I’ve had several good experiences at this location. The staff are always friendly and helpful and check on you often to make sure you have what you need. Our server tonight, Paige, was especially helpful and friendly.

A pretty standard applebees. The only difference is that I feel the management really cares about the customer service, because I always see them walking around the tables. I’ve had bad, high school type servers and I’ve had GREAT service(one gal named Mary V is really really great). The food is ok, reasonably priced and nothing fancy. The drinks are fairly overpriced and are predominately ice. A good place for comfort food and sitting down to chat.

If you could write a guideline or outline for mediocrity, the menu and service at an Applebee’s would be it. Granted, it’s a chain so mediocrity is the standard and from what I can tell, a draw for some people. People like my sister who is about as food adventurous as a toddler on a McDonalds Fries diet. The food is what you’d expect. Frozen, defrosted and microwaved. Entirely one note. Enough to fill your stomach and not disgusting enough for most people never want to come back. The meats a weird texture, noodles probably never actually hit boiling water in the last 2 months. The salads are probably a safe bet if you’re been dragged here by your mother in law and have to eat something. The prices don’t reflect quality, they reflect charging the amount they know they can ask the average person to pay while still feeding them mediocre crap. The service reflects the management, which is standard mediocrity. I’m not ripping on Applebee’s. It is what it is, which is a chain meant to rake in money while dishing out the least amount of quality and effort. Enjoy your microwaved meal that cost approximately the same as a real meal elsewhere. Oh, you actually thought that was a steak?

After not having been to an Applebee’s in over 5 years, I was pleasantly surprised by my recent visit. With their updated menu, and excellent staff(including a manager that went table to table to check in on each diner’s experience), I will certainly be visiting more than once every 5 years!

I got the strawberry kiwi lemonade(pretty good) and the parmesan crusted steak. It was not bad! I’ve had better but this was still enjoyable.

This is my favorite Applebee’s. I am not a chain restaurant type of gal but I must be honest and admit we come here almost weekly. We usually hit 5 dollar burger night which is a great deal. Any burger for $ 5 and you can get fries, veggies, or add a side salad for a small amount which is what I always do. I love their salads! The one item I crave here is the Fiesta Chicken Chopped Salad. SO good. You have to try it. If you like lime and a little zest in your food, you will love this! I hate to sound like an old person but we even have our favorite table. We as in myself and anyone who comes with me. They always seat us in our«spot». The service here is always attentive and they keep the glasses full which is much appreciated. Late night Happy Hour is a great way to end the day chatting with friends and its never loud in this one because the bar is farther away from the dining area. If you are in West St. Paul, this is one of the few places on Robert you can actually go late at night. Also, one that hasn’t closed down on the West side of Robert… I sure would like to know why most restaurants fail on that side of Robert… Even Sonic didn’t make it and everyone LOVES Sonic… Monday Night 5 Dollar Burger nights and Late Night Happy Hours!

ok Applebees, how do I rate a chain place. Well here it goes, Applebees, Chilis, TG Fridays, not a huge difference between them usually, they are all a chain and Chains are’nt usually my 1st choice of a place to dine at but I end up comming to them every so often due to my wife loves all 3 of the restaraunts I listed above plus so do a lot of people plus my wife recieved a gift card here so We decided to give it a go. One thing I will give for my all around experiences of Applebees From comming to them throughout my life is I have always loved there bone in buffalo wings and Bourbon street steak and fajitas. My wifes and I experience at one of the Woodbury, Mn locations about 6 months ago was very subpar compared to our most recent visit at this West St. paul location and had I rated that one on Unilocal I would have gave it only 3 stars cause my burger was kinda bland and our drinks were never refilled and there restaraunt looked unkept. Our experience the other night at this West St. Paul location was different, Our server was a younger guy in 20s and I think his name is Jeremy and was very polite, very attentive, and seemed pretty kid friendly towards my 4 year old daughter. He was constantly refilling our drinks, would ask how everything was often enough, was prompt with our food and our food was hot and not bland this time. We had the queso and chips for an appetizer and the queso was delish, my meal was the cajun shrimp, very tasty, my wife got a steak with mixed veggies and loaded mashed potatoes and she loved her dish and my daughter who had the french onion soup(ya, I know a 4 year old who loves french onion soup, has since she was 2 and tried my wifes at Fridays one time) loved her french onion soup(we arent bad parents, she also got some veggies and potatoes off my wifes plate). The restaraunt was clean and the food was good and the service was excellent. If you got who we got for a server your in good hands, I tipped him about 30 percent of what our bill was before the gift card was used, you should do the same, he deserves it.

Hmm… I go here to grab a bite to eat when it’s after 6pm in South St. Paul. Why? Because most of SSP closes down after 6pm :) Applebees… Decent happy hour prices. Food is fine but unimaginative. Try as they might with all the local high school shit on the walls, this place lacks all personality. Blah.

I’m typically a fan of Applebee’s and its happy hours, but this one location in particular deserves to be called CRAPplebee’s. Lunch hour. Fifteen people. Everyone got their food except for one person, «Oh, sir, yours is coming on the fly because I forgot to put in your order.» Note: this person ordered a salad with apples and chicken on it. 1) Apologize profusely. 2) When you say, «on the fly,» make it on the fly.* 3) Don’t admit that you forgot to put in the order. 3) Start comping stuff. *Typically, the term«on the fly» means«super quick,» «coming right out,» «let me go grab it right now.» Apparently, at crapplebee’s, it means, «another fifteen minutes,» «they’re farmvilling your lettuce in the back,» «they had to find johnny appleseed to start planting the apples.» Whew! Thankfully the manager ended up comping the salad… BUT still charged $ 2.50 for his soda. Really?! REALLY?! Don’t go overboard now with the customer service.
