My only compliant is the dollar to cake ratio. Other than that, these folks make a damn fine product. Some cakes are certainly better than others, so don’t let a bad slice get you down.

I usually don’t like cake or even eat cake unless it’s my birthday lol, my boyfriend actually introduced me to this place && now is its literally the only cake I will eat! The slices are huge so it’s definitely worth the price & I can’t even begin to describe this magical recipe… I’ve tried all the flavors and each one is extremely delicious!! This is Officially my favorite cake spot I won’t go anywhere else! I gave them 4 stars because the only thing they need to improve was good customer service :/the male employee that works the front usually has an attitude or comes off a bit rude when you ask a question. Other than that I would have gave them a 5 :)

Its not great. Its expensive but the quality isnt there to back up the cost. The cream cheese frosting is the best part of the cake/cupcakes. Its purpose is to overwhelm the taste buds and take attention away from the flavorless cake. The frosting is overloaded with sugar and the cake have very little substance. The«white chocolate» is actually a vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting. The carrot cake isn’t bad, but the frosting ruins it. The«red velvet» is another vanilla cake with red food coloring and doesn’t taste anything like chocolate. Piece of Cake caters to people with the mentality that the more expensive something is the better it must be, relieving these sheep from any obligation they might of had to criticize and think for themselves.

So I have tried a couple of different cake slices so far, and it was funny because no matter the flavor or how old it was, it had the same crumbly texture. But it doesn’t seem dry to me… it actually seems fairly moist. But it is so soft and crumbly. How in the heck do they manage to cut the slices? Because these are thick, 3-layer cakes. The first time, I tried a strawberry cake slice. It was a few hours old, at least(fiancé brought it home from work). Today, Piece of Cake was selling cake slices at my work. They actually had a ton of flavors(I saw plain — I assume this is vanilla, caramel, strawberry, white chocolate, key lime pie, coconut, red velvet, chocolate, cookies n’ cream and probably others I am missing). I bought a coconut slice for $ 5. Not sure if it was the normal price. It was a fairly large piece, and I assume somewhat fresh. It still had that crumbly texture though… can’t get past it. It’s just puzzling to me. Now, I wouldn’t write them off completely. I see they have an apple pound cake, which I would definitely try sometime. I am curious to see if a heavier cake such as pound cake would have that same crumbly-ness. Anyway, seems like I’m not the only one hung up on the texture.

First off, they deliver, which is awesome! It was so nice to be able to send something like this instead of flowers for a birthday. I was told the delivery fellow was especially nice, and waited until my husband came to the lobby to hand it off. Next, the white chocolate with nuts is so fricking delicious. It was moist and the flavor was fabulous! If you even have a hint of love for citrus desserts, I would highly recommend the key lime cake. It will be my choice in the future. It could be one of the best things I’ve ever tasted.

Absolutely delicious cakes. You can tell they are baked from scratch and each flavor tastes like it should(instead of each flavor tasting like it comes from the same batter with different stuff added in). My only complaint about them is that they refuse to decorate their cakes at all, won’t even write«Happy Birthday», nothing. Not even for an extra fee. So you get a birthday cake for someone for $ 30+ and you have to write on it yourself. Seems like a silly business move. I know they focus on flavor, but all I’m asking is for a few words in icing be written across the top of the already finished cake…

I first heard of Piece of Cake from a coworker who raved about this place. Having the sweet tooth that I have I had to try it. In the beginning, try as I might I said I wouldn’t get addicted. The lies I told myself. I wanted Piece of Cake all the time after that first heavenly bite of Red Velvet. The cake was moist and the frosting was sweet but not too sweet. The cupcake to frosting ratio was evenly distributed. My Mom got a chocolate cupcake that was equally as tasty. After sealing the deal with our favs we decided to explore more flavors, cookies & cream, coconut, strawberry. All were fabulous! Then the fall season came. It seems like when the cold came, the crumbs came. Every piece of cake I’ve had since about September 2014 has been a dry, crumbly, not good enough to finish mess. I’m not sure if the bakers have changed, perhaps they’re selling 3 day old cake? I’m not sure what it is but I’ve tried my hardest to give them another chance. Even tried the German Chocolate Cake last week and was just as disappointed. My Mom makes the best German Chocolate Cake from scratch darling and it is to die for! Piece of Cake’s German Chocolate Cake, no lie, tastes just like Duncan Hines out of your local grocery stores cake aisle. While I haven’t tried their cookies or brownies, I can’t speak on those so you’re on your own but that cake? Absolutely not.

Oh how I LOVE Piece of Cake and how my waistline despises me afterwards. I frequent this location and the one in Decatur. I prefer this location because it has a swankier feel. Piece of Cake is great for ladies like me who can appreciate a great cake slice and not a wimpy cupcake.(Don’t worry they have those too) Strawberry, white chocolate, caramel, pound, banana, key lime, carrot ugh I’ve never had a piece I didn’t like. Plus the slices are massive, it can easily feed a good two or three; or a greedy one. For the non cake lovers, which I don’t see how you would come here searching for something other than cake… they have ice cream pints/gallons, cheese straws, cookies, bars, probably lots of other things but I head straight for the cake. Thank goodness they’re closed, I would go in my pj pants right now and get a slice lol.

If you like dry and crumbly cupcakes these are good, but I like my cupcakes to hold together while I eat them. The cupcakes that I bought from Piece of Cake crumbled into a giant mess in my lap when I took a bite. I’m also extra disappointed because I bought the cupcakes for an 8-year old’s birthday party. Such a buzzkill!

One of my coworkers let me try a piece of white chocolate cake from this place and it was so good! I sent my hubby to get my own slice(white chocolate) and it did not disappoint. I wish they had a location in the ‘burbs as I’m not in Atlanta very often but I definitely plan on ordering a whole cake for either a birthday or our anniversary. Totally worth the drive.

Dryish crumbly cake + convenient location = good cake spot for Dunwoody I feel out of place with all the 5 star ratings this place is getting. I’m sure everyone has their idea of a great cake. I like my cakes to be moist and not crumbly. Every bite I took needed to be warshed down with some milk. I’m sure this cake is perfect for some people but it wasn’t for me. Employees were extremely nice and welcoming. This is the end of the review

This cakery is located inside of a shopping center that also has Babies R Us and Michaels. They are nicely nestled and tucked away behind Happy Sumo and Chick Fil A. I absolutely love and adore this Atlanta based cakery(cake bakery) franchise. They have all sorts of great cakes and other products and flavors to choose from. I have first heard of this cakery(cake bakery) when my brother purchase a whole Red Velvet cake from them for my own 20th birthday. I went to this location of Piece of cake about a week ago and I will say that the inside is adorable. Their prices for their whole cakes varies by inch and layer. They now sell and have gluten free products. They also sell cupcakes as well as cookies, brownies, and cheese straws. I have never tried any of their other products at all yet. But, I am sure that they all taste as good as their Red Velvet. Their products make excellent gifts for loved ones or just for yourself. When I went to this Piece of Cake cakery, there was only one lady working there. She was extremely professional, kind, and quick. This place is truly amazing. My experience here was great. The inside of this place is truly immaculate and well maintained. They also have other locations all throughout Atlanta which I find to be absolutely convenient. Their products are just a little bit pricey, but totally worth it(IMO). I definitely do recommend this place.

I’ve been a fan of Piece of Cake for several years now. The strawberry cake, which is only available a few times a year, is one of the best cakes that I’ve ever had anywhere. The chocolate layer cake with chocolate frosting; the red velvet cake; white chocolate layer cake; and carrot layer cake are also delicious. Piece of Cake is set up more for pre-orders than walk-in traffic, so be sure to place a cake order in advance. If you wait until the last minute, Piece of Cake usually has cupcakes available in the store. They are not quite as good as the actual cakes, but they are still very tasty. The box that the cake comes in is also attractive. Great packaging and great cake makes for a happy birthday or special occasion cake.

I LOVE their White Chocolate cake! And their Caramel Cake! H*ll, all of their cakes are sooo good. I got a White Chocolate cake for my birthday this year, and I made the right bakery choice. Last year, I got a popular Rainbow Cake from a popular Atlanta bakery and the taste was not so great(though I love that particular bakery, I’m sorry that rainbow cake is not the business). So, this year I made sure that the cake I ordered was going to be delicious. And, a Piece of Cake’s White Chocolate Cake hit the spot! My fiancé isn’t even a big sweets person, but he kept eating this cake. I also got a large caramel cupcake, and I ate that sucker in the car. It was so good. I have noticed that their large cupcakes taste a lot better than their small cupcakes, as their small cupcakes tend to be a little too dry and dense. But, if you stick with the cakes, large cupcakes, and cake slices you’ll be really happy.

I wasn’t sure if I had to order in advance or they’d have some cake slices and cupcakes for sale. When I walked in they had a small selection of cake slices, cupcakes, scones, etc. for sale. FOOD: I had 2 large cupcakes — the chocolate cake with white icing and the Oreo cupcake. Both were delicious moist cakes with cream cheese frosting, which I don’t prefer. Also, each large cupcake were $ 2.95 each which is a little pricey. Next time I’ll try the cakes.

This has quickly become my favorite cake destination. This location has a good selection of slices of cakes as well as cookies, cupcakes, and mini-cupcakes. The baked goods are always fresh and I have not yet been disappointed by any of the flavors. This location also offered special orders and whole cakes for pick-up, and gift baskets etc.(You can even pre-place your order online first for large orders). The store is located next to the dry cleaners(don’t park in the 15 minute dry cleaners spot, they get pretty angry about it) on the side of the shopping center by the baby’s R us(watch out for running toddlers!) and the Michael’s.

I rarely come on here to post a review but figured that I needed to after stopping by earlier today to grab some yummy goods. After fighting my way through rush hour traffic, I pulled into the plaza in which Piece of Cake is located. The only problem was that the plaza was large with lots of stores. And apparently I made the wrong turn(ask my sister, who had the gut feeling that we should have turned the other [right] way and I ignored her intuition) and I only had 5 minutes until closing time. I quickly called to tell them that I was in the plaza and lost. The nice young lady directed me to the bakery and assured me that they’d still be there. I whipped my car into the parking space(almost scrapping the nearby car) and quickly ran inside. I was met with big and small cupcakes alike and a shelf with slices of cake. Due to the reviews that I’ve read about PoC’s red velvet, I had to grab a piece(not a big fan of it generally, like L J.) and I also threw in a strawberry cupcake for good measure. I was in and out(and respected that they were closing up shop for the evening) and could not even wait to leave the parking lot. I dug into the moist-looking red velvet cake slice. Not sure, but I think I heard voices sing in unison from the heavens above. Wow, what an amazing cake! The cupcake was good as well, but I preferred my slice of red velvet. As typical, I don’t love cloyingly sweet frosting and you’ll find that in most cakeries here in the South. So I scrapped some off(maybe a sin?) and just ate the cake with the little bit that goes between the layers. Definitely one of the better cakes that I’ve had. If you’re in the Perimeter area and you love cake, well, stop reading this and find the Babies ‘R Us plaza and shove your face full with cake. Because I certainly did.
