My husband and I are visiting Durango for a few days and decided to try this place for breakfast. Excellent choice to make the .5 mile walk. I ordered the veggie burrito, minus the broccoli with both green and red chili sauce. OMG! Incredible. My husband ordered the two egg breakfast with sourdough toast. He really enjoyed his food as well. Let me finish by saying the service we received was better than service we have received at other much more expensive restaurants. Job well done!

We decided to eat breakfast here because it was top rated in the breakfast/brunch category on Unilocal. The experience could have easily been made 5 star, since I was already expecting good food and service. I was quickly met with disappointment as our waitress, Melissa, was extremely unfriendly and dry. She did not smile once, until I asked her for her name after she brought us our ticket(likely at a fleeting attempt to salvage her image once she realized why I might want her name). This alone would not normally prompt me to write a review, however, I observed Melissa being very warm and personable with various other patrons. I do not quite know what to make of this, and it really did not sit well with me. Consistency is key! We travel frequently from Dallas and one of my favorite things is to chat with the locals, whether it be our waitstaff or the townspeople. Melissa had an opportunity to make our morning, but soured it instead. I couldn’t even finish my breakfast due to the experience.

Great little place. Everything fresh. Small building. Two person kitchen churning out food as fast as possible. Everyone very polite and great attitudes.

Came here for an early breakfast. Got here before it got too busy. Ordered an omelette(sausage/bacon/cheesy goodness) comes with hashbrowns and a homemade bisquit. First place that I liked their coffee. Service is fast and prices really reasonable. It’s a must if visiting before you head out for a hike or ski excursion.

Better than average breakfast. Friendly staff. Very reasonable prices. Decent coffee. They have almond milk. Limited gluten free options. The hollandaise has gluten in it, which was a big disappointment for my gluten-free daughter who was very excited to have eggs Benedict. Also they don’t have gluten-free bread l, but they do have GF pancakes.

Don’t like this place. Everything seems undercooked and service wasn’t great either. The menu is not that large and vegetarian options are on the low side. Made for a terrible start to my day.

The blueberry pancakes were delish. They’re homemade and definitely are in a ranking of their own. I also ordered the Southwest Benedict — it was alright, but didn’t taste exactly as I imagined. I would most likely just get the traditional Benedict next time… Or stick to something sweet, and try the French toast.

Great breakfast. I had the eggs and local sausage. Breakfast sausage was tasty and the chorizo was nice and spicy. My wife had the eggs Benedict with green chiles and loved it. Local honey and jam on the table. Ordered a couple of cinnamon rolls to go to take with us. Great breakfast, great value. I’ll definitely return when I’m back in Durango.

The College Drive Café is a bit off of Main Street but worth the small walk. You might have to wait a bit but that is ok because the endless cup of coffee is available to you. We had the Southern Benedict and Anasazi Benedict both were delicious! Although, if your from New Mexico and you see it comes with red or green chili don’t get to excited because it definitely isn’t hot or flavorful. The wait staff are friendly, attentive and very busy. They are able to turn tables over quickly but yet not make you feel rushed. If your looking for a nice, «home cooking» type of breakfast or brunch The College Drive Café is worth a try!

Best Eggs Benedict in the entire town! No question about it, from many of the breakfast options in Durango, this one is a bit on the lighter side and a bit healthier than most. But fear not my fellow fat lovers, their gravy and any of the Benedict’s are full of yummy calories you’ll be sure to regret eating every savory bite at a time… I’m not saying you’re gonna’ regret eating here, cuz that’s certainly not the case this is a staple among locals and tourists alike. It’s a smaller place and often times a wait on the weekends so be sure to give yourself a little wait time buffer if you have morning plans to follow, but trust me, it’s worth the wait!

Came on a Wednesday morning, I had the 2 chicken chili tamale with over-easy eggs, beans, 2 pancakes. First, off the pancakes are delicious! Huge and buttery, with a light creamy taste but don’t become sweet mash cakes like other restaurants. The eggs were a little over cooked, somewhat cold, but nice. The green chili came from a can and was not spicy, at all. The tamales, were typical and generic(I come from a Pueblo tribe) so I expect better. Beans and the garnish of tomatoes and lettuce both needed some salt or seasoning. The servers and staff were beyond amazing however. They lighten the mood and warm you with a smile. Breakfast is exceptional for the cost and I will be returning for those pancakes and to try their hollandaise.

Came to College Drive Café after reading the reviews and we are glad we did. Popular place with very friendly staff. We were told there was a 15 minute wait m, but were seated with a smile within 5. At first glance the place looks pretty basic with natural wood walls hanging local artists work available for sale. Indirect tract lighting with some personalized items on the walls would help with a warmer atmosphere, but it’s balanced by a diverse menu of healthy and hearty options. I love seafood and opted for the seafood Benedict, but would recommend their pancakes or omelets instead. They used popcorn shrimp which left a lot to be desired. The pancakes, on the other hand, were fantastic. They use Pepsi products, which is perfectly fine unless you’re a soda snob. The bathrooms were very clean and accessible down a couple stairs inside next to the kitchen. Everyone at the front desk said, «Have a great day.» as we left the restaurant. I’d definitely recommend this place to another.

College Drive Café offers a pretty decent breakfast menu offering everyting from omlets, egg scrambles, eggs benidect and pancakes. I came here looking for a hearty breakfast before heading on a road trip back home and when I arrived here on a Sunday morning the place was packed and you can tell this is the kind of place all the locals come to. Anyways the portions were pretty big and the food was overall pretty decent. I wasn’t a fan of their red or green chile but the omlet and fried potatoes were really good here. Overall this place is pretty ok not the best breakfast I have had and not the worst.

I had the pancakes. The menu states that they make them from scratch and don’t use a mix. I didn’t really expect that would make such a difference in the taste, but it did. The pancakes were delicious and they were huge too and the waitress mentiond that they were very large. But I was glad I had two of them. My husband had the Mexican Benedict and I was able to sample it. Chili sauce was very good and the fresh spinach layered in with the eggs was excellent and a really good touch. The pan fried potatoes were very good but honestly they were the least exciting of the whole meal. The little girl at the adjacent table had pancakes also. I was very jealous because her pancake was shaped like a rabbit and had bananas, grapes and strawberries decorating it. Adorable! Friendly service, too.

Excellent breakfast at a good price. We found this place by searching Unilocal of course! This is a hole in the wall place with wonderful food and great service! Will definitely visit again when in Durango. Hand down the BEST sausage gravy I have ever had!

The One Where Sandy and Siblings Brunch Before Skiing. I love breakfast food and when I find a place where the reviews are high and the venue is ONLY open for breakfast/brunch/lunch… I think I’ve struck gold! There was a lil’ wait because the place is small and super cozy. The menu was full of options! They had a scramble section, benedicts, omelets, specials, egg-less, etc. I finally decided on the F.L.C scramble, which was diced chicken with tomato and mushrooms scrambled with eggs and topped with cheese. It was DELISH! It also comes with a carb of your choice and I got their buttermilk biscuit. I don’t know how they do it, but Durango’s got the best biscuits I’ve ever had! Their home-style potatoes were amazing and filled up half your plate. I wasn’t able to finish mine. What’s not to miss is their strawberry jam that is already on your table. I can be wrong, but it looks homemade(and is absolutely amazing!). Since all the reviews raved about their pancakes, I had to order their blueberry pancakes. Luckily I did because they were a hit! It was cooked perfectly with a bit of a slight crunchiness at the edge. Very fluffy and the blueberries were plentiful. My sister ordered their biscuits and gravy and loved it. I was able to sample a few bites and I have to say… they know how to make a good sausage gravy. Overall, very satisfying meal. I thought everything was bigger in Texas, but the portion size here is about similar to ours. Friendly folks and trust me when I say this is one breakfast joint you shouldn’t miss out on!
