Mitchell’S Hairstyling

I decided to try to get my dark hair as ginger as possible. Tanesha was my stylist. I told her what I wanted and we went through tons of swatches and found the right color. It turned out lovely. I’m actually going back on Tuesdays for some copper hilights!

I went to Tanesha on a recommendation from a friend. I wanted my grays retouched and my hair blow dried and styled. What I got was hot roots when your roots are lighter than the rest of your hair. One week later, my grays began to pop back out. I paid over $ 100 for this service and was told the wash and blow dry was extra. My daughter is a stylist with Paul Mitchell in Chicago and she told me to go back and ask her to re-​do it. I called several times and Tanesha was either not there or with a client. I left several messages and when she finally returned my call by the second week, she told me she would have to charge me to re-​do it. My daughter also told me she should have used gray coverage since I had gray hair. Tanesha told me she only uses gray coverage for people with 50 — 75% gray hair. I have about 15% gray coverage and enough to want it COVERED! She then told me I should have asked her for gray coverage. I told her I have NEVER asked her for gray coverage. My previous stylists simply KNEW by examining my hair to use gray coverage. She again told me since it was past the two week time frame, she couldn’t fix her mistake because she would have to fix everybody’s hair who asked after 2 weeks. Whatever happened to good customer service and being professional? I will NEVER go back to Tanesha or Mitchell’s again.

Tanesha is the best! I came to Mitchell’s wanting a natural, sun-​kissed look. I had never colored my hair before and was extremely nervous about doing so especially as a brunette wanting some blond. Tanesha listened to exactly what I wanted and could read me completely — and knew not to go too blond. It came out perfect.

I needed a hair cut and I chose this place based on a friend’s recommendation and let me tell you I was more than happy with the experience. I called and made a last minute appointment and they had no problem squeezing me in. The hairdresser was great, I wish I could remember her name but she was blond and and absolutely wonderful! I have stick straight hair and so it takes a careful hand to get an even cut all the way around and she did a wonderful job, I was quite impressed. Everyone was very friendly and made pleasant conversation the whole time. It’s more expensive then a cheap trim from great clips but definitely worth the extra for the service you receive! I absolutely recommend it!

Terrible experience! Worst haircut ever!!! And the «designer» got lots of excuses!

Tanesha is the only one I trust with my hair! I have dark hair, very curly, and prone to frizz. Tanesha managed to get my dark hair (think the color of a milk chocolate bar) literally white (I did chunks of blonde through my hair)! She gets my hair pin straight and is very good about communicating with you regarding EXACTLY how you want your hair cut before she does anything. She has really fair prices and is really good about communicating why things are what they are. The ONLY** piece of feedback I’d have is scheduling tends to run pretty tight (but I also believe that to be the receptionist maybe scheduling too close) so it’s very possible you’ll start a little late or run a little over.

I just got my hair cut here by moxie by Morgan. She did a wonderful job! I was a walk in and they took me in within 5 minutes because it was slow. Moxie took her time and explained how to better look after my hair etc. I will definitely go back

I enjoy visiting Mitchell’s about 3 times a year. For the last 15 months or so I’ve been seeing Courtney at each visit. She was recommended to me when my previous stylist left and she has done a fantastic job with my curly hair! I always leave feeling fabulously refreshed.

Nice tiered service hair salon. Pay by the grade of the hair stylist. Get better care and service from the higher grade cutters. The lower grade ones are good for kids and someone who doesn’t really care what hair they have.
I often look at the hair dressers themselves and see what they look like. I know it’s not scientific, but it gives me an idea of what kind of style they are going for. In general, the hair dressers here look like they have a modern and contemporary look.
