I came here with my cousins for lunch. We ordered the edamame, 2 shoyu ramen’s & the beef rice bowl. The service was good & the food was decent. The beef rice bowl didn’t come with any additional veggies, just beef & it was a bit dry. While good, the ramen didn’t stand out in any way. What really turned me off was that the menu online is different from the restaurant. Online menu shows various ramen options with different toppings. Restaurant menu gives 3 options for the soup & spinach; ALL the toppings are extra add ons priced at $ 1-$ 4. My meal should have been about $ 15 but ended up being +$ 20(edamame & ramen with 3 toppings, shrimp tempura, egg & kimchi). There’s several other ramen places that have different ramen bases with various toppings that are much BETTER so I don’t see any reason to go back. I felt a bit ripped off considering I expected one thing from the online menu & got something else at the restaurant.

I had plans to eat at Umaido with my friends but unfortunately they were jam packed. We searched for a nearby ramen store in hopes of finding something with quality that could rival that of Umaido. We were extremely disappointed. If you had to compare it, it’d be like the one dollar steak at the dollar tree compared to the Sundial’s filet mignon. I had the spicy miso ramen and it literally tasted like unsalted spicy water. Completely bland and the noodles were the instant kind. I also ordered the«Curry Rice» in hopes of something that could redeem this terrible ramen but I was given the instant curry that you buy at the local asian marts. I’ve never been so disappointed at a restaurant’s quality of food in my life. Do not recommend.

This place was very mediocre. The fried foods we got all had a very fishy taste. The beef rice was good though. I’m just not a fan of places that serve fishy things that shouldn’t be fishy.

My friends and I came here after a morning of hiking, and since the reviews seemed good, we decided to check it out. The shop wasn’t very big, but you could tell it seemed family-owned. Special shout out to the chefs after our experience here! So it started out pretty busy. It was lunch time, so it was understandable. There only seemed to be one waiter but it didn’t take much longer afterwards to get seated. We ordered our drinks, two cups of water, two cans of oolong tea, but then one of our friends asked for a water on the side. The extra water never came until we reminded the waiter, but he was busy so we understand. Being the only waiter is hard, especially when there was a lady there that just stood at the register most of the time and cleaned the tables here and there. He then took our order: tonkotsu ramen, miso ramen, shoyu ramen, chicken soup ramen, and geso karaage. We were waiting for a while, and the food never came as we noticed the tables that were seated after us receiving their meals… I looked over to the chef. He seemed to notice that our table didn’t have food either, and then called the waiter over to talk with him. Realizing their mistake, the waiter came back over to our table after an hour long wait to apologize and that our meal was going to be free… FREE?! I understand a discount, but free?! After that experience, I realized how much the chef valued our experience as customers and that they normally are timely with their meals. We received our ramen and karaage, but we also received a complimentary appetizer of takoyaki because the chef felt so sorry. I never thought we would be treated so nicely especially as nonlocals from Florida(they didn’t know that though). The appetizers were very good, not overcooked and the right amount of crisp! I can only speak for the shoyu ramen, but it looked exactly like it would be cooked on the demonstration on the tv. The soup was light, not too heavy, but a good balance. The noodles had a good bounce to it when biting into it, and the roasted pork was definitely different. It had a bit of a crisp and smoke to it that was not like what I normally have at other ramen places. It was delicious though! A good hearty meal after a long, cold hike in the mountains made this place worthwhile, even with the initial impression. Overall, I would try this place out again and I am truly appreciative for the chef’s generosity!

Let me start out with: I love ramen. I love how the broth is hardy without being thick and creamy. How the noodles — when done right — are handmade and sturdy enough to pick up without falling to bits, yet slightly chewy when you bite them. The chasu though… oh that’s gotta be my favorite part of ramen. The sweet, fatty circles of pork. Mizumi Ramen has it all. Mizumi Ramen is located in a small shopping center off of Satellite and Old Peachtree behind a Starbucks. There is plenty of parking, but you might miss the shopping center if you’re not looking carefully. The inside can seat about 30 people, so it’s not the largest of places, but typically ramen shops aren’t that big. The menu isn’t very large as well, but it offers exactly what you need: a few appetizers, 6 kinds of ramen, additional ramen toppings, some sides, and udon + a couple rice dishes if you’re into that. They offer Tonkotsu, Shoyu, Miso, Spicy Ramen, Miso Tsuke Men, and Spicy Tsuke Men. I’ve tried both the Tonkotsu and Miso ramens and I loved them both. Their takoyaki is also good. The best part about their ramen though is how they cook the chasu. It’s grilled slightly before they bring it out, so not only is it fatty and sweet but it also has that grilled/slightly charred(in a good way) taste. Amazing. My only complaint is that they’re a little bit slow. They cook everything to order which is always great, but if you’re in a bit of a hurry you might want to either slow it down or go somewhere else. If you want some good ramen at an affordable price, give Mizumi Ramen a try and take your time.

We tried this place for the first time recently. Two in our party had ramen bowls; I had gyoza. The gyoza were good; not quite up to home-made standards, but better than most Asian restaurant dumplings. I’d order them again. One order is more of an appetizer than an entrée, though. The ramen was rated as good; the spice-level in the one listed as ‘spicy’ was actually impressive. Overall, this place is definitely worth a try.

Spicy ramen broth had no flavor. Tasted like water with chili oil. Had to add soy sauce just to make it edible. Like other reviewers mentioned, no corn or egg.

All I have to say is ‘what happened!?’ I ordered the tonkatsu ramen this time and I got a bowl of noodles with a few greens and 4 slices of pork. Don’t get me wrong; the noodles and pork was tasty, but where was everything else. No corn, seaweed, or egg. I thought all ramen bowls come with egg and it used to at Mizumi too. At least it did a month ago. Strange… I just feel like it isn’t worth the price if you are only going to get 2⁄3 of what you used to get. The broth was tasty. However it was way more greasy than I prefer. The spicy fries was not spicy. Just normal fries with some ketchup. Totally confused as to why they are called spicy fries.

we decided to get ramen and always wondered how mizumi would be. We arrived around 9pm on a Saturday night. Might I say, it was completely dead inside for a ramen place during the weekend. Friendly waitress and chef would talk to us while cooking which was pleasant. It was very intimate. Unfortunately they ran out of the green tea cheesecake that night and some other items. So we ended up getting tonkatsu ramen and chicken kare kare. Food tasted great. The chicken was nice and juicy and the sauces complimented it very well. Price is pretty affordable compared to other ramen places.

I love ramen and there’s not a lot of good Asian places back home in Orlando. After reading a couple reviews on Unilocal and hearing about this place from a friend, I couldn’t wait to try the ramen. The place is quaint, which I love. We went for dinner on a Saturday night and it wasn’t very busy. Menu selection was pretty basic, but that’s not a bad thing. While waiting, you can smell the food wafting from the bar area. I decided on the Spicy Ramen. The noodles could have been better, but the broth was excellent. The flavor was not too overpowering. The pork chasu was buttery and melted in your mouth. The egg was delicious, my only comlaint was that I only had half an egg and not the entire thing. I would definitely recommend this too anyone who loves a good bowl of ramen!

Came here for a weekday lunch. Got their Tonkotsu ramen with extra pork and ramen. The presentation of the ramen was perfect and the aroma the chasu pork gave off was heavenly. The extra pork and noodles are served on the side. The broth had a very nice flavor which was enhanced by the pork flavor. I just had the Tonkotsu at Umaido the weekend before, and I would say the broths are about even; at both places I didn’t leave any broth in the bowl. The pork at Mizumi is probably the best I’ve had at a ramen spot in Atlanta. I do think i prefer the noodles at Umaido a little more, but Mizumi was pretty good too. As you can see in the pic, they only give you half an egg as opposed to Umaido’s whole egg. I tried my girlfriend’s Spicy ramen, and I wasn’t a fan. The spice definitely hits hard and I have a fairly decent threshold for spicy food. But she enjoys it. This place is also closer to Atlanta and cheaper than Umaido. Can’t imagine going to Umaido anytime soon again.

Nothing like a hot bowl of ramen after a late autumn hike, so after leaving the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, I headed over to Mizumi. As with the nearby Umaido, getting a weekday lunch table at Mizumi is virtually assured. Very few customers that I’ve seen. Space is a little stark, maybe because there was only me for a while before one other solo diner came in. I always find it weird as the lone patron. Soft background music. The food: Spicy tonkotsu ramen with thin noodles(first time I’ve noticed any place offer a choice). Decently spicy with a rich broth and very nice pork slices. I like this broth. The noodles might be a bit behind Umaido’s in taste, but the texture is right and the broth wins them over. Efficient, friendly service. Ramen came out quickly. Reasonable prices but there was no Unilocal check in freebie. I rarely use those anyway. Recommended.

Flavor this good shouldn’t be hidden, but Mizumi Ramen kinda is, tucked away behind a Starbucks and Five guys strip. I kinda thought that I dressed up my cups of ramen from the grocery store when I add broccoli to it, but this Japanese noodle sho crew puts a little more love into their dishes than me! It’s a smaller shop with a few tables, but customer service is friendly and food comes out quickly. I ordered their spicy ramen, which comes with Cha-Shu roasted pork, bean sprouts, sweet corn, sea sedge, Agaric and their house spicy sauce/broth, that wasn’t really all that spicy to me, but tell me what you think. The cost for lunch was about $ 10 Flavors were fairly rich, and had nice thick noodles. The serving sizes are pretty sizable. Nothing ridiculous like a large order of Phở, but you walk away happy. The roasted pork is just a slice, nothing too big, but it adds to the variety and flavor. I didn’t eat the boiled egg, but it doesn’t detract from the flavor either. I really like this place and if you want a smaller, less busy but just as flavorful alternative to Umaido, stop in if you’re in the area

I really wanted to like this place. It’s very close to my office location, so I imagined myself being a regular here. Texture of noodles was average. The broth lacked flavor but was extremely salty. I have tried their regular Tonkatsu ramen as well as their Spicy Tonkatsu ramen. The spicy ramen did have more flavor, so that would be my recommendation. NOTE: My co-worker’s went to eat here last week and had a horrible experience. They had a party of 8 and it took over 1 hour for everyone to get their food. The noodles came out in waves and some orders were missed and it took even longer to arrive at the table. According to the waitress, the main chef was deported that same day. Don’t know if it’s true, but if it is, this will probably impact their business dramatically.

I think Mizumi’s been open for about a year now? My 1st visit when they just opened left me unimpressed with their ramen because the broth was pretty bland. The chasu/pork slices that come with the ramen are the best I’ve ever had though. I tried the regular tonkatsu & spicy tonkatsu again recently and they’re still quite bland. Mizumi is close to my office so I still stop by whenever I crave ramen. On one visit, I decided to try out Spicy Tsuke Men(noodle & broth are separate; this broth is more rich & concentrated than other ramen broth), which turns out to be amazing. This is the only thing I order from Mizumi now. For appetizer, I recommend the takoyaki(fried octopus balls). Mizumi is kind of hidden behind Starbucks & Five Guys building. Very small & simple restaurant with maybe 6 small tables & the bar with maybe 6 seats, where you can watch the chef cook.

Honestly, this place had pretty decent ramen for Georgia’s standards. The main reason I am giving it just three stars is service. Service is key, y’all. It can make or break your business. Ambiance: Small and very minimally decorated. There is a ramen bar and a few tables. I didn’t notice anything in particular catch my eye, but nothing to detract from the experience either. Food: Takoyaki: Battered and fried octopus balls drizzled with sauce(similar to a mayo and a sweet tangy sauce) and topped with bonito flakes. This was delicious. Temperature-wise, it does come out tongue scorching hot. Be forewarned. I scarfed them down anyways and suffered the consequences. Ramen: I had the Tonkotsu with chashu. The broth was creamy, not too salty, and accompanied by corn and various veggies. The noodles were thick and cooked to the perfect consistency – not too soft, and not rubbery either. My friend had the Spicy ramen. It looked super spicy, but it was surprisingly just a tad bit so. She enjoyed it as well, and my little sample of her broth was pleasing. Her noodles were a bit thinner than mine. We both slurped our bowls down fairly quickly. Service: Horrible. There was one server and she did not know how to prioritize her tasks. I wish there were something that could be said to her merit, but it really ruined the otherwise perfectly good meal there. Our waters took forever to come out, although she had given me my soda right away. The chef rang the bell three times for her to come pick up our food from the service station, while she was preoccupied trying to give a table their check. Food gets cold; checks do not. After we were done eating, we waited for some time for our check. Eventually, we got annoyed waiting and got up to pay. The chef handled our transaction and apologized for our wait. In a nutshell, it’s worth it to visit Mizumi if you have all the time in the world and are really craving ramen.

I really really am a fan of this Japanese ramen place! It beats Umaido all the way! Anyways, I noticed that there aren’t many tables and the place is pretty small. I wonder how it gets when they’re super busy? There were only two employees at the time I came here with my siblings. Always wanted to try this place out from before and now here I am. hehehe! Our server was friendly and attentive! Spicy Fries($ 1.95) — they seasoned this very well and it didn’t need any ketchup. Though, it came with ketchup. but really didn’t need it! I’d get this, again on my next visit! It was deeeelicious!!! Yep! That’s how much I enjoyed it! My siblings enjoyed the fries as well. Tori Karake($ 4.95) — somewhat disappointing because of how small the portion size was. Also, there wasn’t much chicken, only batter. I was expecting the tori karake to be a nice big juicy size chicken. but alas, it wasn’t. The taste was ok. The sauce that comes with it was ok, too. I wouldn’t get this next time, though. Takoyaki 10 pieces($ 10.00) — so basically they were a dollar each takoyaki ball. It was tasty. but wish it wasn’t so pricey! Also, wish there were more octopus pieces like the ones I had in Tokyo, Japan years ago. Shio Ramen($ 7.95) — It was ok. It only came with half slice of boiled egg not what I was expecting. Wish it was one whole boiled egg. Mizumi Spicy Ramen($ 9.49) — I would probably get it again if the price wasn’t so high. It’s spicy and good, but not a WOW factor. I do admit. the ramen noodles are really good. In fact, as I mentioned earlier. better than Umaido’s ramen. Yes. I would definitely come back for some more! The Spicy Fries were my favorite out of everything here. still. gotta try out the other flavored ramen here.

Had a craving for ramen… and wanted to try somewhere new. Parking is pretty good here. Same lot as Capriotti’s. Won’t have to search long for a spot. Space and Service — They do have several tables. I don’t think there’d be a wait. When I came in, it was a Saturday around 1PM. Only 2 other parties were there. Service — Not too bad. Ramen came out within 5 mins… but the Gyoza took 30+ mins… When we were finished with our meal. By that time, there was no point in eating them. However, it’d have been nice to get comped the gyoza rather than throw it away. We’d have taken it to-go. But I digress, they only had 1 girl getting orders, bringing the food, and etc. In the back — I only saw 1 person doing the cooking. But I did see some other young cooks come out occasionally with other food items. Food — I had the Miso Ramen with no Egg. The noodles were really good themselves, but they did not absorb ANY taste. Since broth was ok & not really enriching, the noodles lacked the flair. Only redeeming item: the meat. It was cooked well. Was a great addition. The portion was nice too! Maybe I came on an off day. I was hoping for more :( I should also note: my bf had the spicy ramen — I had a taste of his broth — it was definitely spicy. I have low tolerance for any spicy meals, so… Wish we could have tried the gyoza!

I forgot how I discovered this ramen shop on Unilocal, but I did and I have been itching to try it out for months. I finally had the opportunity when I was in the area, which is a rare day indeed for me to be so far OTP. The restaurant wasn’t exactly the easiest to find via Google Maps. We’d parked at the Starbucks/Five Guys plaza, then walked all the way over(all of 0.1 miles) to the restaurant. On the way, we noticed a small sign advertising the 20% off deal at Mizumi. Once we walked inside, there were maybe two other tables quietly eating. It was sad to see a restaurant that was so hyped up for me nearly empty on a Saturday night. We ordered ramen: shoyu and tonkotsu ramen. There is the option of ordering thick or thin noodles, which I had never experienced. We both chose thin noodles, which turned out to be the traditional ramen noodles we expected. My shoyu ramen was delicious. I was starving after running around all day on little to no food in my belly. The broth was flavorful without having to add any toppings or chili powder. The meat was cooked to tender perfection. For some reason, the ramen didn’t seem to be as good overall as Umaido, but it is a strong contender for 2nd. We were not surprised to find 20% off our ramen orders. But wow, that total cost was surprising for the quality of ramen we were served! Definitely a great ramen shop alternative to the hyped up Umaido.

Probably best ramen in town(yes, Umaido, I’m looking at you). I was recommended by one of my colleagues. He said they only make noodles, nothing else, which makes me curious. I went there before the snow day to comfort myself. It is a small clean restaurant. Not so many people there since it’s a workday night. I ordered tonkatsu ramen, as it’s their specialty. The broth is so thick and tasty that you can almost taste collagen. The egg comes with it is soft boiled, yet with some sort of juice inside. And of course, the ramen is worth every bite. After this ramen, I realized why ramen is such a hype for some of my friends. Definitely will come back: D
