This place is not real Mexican food or tex mex either ! I taken my employees here for lunch, and my company card was hacked quickly as I was leaving this restaurant. The staff here is rude and does not talk to you only to get your order. They are quick to place the bill on your table but, not so quickly to give you any refills on your drink. I WILL not go back to this place !
So if you like your card to be hacked and bad food, then this place is for you …

EXCELLENT Fajitas!
Whoa! The seasoning is authentic and the meat is of very high quality! The refried beans are homemade and authentic as well. I literally could not stop eating them. The manager luckily had a wheel barrow so I could be wheeled out I ate so much!

Let me start by saying we love the food here! Chips are good and the food is fast and delicious. Why two stars? After our last visit there, both my wife and I threw up for three hours straight. My wife tried to convince me that we just had the stomach flu because she loves the food so much, but I’m almost certain it was the food. This was our favorite place, but we likely won’t be back.

We Unilocal’d for Mexican and found this place. Not bad, not amazing either… just okay. I would go back if I was in the area, but wouldn’t go out of my way.
Some perks… the service was great. Everyone was very friendly. Food came VERY quickly! We came during a weeknight. There were 2 servers, 2 cooks, and a host. They all managed the store with prompt service and it was quite crowded! So, kudos to them!

Best Enchiladas and Raspberry Tea in town. Stumbled upon this place a few years ago because I was hungry and didn’t want to endure a 45 minute wait at Red Lobster. Been a frequenter every since. Don’t stay in church too late on Sundays because they close early.

Hard to see from the road but the food was great. We stopped in today to get a to go order and the service was fast and friendly. The queso, enchiladas, flautas, and chicken mole were all excellent. We will be back.

Thank you to all the previous reviewers! I just had a very delightful lunch at Sabor La Mexicana located behind Red Lobster and Olive Garden on Cockrell Hill. Mr. Husband and I decided on Mexican food for lunch, as we are mildly addicted to the food and it’s culture. We could not decide where to go, and had a hankering for something different. So I jumped on my trusty Unilocal app and scrolled until a restaurant showed up that we haven’t eaten at before. SABOR A LA MEXICANA! What can I say, besides olé!

Staff was very friendly. Food was just ok. The chips were ok the salsa bland & watery. The nachos were a bit better. Plenty of cheese & good guacamole. Kinda surprised that the chips weren’t better since it’s part of a tortilla factory. The AC was busted when i went so it was kinda hot. Good prices mediocre food great staff.

This restaurant is part of a tortilla factory. The chips and tortillas are totally fresh.
I have to say this is one of the cleanest restaurants I’ve ever visited. It’s super organized too. Very large space and can accommodate extra large parties.
As soon as you sit they serve you chips and salsa. I ordered a pineapple drink which is refreshing. I also ordered some shredded chicken tacos. They are a bit on the greasy side. My kid ordered chicken quesadilla’s which she won’t say she likes or not. She’s a teenager so who can really tell. I think she liked them because she cleaned her plate.
Service is prompt. The food is better than most mexican restaurants in the area. I’m from the Valley area and found that this place is pretty good. I think it’s overpriced but I’ll continue to pay since it’s better than other places.

This is an excellent Mexican restaurant. The establishment is very spacious and open. It’s usually pretty crowded during lunch, but you don’t feel like you’re bumping elbows with the table next to you either! The chips here are pretty good, salsa can be watery, but the big chunks of onion and cilantro make up for it! That’s always a plus in a good salsa! The ground beef nachos are my favorite. They are huge nachos stuffed with beef, beans, cheese, guac, sour cream, and jalapeños! When i say stuffed I mean like filled with tons of goodness to have to use your fork to keep it from falling to you plate while trying to eat (this is a good thing!) for being a tortilla factory I’m not a huge fan of the tortillas, they seem to thick and flavorless. The small bowl of tortilla soup is HUGE and looks soooo good. It’s very brothy with huge chunks of veggies and avocados. I haven’t had it, but looks amazing and I definitely want to try it!

This place is HORRIBLE! The service was SUPER slow! There were 5 tables worth of patrons including ours and it took 15 minutes for them to take our drink order. Then the food was NOT Authentic Mexican to top it off. Last but not least the lousy waitress took it upon herself to GIVE herself an 18% Gratuity pre tax and in small print next to it, it read Large Party when and where are 4 people considered a LARGE PARTY!!! Wth well when I questioned her about it she said Today EVERYONE is charging 18% Gratuity!!!
I will tell you what AVOID this place it’s over all BAD! NEVER AGAIN

I took my husband here for his birthday because we wanted to try a new Mexican restaurant. the place is huge on the outside but the restaurant is actually very small I guess the rest of it is the tortilla factory. it’s funny that they make tortilla chips here but the chips that we were served were not very tasty but it was clean and the kitchen is open. we ordered the fajitas for two which included steak chicken and sausage. the chicken and the steak was very tender and well seasoned except for the few pieces that got a little bit too charred but overall we would definitely go back again.

Outside its a big converted grocery store. Inside, small Mexican restaurant. Nothing fancy, a bit loud.
Food reminds me of El Fenix. Close your eyes and you would not know the difference in the crispy taco or sour Crème enchiladas. Similarity stops there– chips are fresh, crispy, but the thick kind you need with a guacamole salad. I’m not hot on the salsa– watery– not much in there to scoop up.
Service is spotty. I wrote this waiting for my check! Watched them skip an elderly couple in the queue twice.
Prices are a bit high IMO– for this location. My lunch was $ 9.00 for 2 enchilada a taco rice and beans.

Absolutely delicious, fresh, classic mexican food!
This place is great for classic mexican food. Nothing crazy or fancy, just honest and fresh. Its a part of a tortilla factory, so the chips and the tortillas are super fresh.
I got carne asada tacos and they were amazing. The meat was well marinated and perfectly cooked. The beans were delicious.
The staff was very kind and sweet. Our food came quickly, which was handy because it prevented me from eating pounds of the amazing chips and salsa waiting for the food.
Definitely coming back!

My wife was in the area a few months ago and ate here. She sent me pictures and kept on telling me that the good was excellent. Is jealous but I knew eventually, I would have my turn. Today was the day. The menu blew me away! I ordered the fish tacos and the steak fajita burrito. Words can’t describe how great the food was. Great job and I’ll definitely be back.

One word sums up Sabor for me: Delicious!
On my most recent visit to Sabor, I ordered what I pretty much order at all Tex-​Mex restaurants: Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas, and Sabor serves up some of the best around. Their version is bulging with fresh shredded chicken and topped with a tangy, cheesy sauce that’s well worth the calorie splurge.
Service is always the way I like it at this family owned spot: friendly and fast. Entrees are out in less than 10 minutes.
In addition to all of the yummy food served here, the restaurant is actually attached to a tortilla/​tortilla chip factory so of course the chips are fresh and plentiful. (Note: most of the building is the factory but trust me, there’s an actual restaurant in there)
This place is the real deal folks! If you’re in the Duncanville area, skip the fast food joints and chains and eat here. You’re definitely in for a treat!
