I tell my server. She tells me if I want something else, I have to figure out what I want right that minute because she needed to put the order in before she left. So I order sashimi. The next 15 mins or so I sat there until the sashimi came so I ask the lady who delivered it if the sushi I didn’t like could be taken away & off the bill & where my server disappeared to. Well, she bitches at me about how fish is expensive and it’s not their responsibility to comp or replace what I didn’t like & that my server left. So she goes and tells the manager/​owner, & the owner comes out and gives me this big speech about how she will take it off the bill, but seafood is expensive so next time maybe order something I’m familiar with. She made me feel like I had committed a terrible crime. I wasn’t familiar with anything on this menu, & I actually did order sushi that I thought would be the same everywhere!

Loved the food, the salad dressing is great. Place is always pretty empty though. The only problem we had was communication problems with our server. Just a bit of a language barrier, but she was very timely and very friendly.

Very pretty place. Looks really nice inside and comfortable. The sushi is good but not as great as other sushi I’ve tried but that doesn’t mean that it’s bad. It’s not, it’s very tasty :) I guess the only thing I didn’t like is that my husband and I had to try very hard to get our waitress’ attention when we needed something such as a refill or when we wanted to order something else. The food comes at a decent time to the table, like maybe 10 – 15 minutes. The spicy mayo sauce is not very good in my opinion (if you like spicy mayo with your sushi). But I would recommended the mikado roll. It’s very filling and has a lot going on. Similar to the volcano roll but it has a lot more seafood mix on top than the volcano. It was very yummy. Good overall was satisfying just the service was the downer.

This was good!!! What I loved was the customer service and best off all they serve very well for a hibachi place!!!

I must say for this place to be empty, the employees are well paid.
Service was slow. Our main waitress was very understanding but she didn’t fully catch our party of three’s order.
Food was served in no particular order. No plates to share sushi. Salad was served last… Not my norm. Heehee
The food was average but the one star is for the disorganization. Food descriptions are ambiguous and please don’t ask for clarification when it gets to the table. #nodrama
Good for a fix if you have time. Cute snazzy spot. Thumbs up on the décor.
Mom enjoyed the softshell crab, but not the coffee. :(

My husband and i just recently dined here for lunch. I ordered the lunch special which was the 2 roll special with salad. The salad was alright considering that you were able to help yourself to the lettuce, add your own dressing (ginger and yum yum are the options that come to mind) and any other toppings. I ordered two rolls, the Philadelphia and tempura shrimp avocado. The Philadelphia roll was good but I was not impressed with the shrimp roll. Usually whenever you get a roll with tempura, the shrimp tempura is fresh so you can taste the contrasting hot from the shrimp and cold of the rice/​avocado. The tempura i got was stone cold as if it had been made the night before, stuck in the fridge and slapped on a roll. I was very disappointed because I had high expectations of this place. I think from now on we will stick to smaller sushi places like Sushi California or Sakura on ft campbell blvd.

The food was delicious. No heat so it’s cold inside. Portable heaters helped a little. Lion king, Kentucky derby, cowboy and bama are our new favorites.
