Went inside to get donuts. Stood waiting at the register. White dude with tattoo sleeves skips me and looks to another white dude standing 6 feet behind me and takes his order. I am not white. Wow.

I’ve been visiting this Dunkin’ Donuts regularly for the last three years for a morning shot of joe. I’ve had a range of different experiences here, and it often depends on who was on staff that morning. 3⁄5 The quality of the bagels and donuts varies depending on how long they’ve been sitting on the trays: my go-to Boston Cremes have been either divine or dry and stale. While catered orders made in advance are fresh and delicious, you’ll likely be left unsatisfied if you stop by and pick up leftover donuts. 3⁄5 If the quality of both the service and the freshness of the donuts improved, this Dunkin’ Donuts would merit a 4 out of 5 stars.

Not impressed. Workers didn’t know menu items, how to make it, or how to type it into the register. My coolatta was watered down before I got it. My friends pumpkin latte tasted like potpourri. The girl in front of me never got her bagel. Weak.

I love the convenience of this coffee shop. It is nestled in a very busy building with loads of other restaurants. It can be very difficult to find parking so them having a drive thru is a God send! The staff is always efficient and my coffee always come out the way I like it. No complaints!

The donuts were stale. They were so hard I couldn’t bite them, they were disgusting.

I have to agree with the person below who said that there are a lot of people who don’t speak English here. My order has been messed up many a time because of this and the confusion in what I am asking for. It’s a simple donut shop and I stopped going unless I really want a donut(there’s now a Krispy Kreme nearby!) Service is hit or miss. Most donuts are cold and they aren’t baked fresh, mostly shipped in so if they run out, they run out for the day.

Considering that Durham overall lacks good quality chain variety restaurants, this one does a great job in service and product quality. I visited once in November, and again in December — both times(mornings), the doughnuts were fresh and remained good hours after purchase. If you’re into great variety of doughnuts, you may be disappointed. This could be because of the small restaurant size. If you’re into enjoying good quality doughnuts, this is the place to go in Durham.

Don’t waste your time calling ahead for a large order. Four out of five times my order hasn’t been ready. Other then that not a bad location.

I lived in California for six years, where there was no Dunkin Donuts. I was so excited to see one near our new place, but now I regret coming here. We were there around 8:30 on a Friday morning, and they were pretty busy. The drive-thru had a line, as did the counter inside, but the service was pretty quick. I wanted one thing – a chocolate covered cream filled doughnut. We had gone in once already, in the evening a week before, and they didn’t have any. I decided that if we went in the morning, they’d have some in stock. Nope, they didn’t have any the second time we were there either. I thought that was pretty much a Dunkin staple? Oh well. My husband and I split a vanilla cream filled and a maple frosted doughnut, and he got a bagel with cream cheese. The doughnuts tasted okay but left a nasty aftertaste. The bagel was lukewarm and flavorless; he didn’t finish it. We left and went elsewhere to find drinks, since they only have bottled soda(no fountain). Overall, it was a disappointing breakfast, and I’ve learned to go elsewhere for my doughnuts.

Same as across town. No Bavarian or Lemon Filled. All the plain or other undesired you want. Why do I try?

Very fast service, although they will get your order wrong from time-to-time. I like that I can always find seating at this location, which makes for a convenient and quick spot to meet up or study(although you the longest you can park is the the 2-hr parking spots, if you can even find a parking spot during peak times) if you’re within walking distance. Iced coffee is always good, and delicious/satisfying sausage biscuits. Solid and convenient location, always clean.

I’ve been to this Dunkin a half dozen times now, five visits inside, one at the Drive-thru. Every time my husband and I plan on going I say«it wouldn’t be a trip to Dunkin without them forgetting something!» For example, my last visit two days ago: our half dozen donuts were correct, we got our bagel sandwiches just fine, but they forgot our coffees. The trip before: two incorrect donuts(lemonade instead of pumpkin pie). Before that: wrong coffee drink. Usually if an item is forgotten the cashier is apologetic and will make our drinks quickly, so it isn’t the end of the world… but if you want to get specific donuts, I would recommend going inside! I’ve had these same issues at three DD I’ve frequented in three cities, so I wouldn’t say this store is a poorly preforming one, especially since they are very close to a hospital and can be very busy. Order accuracy and the occasional forgotten drink aside, I’ll still come back 3 – 4 times a month and the staff are friendly.

I’ve eaten at Baskin Robbins in Fayetteville once years ago. On this visit, I sampled a few flavors before forcing myself to make a decision. I wanted a sweet crew cheesecake style ice cream. I didn’t find it but chose a caramel toffee ice cream. I didn’t know of any topping as the associate seemed to be less eagered to suggest anything with my one scoop of ice cream. Before checking out, the male associate suggested toppings. So turns out there’s a few choices including melted marshmellows sauce, caramel, snickers, chocolate syrup, pineapples, strawberries, and sprinkles. maybe a tiny bit more. I was surprised at the lack of topping due to yogurt shops having at least 20 toppings. I sat outside near Chipotle and enjoyed some sun. I wasn’t impressed with the ice cream at all. I probably won’t be returning here or any BR. Maybe I’ll give Dunkin Donuts a try.

i would not have known that there was a Dunkin’ Donuts if it werent for the sign. This place is hidden on the side of the building. But once indoors, plenty of seating. Good fresh selection of goods the day I went. Parking can be a challenge around lunch.

Being from the Northeast, I’ve been to countless Dunkin’ Donuts and there was a time not too long ago when there were 4 or 5DD locations within a five minute drive from my place. Suffice it to say, I have made my fair share of Dunkin’ runs! In my book, no cup of joe will ever quite compare to one from this fine institution. A lot of that is admittedly nostalgia, but I do think their coffee is actually pretty good. Aside from the Dunkin Donuts in Penn Station and the one on Route 35 in Belmar, NJ(#1 and #2 on the list of Worst Dunkin’ Donuts locations in the Universe, respectively), I’ve always had positive experiences. This location is no different. Unlike Lauren P., I’ve had nothing but positive interactions at the Erwin store with friendly staff and quick service(aside from when the Baskin Robbins side is getting hit hard on a summer evening). The coffee is solid as always, plus there’s a drive-through for when you’re in a rush but need your caffeine fix. The interior is also pretty spacious and always clean. The bottom line is you can’t go wrong grabbing some java, ice cream, or donuts after enjoying a meal at one of the other restaurants in the Pavillion East complex. Remember, though, that you may be better off hitting the drive-through sometimes as parking can be hard to come by during peak hours!

After a good lunch at Erwin Square I usually like to walk over to Dunkin Donuts for a coffee and donuts. Generally though as soon as I walk in I regret that decision. Up until recently, every time I’ve been there(maybe like 4 times) there have been people who don’t/can’t speak English and always screw up my order. Honestly, if I didn’t like the donuts so much I probably would never have come back. But time after time I forged through the issues(half a cup of half n half in my coffee, wrong ice cream scoops) and slowly learned the tricks to get the food I wanted. After my visit today though, the staff not only spoke English but were friendly too. Damnit, they may have been downright helpful! So maybe there have been changes or maybe it was a rip in the space-time continuum, but the people at Dunkin have seem to got their act together. This place is definitely worth taking off the«Places to Avoid» list.

This is a better than average Dunkin’ Donuts, with a drive-through. Open until 11PM. As it gets late your chances of getting extra doughnuts seems to increase. Parking is generally not so bad if you consider the additional lot behind the drive-through lane.

Doughnuts, ice cream(also a Baskin Robbins), coffee, reasonable & fast service, by Duke & Duke Hospital, and with a drive-thru: what more could you want? Parking is sometimes nightmarish at mealtimes, though.
