McNamara’s Pub & Eatery

My 1^st time here supporting a school fundraiser and it was an unfortunate one. They weren’t packed but it took almost 30 minutes for a meal that’s a standard breakfast because of the fundraiser but the response I got was that they’re short staffed. That wouldn’t have been a problem except I saw people seated after us eating… just be honest. In addition to that the food was barely luke warm. I thought I knew who my server was but that person only brought drinks, someone else brought the food and a 3^rd person asked if we needed anything else and took our plates. Looking at the food left on both our plates, I would’ve expected someone to at least ask was everything okay, can I get you something else… something! If it wasn’t for the fundraiser I wouldn’t have paid.

Good Irish-​themed restaurant and bar. Given the number of options in DuPont, this place has a decent happy hour vibe.

Three friends and I went on a Wednesday evening for dinner. We got there a little after 4 pm so there was plenty of seating. It did get noisy later. Our server was Jacob & he was excellent. The food was served timely. I had Kung Pao chicken tacos and they were very good. It came with a green salad & some type of lemony vinaigrette on the side which I didn’t care for so you may want to ask about dressings. I would definitely come back.

My husband & I had an early dinner here on Saturday (1÷23÷16) afternoon — and we were quite pleased! my husband had the shepherd’s pie and we split a plate of ribs. the salads were tasty, and the rest of the meal was great. took leftovers home for dinner the next night.
we have been to several of the Farrelli’s and have mixed experiences, so we were glad the food and service were better than expected here. Sad to see some poor reviews; we’re hoping that when we visit again, it will be at least as good as the first time.

Checked this place out recently, and man was I impressed. Started out with the totchos, which are tater tot nachos and they are ridiculous. Cheese all over, tots just a little crispy, perfect (option to add bacon as well if that’s your thing). Next was the shepherd’s pie which was perfectly cooked and came with soda bread. If you’ve never had soda bread, do yourself a favor and get some asap. The pie itself was delicious, gravy was thick and the colcannon crust was prefect with just a hint of brown. Highly recommend

Loud pub/​restaurant in the standard franchise-​type pub/​bar theme. Nothing more, luckily, nothing less. Rueben wontons were tasty but you won’t get out for less than 1000 calories and $ 15

Love this place. Great ambiance, service is always prompt and friendly. Good, consistent food. This is our go-​to place.

I usually have the black and blue burger and its has a great flavor. Kind of pricy but the bar area is comfortable.

Kinda underwhelmed with the service and food. However they do have some good beer (some craft, some more main stream) and in large cheap quantities! they also do beer blends!

Myself and some co-​workers went here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It seemed fairly quiet when we walked in and were asked to seat ourselves. Our server was nice and attentive, but the food was underwhelming. I ordered the Guinness stew, as did one of my co-​workers, which were promptly sent back to the kitchen. All of the vegetables were still raw and inedible in stew format. The word stew indicates everything should be cooked together, and resemble a thick soup, which definitely was not the case.
The other dishes ordered were the chicken fried steak and the bangers and mash. The chicken fried steak and the bangers and mash were average at best.

I have no words. The breakfast was cold and the food was over cooked. I wouldn’t recommend this place for breakfast.

Went here for Saturday morning breakfast. We seated ourselves and ordered drinks almost right away. They have a wide breakfast selection and I ended up making my own omelette with 4 ingredients of my choosing. I had asked for only a little bit of cheese but it came with more a lot more cheese than I had expected. Prob my fault and should have been more specific. I also ordered the side of potatoes which were nice and crispy.
Overall– I was satisfied with the food and our server was very friendly. Would come here again if I’m ever in town again.

We just had the worst service I’ve ever had.
Shauna was our server and I’m pretty sure it was her first day working in a restaurant or customer service ever. Every interaction, which were few, was as though someone had told a dead baby joke that hit too close to home before she walked to our table. So awkward. No beer knowledge, brought half of the food out way before the other half, etc. I would love to encourage you all to go there, but just avoid her section. I eat out a lot and this tips the top with bad service.
Also the food was mediocre at best.

Oh McNamara’s. We have frequented this fine establishment with mixed experiences. The last two times, however, we actually complained and talked to the manager. It’s like the more you go, the worse it gets.
I suggested Mc’s to eat at when my parents came to town from Arizona. Our food didn’t come out for an hour and 15 minutes. No, seriously. I will show you the screen shot. We were about to leave, but out came our food. My mom’s salad had dirt in it, like they failed to wash the romaine. That pretty much did it for everyone.
I asked for the manager. Mr. Hipster-​Gauged ears man came over and apologized. He said that they had call outs and our server was new. I get it, but that was the excuse LAST time. You only get to pull the «lack of servers/​new server» card once per customer. I didn’t understand why he wasn’t helping the new server who was apparently not managing her tables well. Help her fill drinks. Help her run plates. Check on the tables. The only time I saw him the entire time was when he was walking across the restaurant carrying a latter. Whatever you need the latter for could have waited… I guarantee it.
Anyway, sad to say it, but I’m staying away from this place for a long time. I am embarrassed that I took my parents here.

3 ½ stars for me. This is the place I go when I need breakfast since it is the only place that opens early in DuPont ! I really like the food. The only thing that I don’t like is the very slow service even when there is barely any customers. So if you are in a rush, don’t dine in. By that I mean when u r eating in, be prepared for food to take 45 mins to come out. However, I do like the food a lot and will always eat here when I’m looking for food in DuPont

I’ve been for a few business meetings, and their food is okay — think pub grub. I like their breakfasts, and the service is good. The other day I had a Reuben that was good and an ice cold Boddingtons. What moves this place from three stars to four stars is the tremendous amount of support they give our service members. And a lot of service members eat there. I’m a fan.

Excellent service. Decent food. The French toast dippers from the kid’s menu was a pretty big portion of food for a kid. The corned beef hash was ok… Definitely a bit on the greasy side… Perfect hangover food!

Definitely my favorite Irish joint around the area. Solid beers on tap with great deals during happy hour. It’s a very inviting and warm place during football games!
