The restaurant is closing permanently and is out of most menu items. Service is, well about to be unemployed and acts it. Go somewhere else.

This was so good! I had the lobster roll with rosemary garlic fries. I am so sad that we just found it yesterday and we were informed they are closing their doors for good at the end of the week.

Best crab cakes in Mn so far! We used to live out in Northern California so we are used to good seafood. I was surprised how good the lobster roll and crab cakes were here. They also had some great limited time offers as well such as the duck bites and roasted brussel sprouts.

Came here for dinner with my sister. Service was great and food was good. We ordered the clams on the menu but they didn’t have it so that was a bummer.

Stopped by for lunch on a Monday. Crowd was sparse at 11:45am. Had the crab and corn bisque with the blackened catfish po-boy. All were good. Service was friendly and quick.

Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet Food was very good. Wish everything was still hot but the flavor was good. Our server got thrown into serving our table of 20 but she did a very good job of keeping with. The staff did a great job of keeping the buffet stocked.

Quickly went to Unilocal to look for somewhere nearby for a business dinner. Once again Unilocal comes through as I searched on seafood restaurant. Having spent a fair amount of time in my past checking out and learning to love Cajun cuisine in the back roads and small towns of Louisiana, the prospect of finding Cajun options in Minnesota peaked my curiosity and honestly my skepticism. All doubts were quickly erased by the blackened gator bites as an appetizer. What a wonderful way to prepare something that normally goes through the deep frying process shared by onion rings and Oreos. I will be dreaming of the texture and flavor for months to come. The crawfish étouffée I ordered was flavorful and well prepared as well. My business associate ordered the prime rib and was raving about it, perhaps because of the buzz he got from the tasty and strong Bloody Mary that came with a complimentary beer chaser. Travel a lot, eat out often, can’t wait for my next visit to check out Target Field and a return to this classy restaurant. Well done!!!

Loud atmosphere and service is a little snobby. I have had the chicken and waffles twice now and the first time was better – they must have changed the recipe AND it’s only on the specials menu now. Kind of expensive for a bar and grill type place. Nice décor on the inside. Large patio seating if it’s nice weather outside. Check ‘em out…

We loved this place. The food was amazing. I got the lobster roll and charred broccoli which was the best I’ve ever had. So fresh. Brian got the chicken and waffles which was very good and very unique. We will be back for sure.

Great atmosphere, even better food. Almost gave it four stars — bartender needs more eye contact! The appetizers are excellent, and unique. Enough food to fill you up just from the appetizers, good selection of craft beers — sit at the bar! DEFINITELY try the mussels, they are five star. It needs a fireplace, or some flames somewhere in the bar.

We need more places like this one! We came in on Saturday night about 6 p.m. We ordered the calamari for the appetizer, and then the prime rib and the rice bowl for entrees. Overall the food was very good. The craft beer selection is above average. We both had the Shake Chocolate Porter which was amazing. The service was above average too. They have a very large salt water aquarium with exotic fish, which was beautiful.

I was in the military with a guy from the New Orleans area. I’ve had better food from his kitchen. And for the price we paid here, we could’ve fed 40 people from his kitchen. Not tasty, not very good, not worth the price. The chef can’t cook a steak;both ours went back to the kitchen for being rare, should’ve been medium and medium-well and both came back well done. Lobster was rubbery and stiff, and the mashed potatoes were bland and tasted like instant potatoes. I’m not going here again. Not worth the price even though we live close.

I can’t believe I ate the whole thing. The brisket bowl was very good and we’ll past a generous portion. Don’t come here expecting the standard menu. My first time here and pleasantly surprised to not see all the same stuff that I see in about 95% of the places I go to as a road warrior. Good service. In and out in 45 minutes.

Beigneating Beignets You’re probably asking yourself right now, «What’s are Beignets and am I even saying it right?» Well, I’m going to tell you all about Beignets, but not quite yet. I have some other delicious dishes to tell you about first and you probably want to know how to say this goofy looking word as well. So, before we get started, it’s pronounced(ben-yeyz). I’ve heard that the food found in N’Awlins is absolutely amazing and I’ve always wanted to spend some time down there as well. Until I can do so, a new place in town called Blue Stone Steak & Seafood will be my go to place. In fact, it’s one of my new favorites to boot! It just so happens that a young man I knew from high school, Chad J., is also one of the owners and it’s nice to see him be successful. What I liked hearing, was that his mom and dad are involved by ensuring the quality of food and testing their dishes on a daily basis. Why? If it’s not good enough for the family(who also is the inspiration behind the majority of the menu), then it’s not good enough for the patrons. To me, that’s awesome! We chatted briefly about some of the best dishes to try and of course we had to go with those options since one of them just so happens to be Mama’s Specialty, Ragin’ Cajun Red Beans & Rice. The other dishes we decided to go with were, the Voodoo Pasta and the Pork Rice Bowl, but we started our evening with, Black n’ Blue«Stones» and the Crab & Corn Chowder. It’s about time we dive into the food and we’re going to start with the«Stones» and the chowder. These little steak bights you get with chimichurri sauce and garlic aioli were awesome and I’m convinced that chimichurri sauce should be served with everything. I even started mixing the aioli and chimichurri sauce together and THAT was downright amazing. The chowder was also amazing and a must try while you’re at the Blue Stone. It had the perfect blend of corn, potatoes, crab meat and spices and my wife and I wanted seconds right away(but we didn’t). My wife went with the Voodoo Pasta which combined fettuccini, shrimp, Andouille sausage, trinity and an outstanding creamy Creole sauce. I like a little spice and I also like me some Creole cooking — this dish had the perfect balance of spice and everything mixed together had both of us hooked. We haven’t gotten to my dish yet and I wanted to devour my wife’s meal before she had a chance. If you like dishes like this, this one is also, a must try! Owner Chad said that one of his favorites was the Pork Rice Bowl and after reading it prior to him saying that, I was already considering this as one of my options. When you combine, sweet bourbon glazed pork and trinity over red beans and rice, then throw in a fried egg, bacon relish pepper and some more yummy creamy Creole sauce — my friends, you have yourself one heck of a meal. Again, I was hooked! While we didn’t order a full helping of the Ragin’ Cajun Red Beans & Rice, Chad was kind enough to let us try it and out came a soup bowl full of it. This secret recipe provided to the company by Chad’s mother should NEVER be removed and NEVER changed — Andouille sausage, smoked ham hock, kielbasa and trinity all included and I repeat, should NEVER be changed and NEVER overlooked on the menu. Simply outstanding! Remember that goofy word(that yes, I even pronounced incorrectly at the restaurant), Beignets? Well, these world famous N’Awlins delicacies are made by deep frying dough and sprinkling powdered sugar all over them. I have no idea what the ingredients exactly are, but please keep making them — I would eat these before donuts. What makes them even better is when they’re served with a bourbon flavored caramel which is insane or the coffee flavored chocolate, which by the way tastes nothing like coffee and also tasty. To sum it all up, if you like a little spicy and traditional N’Awlins style cuisine, this place is a must try and is easily one of my new favorites. Plenty of additional things left on the menu I’m looking forward to trying and the prices are very reasonable as well for the amount of food you’re served as well. I had to chuckle… As we left the restaurant, there were some families sitting outside eating their Jimmy John’s subs and all I could think was, «Those poor people, they could be eating something so much better than that sub, they’re definitely missing out!»

First timer, I ordered the lobster roll and deep fried deviled eggs. The lobster was good, but nothing spectacular. To be honest, you can pretty much only taste the mayo :( The deviled eggs though were really good. I love deviled eggs but have never had them deep fried. Def worth it! Food service was fast and server was great. Recommended.

We were invited to the pre-opening lunch at this place a week before they opened. We decided to go for lunch on that Friday. As you enter the restaurant, it’s décor’s are simple, clean and tasteful. Couple of wonderful ladies greeted us and it was very pleasant. We were taken to a nicely organized table and was seated. Our server came right away and told us about the menu, appetizers and entrees. She was little rough at the edges, but that is probably because it is a new restaurant and it takes couple weeks to totally know the menu. Lunch menu had enough choices. There were six of us and we had 3 appetizers and I ordered Jambalaya for my main dish. Here is where they lost couple of my stars. Time!!! The time it took to get the food was pretty long. Took them about 15⁄20 mins to get the appetizers and another 30⁄35 mins to get the main dish. But on the positives, they have excellent appetizers, and my Jambalaya was terrific. The awesome food made me forget about the wait. The food was cooked to perfection and I would love to eat there again FORDINNER. I hope this place stays open, cause they have great food, and hopefully the management will realize the problem with the time for lunch and simplify the menu for faster service.

Blue Stone left a fairly deep first impression on me after my experience this past Friday night. I was, and still am, blown away that they’d only just opened. Everything from the service to the atmosphere and food were so well-practiced and executed that you could easily have mistaken it for an established eatery. The style of the interior greatly appeals to me; deep, rich colors adorn the walls and fascinating light fixtures with exposed Edison style bulbs dangle from the lofty ceilings. Blue Stone doesn’t seem to suffer from an identity crisis like a good deal of places I’ve ventured, but instead seems so resolute in design that it knows exactly what it wants to be. There were no servers languidly dragging about or sweat-laden with panic and confusion; on the contrary, everyone was very well-rehearsed and full of answers about a number of questions. Our waitress maintained a pleasant, friendly demeanor throughout the meal and arrived at our table at very precise(and appropriate) intervals despite having many tables apart from our own. Every component of the meal arrived exactly as it should’ve(drinks, soups, entrees) and our glasses never ran dry. Hell, I’d be satisfied with this level of attention at any restaurant, but at one that’s barely had time to take its first breath? Color me shocked. For the sake of simplicity, I’ll review each individual food item we sampled. Crab and Corn Chowder: It arrived hot and absolutely covered in huge lumps of fresh crab and snipped herbs. The soup itself was creamy and flavored in a way that tempered the natural sweetness of both the corn and crab. It was a very easy soup to consume, neither too light to be unsatisfying nor too heavy to be a chore. I’ll be ordering it again. Blue Stone Gumbo: The second of the two soup offerings, the gumbo was delightful. My other two dining compatriots, Jenny and my mom, found it to be spicy, however I only detected a hint of spice in my throat after a couple bites. It’s a matter of taste, clearly, but if you’re sensitive to heat it may be a bit much for your palate. Regardless, Jenny happily proclaimed it was the tastiest gumbo she’d ever eaten and that the heat was more than welcome. Southern Fried Chicken and Waffles: Confession: I’ve never had chicken and waffles. I’m not a fan of ‘sweet with my meat’. I’m incredibly glad I finally bit the bullet and gave it the shot it deserved. The chicken was boneless breast cutlets fried to a golden brown. I will say that it was a touch dry(I could be spoiled on broasted chicken, mind you) but the flavors were just what you’d expect from a good fried bird. The waffles, a thick and toothsome variety, were laden with the flavors of bacon, natural maple and pecans. I asked for an additional side of syrup(as the waffles predictably sponged it all up) and it went wonderfully with the savory flavors from the chicken. The dish was accompanied by a red pepper slaw, which, despite my intense hatred for red peppers, worked as a delicious palate cleanser with its colorful array of sliced veggies. The ‘maple gravy’, though? Argh… that was pretty vile. It had a strong maple flavor and aroma(which you’d expect, naturally) with both the color and texture of a still-condensed can of cream of chicken. I quickly ushered it off to the side after the first bite. The dish didn’t need it, though, and I soon forgot it was ‘supposed’ to be there. Cornmeal Fried Oyster Po’Boy: Buttery and soft on the inside with a perfectly crunchy exterior, the oysters tasted incredibly fresh. This was Jenny’s entrée and she couldn’t stop raving about the flavors; the pickled onions and creole remoulade really kicked it up without outshining those little buttery oysters. The bread they chose was perfect and it stood strong in the face of all the ingredients within. The sandwich is served with a side of rosemary garlic fries. If you’ve ever eaten Smash Fries at Smashburger, these are very similar but worlds better executed. They’re thicker, fluffier, far less greasy and far more masterfully spiced. I could eat a bucket of these damned things. Low Country Steam Pot(as ordered with crab legs): The price point varies and on that night it was 38 bucks. It was worth every single red cent of those 38 dollars. The legs were massive and chock full of huge, tender, flaky sticks of sweet crab. The liquid from the boil was clearly well-seasoned as it permeated the crab and gave it a garlicky, buttery saltiness that tasted phenomenal. The sausages, potatoes and chunks of corn really stood out instead of falling into the background as typically happens. I also really liked that they gave you bread with the dish to sop up all the crabby goodness. Again, it was accompanied by the same red pepper slaw I mentioned earlier. To sum it all up? I went in expecting to hit turbulence and was blown away. While I’d normally give the advice to stay away after first opening, you’d be doing yourself an injustice here.
