Starbucks

The seating is divided in a really cool way. Next to the counter is the quiet side, great for reading and computer stuff. Then there is a huge area that is very loud. I ran into some cool folks because I sat next to the garbage can at the end. On the other side was a trucker on a stopover from Indiana. I ended up introducing him to Unilocal.It was a new world for him. Some folks from Kowalski’s were having there lunch, a woman with a 60’s flip, and someone else reading a cozy. All on the same bench with the bathrooms conveniently behind us. They have the best ceiling tiles in there. I have never hung out at a Starbucks, if I did it would only be here. The huge windows I think make it very upbeat. I was drinking the most delicious iced tea, black for 4 hours. I tried the Arnie Palmer and didn’t like it, lemonade is deliberately unsweet. The staff are fabulous. I also had a bag of sea salt popcorn. I was there until it was time to go to Cinco de Drinko of course. I don’t do rush hour so I tend to run very early. Actually breakfast was a burger and shake at the nearby Culvers. So what cozy was I reading but Once Upon a Grind by Cleo Coyle, coffee house mystery.

Fast and friendly service, beautiful seating area in front of windows curved to face North. Negative: no drive-​thru. Positive: You can eat (paid for) deli food from the adjoining Kowalski’s market with your drink at the tables inside, or grab a cart cup holder and shop while sipping your drink.
