This is a cheap, dirty little hole in the wall. Fast service and good value sums up its positive attributes. Not for vegans or credit card users.

Well, this was different. Country Junction puts the fast food concept to breakfast. Sort of. It’s like a combination diner and fast food stop. It’s an ala carte model. It’s a fast food thing. It’s hard to read the menu, written with brightly colored grease pencil. The board has both breakfast and lunch menus; so that’s partly to blame for the tough reading for a first-timer when people are lined up behind. Who needs this kind of stress in the morning? It’s a you-need-to-relax thing. For breakfast: Pick the eggs cooked your way, a meat, side, toast, or any combination of those things, or even the special. Like a fast food restaurant, you order and pay at the counter, and your food is brought to your table. There’s a steam table with some foods — like the oatmeal or grits or bacon — within viewing range. But for the cooked to order eggs and the food served hot, it’s a cafeteria thing. As I waited for my food, I lost count of the people who stopped by for to-go orders. Although there’s nothing highbrow about the food — you can see the Sysco label on the jelly packet — it’s still done well. It’s a plain-fare thing. Country Junction runs lean: styrofoam plates, plastic tableware and plastic cups(if you forego coffee and opt for water). There’s a minimalism — no salt, pepper, or condiments on the ordinary formica tables. Ask for them. I suppose that discourages people from making a free tomato soup with hot water and ketchup and a dash or two of pepper. Maybe this picnic approach is just a breakfast thing. This place is a different thing. It’s also a cash-only thing.

Solid breakfast place — I always like to hit up local diners whenever I’m out of town. Pretty diverse menu for such a small place. Everything I had was good. Great prices and friendly service too!

Review is for breakfast only: Fantastic value. The food is competently prepared and the price is out of this world! You get eggs your way, meat, potato/grits and toast. All for much less than a 5 note. Don’t get me wrong, the food is normal. There’s nothing fancy or unique about it. It’s about the value. There is not a better standard breakfast place out there for the price. Sounds like a commercial, but seriously, even if you hate it(which I doubt you will) you’ll be out the price of starbucks coffee. *** CASHONLY ***

This little place has been here probably longer than the 25 years I’ve lived in NC& not much seems to have changed but the ownership. It’s fast, cheap and a decent little breakfast place. Two eggs(any way you like), bacon, hash browns & toast were just $ 3.49 — can’t beat that with a stick! To say it’s nothin’ fancy is an understatement, but it’s clean and the food is pretty good for the price. When you come in it appears as if it’s a cafeteria with a pan of cooked bacon behind the glass ready to fill the next order. There’s a board on the wall of the choices. You place your order, pay & then they bring it to you in the fast food style booths. My eggs were perfectly cooked(over easy), as was the bacon. The hash browns seemed to be the frozen type that were too greasy for me, but the toast was perfect. Don’t know if they serve lunch, as I’ve only been here for breakfast. Hadn’t been here in years as my partner has said no way whenever I suggest it since the outside isn’t very appealing. Well, last weekend after a visit to the farmers market we headed to Mickey D’s for a quick bite for breakfast. It was jammed & everyone there seemed to be unhappy & waiting so we left. I said, close your eyes, I’m takin’ you somewhere else & don’t say no when we get there! Well, she liked the food at the Country Junction just fine!
