Took over ten minutes to get the burger. It was way overdone, a burger should never be crispy. Actually more crunch in the burger than the bacon.

Tried this food truck out at a rodeo near my work. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries which were decently priced. Those fries were bomb! Good food and quick service, two of the most important things when visiting a food truck.

Will and Pop’s came to our company picnic and did a great job making fresh patties, sandwiches and fries. Since everything is fresh and made-to-order, you have to expect some time to prepare and cook your burger. The burger was really tasty, fresh and full of flavor. The team did a great job of pumping out all the orders and am glad to see Will and Pop’s back on the scene.

Have eaten at this food truck(actually they have two) many times over the many years. High quality food with gourmet burgers as the foundation. Good staff. Lots of fun.

This food truck pumps out so many combinations of grilled cheeses and cheeseburgers! Will & Pops makes the burger patties on the truck so you’re guaranteed to get a fresh burger. Their customer service is great & they take cash or card too. In less than 2 days notice due to the cancellation of another food truck, Will & Pops came through at the last minute to make our Oktoberfest company picnic a huge success! The burgers are delicious and their toppings are locally sourced so they’re super fresh, and they work so well on their grilled cheeses too! My favorite was the mushroom & swiss burger– the bun was fresh & the side of fries were well seasoned. Because they make the burgers to order, expect to wait a little bit– but it’s so worth it! Whether you’re planning a corporate event, wedding, party, company picnic, or if you see them at a food truck rodeo, definitely stop by this green food truck– you won’t be disappointed!

Get. The. Fries. Perfectly seasoned and nicely crispy. I can’t comment on the burgers since I’m not partial to beef, but the grilled cheeses are just okay. Not particularly memorable. Those fries though…

Giving 2 stars because the fries are good – I had some of my friend’s and wished I had just gotten fries instead of the grilled cheese that I got. If I were basing this review just on the grilled cheese, I’d give it 1 star. The grilled cheese was extremely disappointing-probably the worst grilled cheese I can remember eating. Here’s why: 1. I asked for no Swiss cheese and it came with it anyway. I didn’t have time to wait around for them to remake it so I just ate it and it was gross. Swiss just does not go well with American cheese, in my opinion(the Primitive sandwich has a slice of Swiss and a slice of American). 2. The sandwich was very well done on the outside but the cheese was just barely melted on the inside, and in parts it was not melted at all. Come on, that’s grilled cheese making 101 – turn the heat down and let the cheese melt. The sourdough bread was so well done and crunchy that it literally cut the roof and corners of my mouth. Not what I want in a sandwich. Note that it was not a busy time when I was there – there was no line and only 1 friend and I ordered at this time, so it’s not like they needed to try to crank it out quickly during the lunchtime rush. 3. I expect a grilled cheese to be buttery – butter is a key part of a grilled cheese sandwich. This seemed like they put it on a dry grill. No buttery goodness at all, just like dry toast. Yuck. If they do put butter on it, there is barely any – certainly none I could taste. My suspicion was confirmed by the fact that they serve it in a paper tray, and there was not a hint of grease/butter on the paper where the sandwich was sitting, just dry toast crumbs. 4. I ordered lettuce and tomato because you can get them added on for free, and I wanted to feel like I was getting more bang for my buck with this ridiculously overpriced sandwich(see next point). The lettuce consisted of gross little brown and white pieces of iceberg – the parts that I’d throw away if I were making the sandwich. Iceberg is not great lettuce even when it’s fresh, and it’s just unacceptable when it’s not. The tomato was of good quality, but they put the big, wet piece of tomato right next to the dry, ungrilled bread inside the sandwich. Anyone who knows how to make a sandwich knows that tomato turns the inside of the bread to mush pretty much instantly. Disgusting. You need to separate the tomato from the bread with some cheese or lettuce or something to prevent the ungrilled bread from soaking up all the juice from the tomato. If you make a living making sandwiches, you should know this. 5. This sandwich, without fries, cost $ 5.50. Yes, you read that correctly: two thin slices of sourdough and two thin slices of cheese, one of which is notoriously cheap(American), for $ 5.50. Served from a food truck. That is absolutely ridiculous. I will never eat here again, and I would not recommend that you do, either.

Bottom line, burger and fries were pretty good, but had a lot of trouble finding the truck. I bought a Groupon in May of 2014 for Will & Pops and I was really excited because food trucks are a fun time. I also started following them on Twitter around that time so I could figure out where they were and use my Groupon. I’d periodically check their website for locations too. When they did post on Twitter, it was typically from Durham or RTP and wasn’t convenient for me to drive there for lunch. Once, I went to a Raleigh rodeo, but they were only serving fries and I couldn’t use the deal. So here it is 1÷13÷15 and I finally used my Groupon(it’s been expired for a long while now). I even had trouble finding them after they gave their location because they were parked in the very back, dark area of the complex. My meal was very good. The burger and fries were enjoyable were what I expect from a place that focuses on burgers. Nothing fancy, no unique toppings or sauces, but good grub. However, since it was the first week of Jan and very cold, eating my dinner in my car in the dark was a bit depressing. So lesson learned, no more Groupons for food trucks for me. And no more food trucks in freezing temps.

I’d definitely recommend this food truck if you’re looking for a well-priced, simple, and good meal. Very friendly and quick service. Awesome food. The fresh cut fries and burgers are delicious.

You have to love Will & Pop’s. The first I ever heard of Will & Pop’s was from a Groupon. So I figured I would give them a try for the good deal. The food was great, but I think there was some confusion on the Groupon deal with the guy that took the order. So I contacted Will and he told me to find them again and he would make up for it. I would say that is great customer service. With the food, the menu changes depending on the event, and what they have. But no matter what, the menu is always tasty. One thing I love is their fries. They have awesome fries to go along with their tasty burgers. Another thing is that when you go to chain places, their toppings are low quality, but not here at Will & Pop’s. You can even follow them on Facebook and Twitter so you can keep up with where they are traveling to. You can generally find them at most of the food truck rodeos around town. Plus you can always tweet them and Will will gladly tell you where they are, or their schedule. Friendly people, with great food. Good times, good times.

They came to our neighborhood pool for a Food Truck Fridays and this has definitely been one of my favorites. Hubby opted for the«Big Kev» and loved it. It was so juicy and delicious. I opted for something more simple and got the Poor Wilbur(bacon and tomato) grilled cheese and it was absolutely delicious. I am such a fan of comfort food and grilled cheese reminds me of my childhood — so put some yummy additions on it and sign me up. My daughter even inhaled the regular grilled cheese. Our friends were very happy with their selections too. Fries were yummy and crisp. Love that they source things locally. Will definitely keep an eye for their locations in the future.

At first when I ordered my food, I was a little surprised at how expensive my total was, but I have to say after getting my food it was well worth it! I had the bacon cheese burger and it was pretty amazing. It was a huge burger and a lot of fries and everything about the order tasted great. I hope to try the grill cheese next time.

Will is one of the nicest guys I’ve met on the food trucker scene. Their burgers taste amazing and their creations are unique. I would have them cater every opportunity I could get.

The food truck serviced the building I worked in. I was optimistic after viewing the menu on their website, but disappointed at the limited selection. The top 3 burgers I had selected were not available today. I ordered the big kev burger with chips. The burger came hot, and the bun nicely toasted. I felt it was light on the cheese, but really my biggest issue was the patty itself. It was on the dry side and under seasoned. I couldnt pick up any flavor besides ground beef that needed salt. The chips I was served came from a bag of lays, so nothing special there. Overall disappointed, but I would give them another shot with another burger.

I finally got a chance to try this truck over the weekend at Fullsteam. It did not disappoint! They had a lot of options written on their chalkboard menu on the side of the truck and it was hard to narrow down my selection. I ended up getting the Mash Up while Josh chose the Gangsta. The Mash Up was two cheeses(cheddar and pepper jack) topped with mango chutney and guacamole. I loved the sandwich — the spicy and the sweet were an awesome combination that I never would have thought would be so good together. Josh also liked his sandwich, which was topped with two cheeses and pulled pork. We also shared the kettle chips, which came in a very large portion and had a bunch of different types of chips(some that we couldn’t identify — but we’re pretty sure that some were made from beets, some made from sweet potatoes and some made from regular potatoes among them)! They were definitely different than any kettle chips I’d had before, but were pretty good. All in all it was a good lunch for a total of $ 15(my sandwich was $ 6, his was $ 8 and the chips were $ 1). Not a bad price, the only suggestion I’d have for them(which seems to be an issue with every food truck) would be to provide napkins! I would eat here again for sure!

Luckily for me, Will and Pop’s *popped* up in the parking lot at my workplace the other day. They have a great menu and really fresh, local, and delicious ingredients. I had the«Rasta»(jerk chicken, cheese, mango chutney) simply for the irony of it(most rastas are vegeterian). It was the bomb diggity. I just got back from Negril, JA and I didn’t have any jerk chicken as close to as good as Will and Pop’s. They make it the traditional fashion which is dry without any BBQ sauce. It played well with the mango chutney. The guys working the truck were really cool and friendly. Next time I’m going to try some of the dessert sandwich cuz they looked excellent.

How many different ways can you have your grilled cheese sandwich? Apparently, there is no wrong way to eat a grilled cheese. *high-five myself on that cheesy joke* **high-five myself again for making a cheesy joke on a cheesy joke** Oh I could go on… Will and Pop. I’m back! So the Hell burger from my last challenge is now obviously off the menu, but I did find other inspirations. Do you like it «Hipster» with mango chutney? Do you like it «Gangsta» on pulled pork? Maybe you are into«Hot Hippy Chick,» jerk chicken w/guacamole & habanero cheddar? Or perhaps you go «Ninja» style, slapping some pepper jelly on duck? Me? I will forever be an «Elvis» fan, and I think about peanut butter, banana slices and bacons, Love Me Tender between two grilled sourdough slices. Personally I love crispy bacons instead of chewy bacons in this, but I’m not All Shook Up about it. Some of W&P sweets are excellent as well. I love bread pudding, and looking forward to next time at Fullstream so I can try«Black Forest»

Out of all the Durham food trucks, this one and The Parlour are my favorites. I gotta say, between the trippy font, tie-dye décor, Zeppelin soundtrack, and the waist-length dreads sported by one of the guys in the truck, I suspect it began as an idea between guys over a couple blunts – Jay: «Like, dude, you know what would be *expletive* perfect now, dude? Like, the most awesome *expletive* grilled cheese sandwiches ever! With pulled pork and mango chutney and jerk chicken and other *expletive* crazy *expletive*!»(Followed by lots of lewd words and gestures about naked women eating them, or wearing them, or whatever.) Silent Bob: *nod while lighting up* I mean, they have a sandwich called«The Stoner.» A dessert sandwich with banana, peanut butter, and marshmallow. Hmm, wow. Despite not being high, I’m actually craving the sandwich while I write this review. Sandwiches are this food truck’s thing, and these sandwiches are fantastically delicious with hilarious names(Poor Wilbur = bacon + tomato). My favorite is the Hot Hippy Chick, which has jerk chicken, guacamole, and habanero cheddar. I’m a spicy girl who loves her spice, and the heat in this sandwich fits perfectly in the context of fresh, skillfully prepared ingredients. I never thought to describe a grilled cheese sandwich as a thing of soul-warming beauty, but… Will & Pop’s version is certainly that. The guys use local cheeses and meats, which makes me love them all the more. The truck travels all over the Triangle, but for Durhamites, you can frequently find it outside of Fullsteam on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings. Also, one of the guys, Pop’s(or Pop?), recently got into a bad accident, so this and other trucks are taking donations and contributing some of their earnings to pay for his medical bills. So show them some love.

What a slab of meat! Brit and I came out to the ‘CH’ for the Al’s Garage food truck meet up and arrived relatively late into the event. Blue Sky dining had tapped out, and was busy packing up, I’d already had Only Burger before, and I wasn’t feeling Mexican. Will and Pop’s was actually«closed» when we got there as they had turned so many burgers that their grill needed a rest. 30 minutes later they fired things back up and I made my way up to the truck. Many of the menu items had been stricken from the list. I managed to score an order for a Jalapeño Chedder Burger sans fries as those were fully depleted. When my name was called 5 minutes later I cracked the top on the box and was greeted with a luscious poppy seed bun, fresh red onions, a juicy and bright tomato slice and a fresh piece of lettuce. ¼ inch slices of jalapeño were arranged ontop of the melted chedder cheese which had embraced a hand pattied slab of thick ground beef. The burger was flavorful, the accompaniment rocked, and the kick the jalapeño and the cheddar provided made this burger a great addition to my waist line.

This place just might give Only Burger a run for their money! A great-looking truck with a chalkboard menu of variety. They had six burgers to choose from — plus a special«eat at your own risk,» «Hell Burger.» I asked the gal to tell me about it, and she summed up that it’s made with habaneros, and about 30 times hotter than the Jalapeño Burger. We chose the Jalapeño Burger. (Side note: Normally, I am not one to step down from a food challenge [Extra-zany-make you sob like a baby-spicy? Bring it on, says I.] However, I married a whitey, and we were splitting this burger. And I’m trying to be a more considerate wife [who is apparently not yet considerate enough to deface his weak-sauce spice handling in a public forum]). The burgers ranged a bit in price, with the Jalapeño Cheddar coming in at $ 6(no fries). It came with tomato, lettuce, onion, and pickle. And you could add your own condiments. The burger was big and beefy, and downright delicious! Juicy meat that was cooked just long enough. They source from Weaver Street and Cliff’s, so it’s cool to know they’re supporting some local businesses too!
