A great NY style pizza. I recommend the meatball pizza. The meatball is cut as the topping and is delicious. The cheese on the pizza is awesome. It does get crowded on the inside, because where the crowd piles in is where the food is good.

I order from here a lot because it’s one of the closest places to my home, and I’ve found a lot of things are either hit or miss. I’ll give a brief review of some of the things I’ve tried. Although I have had some things I didn’t like very much, I continue to try new things from here because I’ve been impressed by some other dishes as well.
Tuscana wrap: bordering on being inedible. Very salty and greasy and just not appetizing. Sounds delicious in theory but is quite gross.
Tortellini bolognese: bland, flavorless and dry. I wasn’t a fan, but that applies to a lot of the pasta dishes I’ve had from here. The lasagna is watery & most of the other pasta dishes I’ve ordered (stuffed shells and manicotti) have been greasy and bland.
Pizza: I did enjoy the pizza I had from here. I got a plain cheese (with regular sauce) and ricotta as the topping because that’s my absolute favorite kind of pizza. It was crispy, the cheese was delicious and the size of the pizza was huge for the price.
Sandwiches: The cold sandwiches are usually pretty good. I like the prosciutto, capicola and provolone the best. They’re HUGE and I get two meals easily out of one sandwich. The hot subs, such as the cheesesteak and eggplant parmesan, are also delicious. The eggplant is always covered in cheese and sauce and tastes absolutely amazing.
Desserts: The tiramisu is frozen. Mine had ice on it and I was a little put off by it. The cheesecake is good but tastes premade and it’s nothing special. The cannolis, however, are INSANE. They are SO good and I get them every time I order from here because they’re DELICIOUS. They’re huge and filling and just incredible. Not too sweet. Just perfect.
Salads: Underwhelming. I’ve tried most of them and none of them were worth ordering more than once. Just typical pizza-​shop salads. Bulky, dry and unappetizing to look at.
Appetizers: The onion rings are delicious. Chicken fingers are delicious, garlic knots are amazing. The fries taste like frozen ones that came out of a bag, and they also tasted very undercooked when I ordered them.
Overall I do like this place and generally stick to the things I know I’ll like, such as their sandwiches. They’re not great for pasta and their food in general is quite hit or miss, but I still do plan on ordering from here on nights when I don’t feel like going out to get food.

Hands down best pizza in Dunedin. Friendly staff too. Plus the luch special for 2 slices and a drink is great! Love this place.

Best pizza in Florida. I was transported to New York… Also the other menu items are superb. We take out at least once a week. When you eat in you are treated like family…

I ordered a Stromboli. I didn’t think it was very good. It was just lots of dough and cheese. All the meat and onions were clumped together in the middle of the huge mess. The service was very mediocre. A warm body at the register. The sauce was good. I might give them another shot and order a pizza.

Franky keeps it fresher than a juvenile delinquent’s mouth. Great pizza and great place all around!

I absolutely love this place. Its so good, i always order the same thing and im always super happy. It gets better each time I have it. No need to try anything else. Very friendly staff makes you feel at home. Always quick service.

My husband and I ordered delivery Friday night. I got the lasagna dinner which was very watery as if it was from frozen and it also has a vague lemon taste. The calamari app is good as well as the bread. And there is no denying the tiramisu is frozen. It actually had ice on top and was frozen solid in the middle.
Sadly I’m not impressed with my dinner and we won’t be ordering from your restaurant again. We ordered because people gave good reviews so I don’t know what was up with the quality tonight. I sent this in an email because I didn’t want to post publicly In case this wasn’t your usual quality but you have not acknowledged. I just know I won’t be spending my hard earned money on your food. I work too hard for that. I own part of a business so I know the importance of quality. I would be ashamed if I provided one of my customers with something like this.
Have a nice night and I do hope this was a fluke because honestly the lasagna is not edible.

Not sure who’s been reviewing this place, but it’s horrendous. As a courtesy, we called 1 hour in advance to pick up a pizza at a specific time as it was close to their closing time. As repayment, we received a cold pie that was made wrong. Additionally, mild chicken wings were overdone, dry, and really really spicy. In short, nothing was made right. The order was clearly started when we called versus timed with our requested pickup. Wouldn’t touch this place again.

4÷27÷15 — Ate at Franks Pizza in Dunedin with 3 friends last night. It was a Sunday. Maybe they had the «B» team working? There were 5 of us and we ordered 2 orders of Calamari for an appetizer. That was tasty, and I think homemade, at least different than the «restaurant industrial» calamari you get elsewhere. Two of us ordered veal dishes, 2 ordered pasta dishes, and one a seafood pasta combination. The calamari came, was consumed and we waited at least another 20 minutes for the first veal entrée to be served. Then the two pasta dishes came about 5 minutes later, then the pasta and seafood dish about 10 minutes after that. Meanwhile, our server stated my veal dish would be right out. 25 minutes later I’m still waiting. Finally, it appears. I was looking forward to a lemon butter sauce for veal piccata, but what was served was a gooey, cornstarch thickened, lemon and broth and water combination over watery pasta. With only two pieces of veal that wasn’t even remotely browned, it looked gray. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I asked if the manager was there tonight, and was told he was very busy, and couldn’t come talk to me. Well, I’m talking to him or her now… I won’t be back, there are other games in town, Frank’s Pizza and Restaurant!

Our third time here, we got the garlic knots, white pizza with mushrooms and sausage, and a veal Parmesan sandwich. The knots were huge, had a good amount of minced garlic and were served with marinara sauce. The white pizza was good, the crust was crunchy and the cheese was gooey and stretchy. The veal sandwich was less than average, dry and not much flavor.
Service was above average but a little slow. Overall a good meal, we will be back.

Okay so I like the pizza. The servings are huge. The sauce is mild but I like it. The problem I had is when I ordered the stromboli. It comes standard with pepperoni, sausage, peppers and onions. I asked them to substitute sausage for ham. They said sure but that is $ 0.75 more. What? Why do I pay more for the same amount of toppings? Really? That instantly put a bad taste in my mouth. As others have said, that’s just poor customer service. I was disappointed.

Serious pizza competition with Mario’s in the Clearwater Mall on Gulf to Bay. They’re mozz cheese is the real deal, you know it’s fresh. Good coupons on their website. Pizza doesn’t flop over when you pick if up. Nothing fancy inside the restaurant but it is clean. Good to know I don’t have to drive out to gulf to bay anymore for great NY style pizza. **Update** Have ordered twice since last post (yes we eat a lot of pizza), the quality since our first encounter with Frank’s has deteriorated. I can’t speak for the sandwiches but the pizza has been lacking. I don’t know if the pizza chefs have changed or if it’s just been a fluke. Will order again a month from now. Maybe just working out the kinks of a new location or new chef? *fingers crossed*

I had a stromboli hankering and found this new place within minutes of the house.
The décor and inside isn’t very fancy but functional. I like the bar for waiting while my order was prepared. I was even offered a complimentary beer while I waited!
The pizzas leaving the restaurant looked huge. They have two sizes — 16″ and 18″ for cheaper than those chain restaurants. And they offer free delivery within 6 miles.
The stromboli was good, though the dough was a bit chewy by the time I got it home. Probably because of some of my ingredients (tomatoes) soaking in. Flavor was good though. Sauce had a mild flavor.
All in all I’d definitely give this place another go, if just to try the pizzas they were turning out.

Frank’s Pizza & Restaurant is sort of hidden off Keene Rd. on Virginia St., in Dunedin. We are always looking for some good Italian food. I was happy to see that they have a lot of booths to choose from and that’s a good thing. The big picture windows give the whole place a nice uplifting feel.
We were there for pizza and pizza we got. They have an extensive menu of all sorts of Italian dishes, though. We ordered the Frank’s Combo Pizza which has pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, sliced meatballs, onions and freshly sauteed mushrooms. We ordered the largest size, not knowing if there would be enough goodies on the pizza and OMG, it was loaded with toppings (see pics). The crust was tasty, thin and crispy and it held up nicely with the weight of all of the toppings. It did not sag when the slices were raised to mouth. The cheese and sauce had a wonderful flavor, too.
The whole atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The owners inquired about how we enjoyed our food. We were pleasantly surprised as to how delicious their pizza was and what a great experience we had.
