Goodyear Auto Service Centers

Over a year later and the situation was never resolved. I drove past this shop back in May and the building has been leveled. I am guessing their poor business ethics finally caught up with them.

I’m extremely disappointed at the service here. I made an 11:30 am appointment. I checked in at 11:40 and they told me to come back in an hour. An hour later I come back and they tell me they haven’t started yet. I leave and come back after another 40 minutes. The lady tells me it won’t be too much longer. I take a seat and another 20 minutes go by. I finally get up and ask what’s going on and am told it’ll be another 15 minutes because the filter just got here. I’m sorry? The filter just got here? Is this not something you keep in stock? Finally after 2.5 hours I check out and they tell me it’s because I have a special engine in my Mazda and they were not prepared for that kind of technology.

After years of meticulous maintenance, went here for new tires. They disagreed with the specialists I used and said I had brake problems. After these guys re-​did my brakes and tires I had serious problems in the cold North. And when I asked questions they started talking lawyers and Macy hired specialists tearing my vehicle apart to blame other things… underlying threats… I recommend avoiding.

I had a flat tire on ¹⁄₂₈ and drove to Goodyear by Perimeter Mall in Atlanta, GA because I thought it was the nearest one. I was there about 2:30 and left at 4 pm and went home. Next morning, I saw the same tire had less than 30 lb meaning there is small leak somewhere. Took it to another tire repair shop neaest my home, Jim Ellis on 1÷29÷13. 2 days later on 1/​31, Thursday, I called the Goodyear manager and told him about the tire repair job by them that did not hold. I waited 2 days before calling to make sure what Jim Ellis did worked this time. Jim Ellis had to pull the old one out repatch the same spot. The manager at the Goodyear said, I need to come in to get the credit because they need to swipe the card for credit. I was there on Saturday for credit but Manager was out for lunch. The guy made a copy of Jim Ellis receipt and took the Goodyear Receipt#, and said it would happen over the phone to complete the credit transaction. So I called 3 hours later and spoke to the manager that I was there. the manager said «I can’t give credit without credit card #» so I need to give him the card # over the phone which I did. Today, 2÷12÷13, no credit yet. What a hassle I had to go through with these guys. The time I waisted for tire repair done right and trying to get credit but still no credit. Never again will i take my flat tire to Goodyear by Perimeter Mall. The manager sounds irritating over the phone. It’s not my fault that I had to go to Jim Ellis for a some good repair work and cheaper too.

I have had some very bad experiences with other auto repair places in the Sandy Springs area but I have been coming here for years now and have never been surprised by charges or felt like I was being sold something that I didn’t need. In fact, I once took my car here for a very large repair job and they actually let me know that the part was still under factory warranty and that I could take it to the dealership and have it fixed for free. In addition to honesty and great customer service, they are open every day which makes a weekend oil change super easy and convenient. I love these guys!

Last weekend, on a Saturday evening around 5:45pm, the belt broke on my car… I’m an auto guy myself, but I couldn’t replace the belt myself since my condo complex prohibits repairs in the parking areas, and I didn’t have a jack to hold the engine in place while taking out the motor mount to do it.
These guys saved my butt… Granted I had to putter home that evening with no power steering and almost overheated, but knowing they were open on Sundays AND I could pay for repairs on my Macy’s Card made me even happier.
I called AAA, they towed me (for free, under 5 miles) since I have a basic membership, AND I got a 5% discount on services at this location. They had my car ready in under 2 hours and were very friendly. They also fixed a couple of minor things under the hood I didn’t realize were problems at no additional charge. The manager even took it upon himself to make me feel comfortable in the fact that he personally inspected everything else and alerted me to other minor problems I may need to address in the near future.
Overall the best auto service center experience I’ve had in years…
