Not impressed with the service. Went in on a sunday, was told there is a 30 minute wait. Look around and there are 5 people waiting and about 10 maybe more tables open. Bar was empty. I asked what gives and they said the kitchen is understaffed. Well, ok. Understandable. But at least let everyone sit down and wait with a cup of coffee or something rather than making us stand in the tiny lobby next to the front door? They finally did set us down and it took about another 35 minutes for the food to come out. I will try this place one more time in the future hoping for a better rating and experience.

Typical Dennys fare, with fast, friendly service. We came here on the morning of the big snow storm and they were open. Gotta give them credit, we had snow tires, the staff didn’t. Appreciate their dedication!

So me and my boyfriend have been waiting on our order for a hour and thirty minutes now just to have the waitress come back and tell us to write down or order, so she can get it together, lol I can’t say anything about the food, I haven’t even tried it. The bad part is they not even busy in here! Understaffed and the waitress is clearly overwhelmed with the little bit of customer they do have, big waste of my time, its taking them forever to bring my debit card back and all im paying for is my drink! Wow if you looking for a job I’m sue they are hiring, sincerely unsatisfied customer

Let’s start with the building. The design of the entrance is horrible. No foyer means every time someone walks in a cold breeze blows through the place in the winter. Last is the service, It took us an hour to get our food. I could see the kitchen and the pass-through and noticed the waitresses standing there waiting for food. Looking at the flow of food it seemed like the plates were being cooked one at a time. Our waitress barely came back to the table and several times my coffee was empty. The food wasn’t right when it came out. I order a lumberjack slam that came out with ham burnt on one side. No apologies for the length of time and no check on the quality of food. There did not seem to be a shortage of staff and the restaurant was not busy with plenty of empty tables. We arrived at approximately 11AM on a Saturday. I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

I’m surprised at the 2 star rating. I’ll say this again as I have for other diner and family style restaurants. This is not a foodie place. This is a place you come to for comfort foods. The food is consistently good and the service is fantastic.

This is my first time dining at Denny’s. Overall I had a pretty nice visit. There was a 10 minute wait to be seated and the restaurant looked clean from a waiting area point of view. Tables and chairs are clean and in good repair. Windows table side however had debris and prints all over it. The restroom needed attention; un-flushed toilets, debris all over sinks and floors, and very sticky floors. Trash can is about half full. The restaurant has a sanitation score 98.5. The temperature is comfortable and the staff is friendly. Today is Memorial Day so the crowd was expected. The service received was friendly but not very attentive. The server had 4 tables and a party of 8. I ordered the bourbon bacon burger and seasoned fries. Along side, a stack of chocolate chip pancakes. The burger is rated a 2 on my 1 – 5 burger scale. The beef was tender but dry. This was a once frozen and precooked patty. The bun was also pre cooked and frozen stored. The bun was heavily buttered but not toasty. It’s topped with soggy bacon with grilled onions and mushrooms. The bourbon sauce was a nice touch to balance flavors. The fries were crisp and didn’t need additional seasoning. Tastes great with ketchup. The pancakes were fluffy but slightly undercooked. After a few good chews the batter effect set it.(Meaning it tastes of raw batter) Chocolate chips were a nice touch. My drink was plain water, it was refreshing and chlorine taste free. Overall, this is a nice establishment but the cleanliness needs attention. The food could be a tad better with simply fresher ingredients. It gets 2 out of five stars for my review.

The two stars are for the customer service… Other than that the food was just nasty. Terry L was my server he was great. The food was just plain tasteless. The pancakes were okay but I am not a pancake eater so to someone else it may taste great. Honestly I didn’t even want to complain about the food since I would have to pay for it anyway. This is my second time trying Danny’s(the same location) The first time was horrible but I like to give places a second chance. the customer service was great from the server. But the food once again was trash… BOB Evans is 10 min away give them a try.

Oh Denny’s where do I begin? Let’s just say my expectations were not all that high to being with, but I was pretty shocked with how many things were wrong or otherwise disturbing from a customer’s perspective. We had a party of six plus one little one so let’s just preface it by saying that groups can be challenging. It took us 20 minutes to be seated and another 15 for all six of us to get the drinks we wanted, most of us just asking for water. In fact, my water wasn’t filled up one time over the course of the meal. The best was that after we had waited 30 minutes for our food, the server came back and told one friend that they didn’t have the steak and eggs she ordered and she needed to put in an order for something else. This was after I, an 8 month pregnant lady, was about to eat my hand in hunger so you can imagine I was getting a little ticked off. A friend ordered a caramel coffee and basically got a regular coffee with whipped cream and a squirt of caramel on top not once but three times after sending it back each time. She had ordered it several times and said that basically whoever was in charge of making it didn’t actually know or care to follow the recipe. I ordered my bacon very well-done and when it was served on a plate with my eggs, the server stood there and waited while I ate the eggs so he could take the plate with the bacon back and throw it in the microwave for another 20 seconds which again, didn’t cook it to well done. I asked if he could just bring me fresh bacon but yeah, that would have just been asking too much. At the end of the 2 ½ hour breakfast we got a 20% off coupon to be used Monday-Thursday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Uh yeah, I won’t be using that. The manager did give us a discount after three of the six of us talked to him about how upset we were. But overall, if I could recommend a place you never visit looking for a meal in Durham, it would be this Denny’s. The end.

Great service from our waitress«Melissa» this morning! She really paid attention to detail. My breakfasts was wonderful, however, hubby’s pancakes were thick, under done and taste like dough! I told Melissa and she said, NOPROBLEM and replacetd them with French Toast! Other than that minor issue, PLEASE visit this location and ask for MELISSA… SHE’S THEBEST!!!

I ordered a skillet that was extremely salty. After a few bites I could not eat no more. I sent it back to the kitchen. The manager gave me a 10 percent discount instead of fixing the problem. by remaking the skillet with out salt. I am very disappointed that they didn’t resolve the problem correctly. I paid for food that was inedible. I only ate a few bites and was discounted a dollar instead of remaking the food. Also the coffee mug had lipstick on it. I don’t even want to give this place a 1 star. I got a carry out order, I come home and look in the bag it’s not what I ordered but what I ordered is on the receipt. I call them explaining the situation and the lady who answered the phone tells me it’s my problem because I didn’t check the bag and they wouldn’t remake my order when it’s this busy. I asked to speak to the manager and at first he was rude and questioning me. Finally he said he was going to remake my order. When we went back to get it the 2 ladies in the front told my boyfriend to «check the bag this time». My boyfriend and I both work in customer service and I vow to anyone that orders from me you will always get what you want due to the rude and inconsiderate people I had to deal with at this place.

Yeah, this is a typical Denny’s. But I just had to put in this note. I don’t know if it’s how the item just is, or if it’s this particular location that screwed up my order, but my coffee freeze thing was disgusting. It was pretty much frozen tap water, with maybe a teaspoon of coffee. Worst 4 bucks I’ve ever spent, DONOT i repeat DONOT get this particular item from this particular location. Aside from that, the service was very friendly, even with our obnoxiously loud group. And the food was A-Okay. It’s just that I had the terrible misfortune or ordering this one item at this location. David’s Value Per Price(VPP): 6 for the rest of the menu, 0 for the item I’ve been ranting about.

I’ve really been trying to give this place a chance but the service and management is horrible. I’ve really been debating calling cooperate on them. I had a server tell me off because I asked her if we could place an order. The main manager looks like a jerk and when the restaurant gets full he yells at his whole staff. Horrible place. Hopefully dennys can change this location before it goes under.

Uncooked chicken tenders were served to my wife. When returned, the waitress simply asked«so you want it fried harder?» My burger was given to another table meaning the rest of my group was eating for a good 15 minutes before I had my food, as they had to remake my burger since whoever they served it to ate it. When the burger came out, it was with the wrong side. The servers were nice, but the service overall was terrible and the food bordered on dangerous to eat. I would not recommend going to this location!

It’s Denny’s and I wasn’t expecting greatness. We were seated right away, so no wait problems on a Saturday morning. I ordered a breakfast skillet with chicken fried steak, and it also had potatoes and onions and peppers. I thought it was decent and at a good price($ 7.00, I believe). I also had coffee and OJ and they hit the spot. Service was prompt and efficient. Come with reasonable expectations, knowing it’s a Denny’s!

Had a so-so experience on my first visit and wasn’t sure if I’d want to give it another try. I did a survey per my receipt which offered me a free«slam» on my next visit so decided to give it another whirl. I’m sorry I did. Had a Terrible experience. Initially the staff is nice, but when I asked if they were shorthanded in the kitchen when it took 25 – 30 minutes for a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs & pancakes it was not a welcome comment. I was never approached again to ask if I needed anything or how my food was. My eggs were overcooked and the pancakes were gummy and tasted like cardboard was an ingredient. I think I’ve learned my lesson.
