Happy Eatery

We’re new to the area and have been trying to find a decent place for Chinese food. After waiting an hour for delivery, I was starving. The food arrived and was ok– until I found a bug in it, about 3 bites in. They refunded, came back to pick up the food (and the bug) to show their manager, and gave us a receipt for the refund. I appreciate the effort, but we won’t be going back and I definitely won’t be recommending this restaurant to anyone.

I normally go for the chicken wings and mumbo sauce. They also have great steak and cheese egg rolls !

How do I say this. This is the first time I’ve ever ordered Chinese food, and had to dump the entire thing. Fried rice was inedibly horrible…

Quick, tasty and friendly Chinese carry out. If you ask for delivery, it is efficient as well.

This place use to be GREAT! Now… it’s basically run by Dan Snyder. She find and thriving business and said «You know what — I’ll buy this business and take everything that is great about it and change it!» Well mission accomplished, you changed it alright. Now it’s garbage. Just sell the business or ask for the old recipe book.

This place has become my #1 spot for Chinese in the area. I’ve ordered twice and the food was amazing both times. I recently ordered before our big snow storm hit on Friday and they delivered promptly and before it started to come down hard. Delivery guy and person taking the orders on the phone are really nice also.
Now on to the food. Combo fried rice is a must have here, it’s perfect. The Tsos is excellent, shrimp or beef and broccoli are good, and they even have dinner combos. I was surprised to see they even have subs on the menu. I haven’t tried but plan to next order. Definitely reccomend!

I think it’s okay. I’m not overly impressed with the quality or taste. We’ve been coming here a very long time and I feel like their food used to be much better. The steak egg and cheese is okay. The meat lately is more fatty than I care for. We don’t usually get Chinese from here but we did order sweet and sour chicken and the kids did like it. New owners. Food is bland. Not what it used to be. I wouldn’t come here again

Best Chinese delivery I’ve had in Va! The fried rice is really good it’s not dry or old tasting they put bean sprouts and eggs in it which most places don’t so that’s a plus, they don’t skimp on the combo. The General tso is good not soggy like most places, good sauce, and good meat– some places give u old meat, u can tell bc it’s all brown and smells funny. Mongolian beef is really good the meat isn’t chewy it’s soft and had good flavor; only complaint too much onions (I love green onions but man there was a lot and even more white onions!) the Hawaiian beef on a stick is good sweet and flavorful. The egg foo young chicken was good and greasy the gravy tastes better than other places as well. Fried chicken wings are HUGE and good. The pork wontons was also very good. Overall great delivery food, our 2^nd time ordering this time and we are not disappointed! This place is a little more pricey in comparison to other Chinese delivery but it’s worth it. We shall continue to order from this place!

The first time I ordered from here I was happy with the food (though the curry sauce was spilled throughout the bag). Last night I ordered again and requested fried rice instead of white rice with both my order of beef curry and chicken curry. I also paid $ 3.00 more for extra chicken. I was very disappointed that the beef curry contained very little meat and was basically just peppers, onions and other vegetables. The chicken had a decent amount of chicken but I did pay the extra for it. Also, today I received a notice that I was charged $ 2.00 extra for two sides of fried rice, however there was only one side of fried rice that was brought with the order (also there was no extra charge the first time to substitute fried for white rice). Given the lack of meat in the dish for the price I will likely find a new place to order from in the future.

Best Chinese food in the Quantico area. If your looking for good Chinese this is the place! They deliver to Quantico ++++

This place use to be amazing; I’ve been eating here for over 20 years while the place was owned by Mr. & Mrs. Lo. I recently ordered food for delivery & it looked & tasted very different than it normally does. I instantly knew something was off. I looked at my receipt & it said «Lucky China», not Happy Eatery. I called & asked if the place that delivered my food was Happy Eatery, when the woman on the other line said yes I asked her why my receipt said Lucky China. She said that was her company name & she was the new owner. She kept asking me if I liked the food; I didn’t want to be rude so I told her it was «different», which really meant awful. She then went on to tell me that the old owners had Spanish cooks (Her words) & that she got rid of them all & hired Chinese cooks, that’s why the food tasted different. If you liked the old Happy Eatery this place is certainly not it. The food is not comparable to what it was under the old owners.

Love love this place!!! Great food and Wonderful owners!!! I have been going to this place for 20 years now and have never once had a problem… Would not think of going anywhere else. Also they have some good lunch specials!!!

Inly place in dumfries triangle area that has delicious chinese food and they have great steak and cheese as well prices are reasonable to.

I have tried a few Chinese restaurants in the area and this spot is the best by far! Great subs, great fried shrimp, and tasty Chinese dishes. The food is always hot, delivery fast, and they always get the order right. Very nice people too I love this place!

Mediocre at best. I got the general tso’s chicken dinner combination plate and an order of crab rangoons. The chicken was overdone and covered in thick sauce. The egg roll was bland. I will not be going here again.

I’m not sure how this place got 5stars.
I order pork chop because it was recommend from the review and it turn out to be awful. Pork chop is so bland have no test or seasoning. The price from the website are different than the price that they charge us.

You don’t need to pay too much for food, this food is excellent, My wife hates went I lick my fingers, but I jus can’t help it, don’t need to go to China town Happy Eatery at Dumfries is simple the best. My wife, kids and my self agree on 5 Stars to this place!!!

Love this place my favorite to order from. Everything has excellent flavor. Their crab rangoons are the best!

I totally love there chicken wings and pork chops. I go here when I’m to lazy to cook.
