I’ve been looking for a new salon in the area and although I’ve tried several I was not satisfied until I came to Winmore. Besides being a great person Angela knows what she’s doing. I have finally found a place I’m comfortable being in and a stylist(although my hair doesn’t need styling) who is a true professional.

They have a lot of turnover at this salon. Each time I find a stylist that I like there, he/she leaves within a matter of months. The front desk staff are not very welcoming(they act like they’re doing me a favor to book me an appointment). Granted, I have high expectations for an Aveda salon. This one just doesn’t live up to them.

Great place. Cristian & Angela are very gracious hosts. Powell cuts my hair and always does professional and quality work. I recommend Winmore Salon and Aveda without hesitation.

Nick has done my hair twice — first to touch up new growth and then major hair cut. I have super thick heavy wavy/curly hair a several inches past my shoulders. Just moved here from out of state and was fortunate my previous stylist was willing to give me my Aveda color formula. Nick was willing to alter my color formula(it was a little too dark) and the results were impressive. He finished my color service with a sleek blow out.(The process of drying/straightening my hair is no small task 20 – 30 min.) I went back a couple of weeks later for a layered hair cut. Nick did an amazing job; he listened to my concerns and was completely confident he could make my hair more manageable without losing too much length. He was able to do what few stylists have been able to achieve — a stylish, manageable rounded layered cut. I’ll be a regular customer of Nick’s at Winmore Salon!

I hadn’t heard of this new Aveda salon before, but when a 50% Living Social coupon showed up in my inbox, I couldn’t resist. The $ 25 coupon was good for a $ 55 haircut with shampoo and style, and since I was long overdue for a cut and didn’t live too far away, I thought, «Why not?» I was very pleased with my overall experience. The salon wasn’t too hard to find, although it is somewhat tucked away in a newish development off Homestead Road in Chapel Hill. The salon is sleekly decorated in a minimalist way, with chairs for about 3 clients at a time. Christian(the German guy at the reception desk) has a pretty quirky sense of humour, and you’ll pick up on it even when you call to make an appointment. I was happy that I was able to book an appointment without too much of a delay(several days), whereas I find it’s not as easy to do that anymore with another popular salon I love in Durham! Nick, my fuchsia-haired stylist, was super. He took the time to really discuss how I wanted my cut and look to turn out. He didn’t balk when I told him I wanted ~5 inches cut off my long locks; usually stylists will ask you several times if «you’re sure» about your decision. He was pretty thorough during every step of the process, including blow-drying every last strand of hair and adding face-framing layers. I’m really happy about how my haircut turned out. As I left, I was thanked multiple times by(who I think was) the owner for coming. Sometimes businesses can be a bit turned off by coupons, but she was very gracious and thankful for my patronage. All in all, a great hair experience and I will probably be back, coupon or no coupon.
