I’ve come to this place over the course of 6 months and watched it progressively go downhill. Summertime? Bugs flying near the lamps. The food quality? Poor. Selling expired chips to customers, cheap. A certain condescending female employee I overheard talking negatively about a male customer. My food was poor, dried out, didn’t taste quite right… tasted. OLD. The owner of this place has got to be kidding us. It needs changes big time. This place is a joke and it’s a wonder it’s behind so many successful franchises, hidden, because it does not deserve any glory it may receive. I wouldn’t trust anyone to make MY food here.

I recently relocated back to Duluth from Wilmington DE. The Capriottis out near my home was always fabulous with the best sandwiches. Fresh, meaty, juicy, and cheesy. When I stumbled on this location I thought I hit the jackpot! I was sorely mistaken. The sandwich was dry, the meat was overcooked and the bread didn’t even taste the same. I called them back after I ate half of my sandwich and they said they appreciated the feedback. I think they need to call one of the other locations to get help on how to prepare a real cheesesteak. I’m going to mess with them one more time because I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. If they come correct and make their cheesesteak the eighth way, then I’m willing to change this rating. No one likes being disappointed when they have grown accustomed to their food tasting a certain way…

The bf and his friends discovered this place when they were in Las Vegas. Georgia just happens to have a location here. The sandwiches were hot and juicy. Sometimes sandwiches can be dry and tasteless. The capastrami(?) I had was flavorful and delish. At first I thought the coleslaw in the sandwich was a tad strange, but it added a unique texture and sweet flavor to the sandwich. The bf’s cheese steak was pretty tasty as well. If you’re on a diet, I don’t rec this place. lol. Oh. The bf said the Bobbie(the special of specials) was good. I’m not a turkey fan so I took his word on it. You have the option of choosing small or large. Both our sandwiches were small, but it was surely filling. Parking was pretty plentiful since this area wasn’t too popular. You can use Starbucks as a reference point since this area was somewhat tucked away.

Food $ 9 Philly Cheesestake. I had the Bobbie in Las Vegas and the Philly here. The Bobbie was memorable for me because it tasted like Thanksgiving in July. The Philly tastes like any other cheese steak but it was still pretty good. I would definitely recommend the Bobbie first. You don’t see turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce sandwich at most shops. Décor It looks like any chain sandwich shop except that it was pretty clean. Service The lady was eager to explain the sandwiches and offer recommendations. That’s nice. Would I come here again? Probably. It’ll bring me back memories of Las Vegas. Starbucks and Five Guys are in the same shopping center also.

I’m a grad student, so I eat a lot of sandwiches. This is definitely one of the better sandwich shops around. I’m a fan of hot sandwiches, and its hard to find a good one that’s not a cheesesteak. Don’t get me wrong, cheesesteaks are good, but I like having toppings in the sandwich, which does not go well with a cheesesteak. The shops with good hot sandwiches tend to be higher end and more expensive(more than $ 10) or like kinda crappy like Subway($ 6 – 7 for a chicken teriyaki). Capriotti’s is in the right niche where you a high quality hot sub for $ 7 – 8 for a 9″, which is more than enough to fill you up. Great for lunch, or even dinner(if they were open) cause their Bobby is basically Thanksgiving in a sandwich. Its a better Thanksgiving sandwich than many seasonal ones at places like Wawa or Au Bön Pain.

Found this place by chance sitting in Starbuck’s drive thru. Decided to try for lunch. I got the hot nine inch(small) Italian sub. I They had two other sizes with the largest 20″. I got the sub fully loaded with tomato, lettuce, hot and sweet peppers, and cheese. The sandwich was very good and will be a repeat visit. They are only open to 3:00 so a good choice if you work around Gwinnett arena for lunch. Nice change from my every couple week Firehouse Subs.

They seem to get rave reviews and national recognition… but I don’t see why. It is very average to me. I often wonder why they picked this location as their first in Georgia. It’s so far from the city and kind of remote how it’s tucked in the corner of a strip. Starbucks is close enough to help them out with traffic along with Five Guys. However the location just seems, odd(weird look on face). I do remember good customer service here. Girl at register was slightly flirty, just slightly. Perfect. :) I have been 2 – 3 times. Neither time was extremely memorable. Just another sandwich. The last time I had the Philly Cheesesteak. It was good but just good. I guess, maybe I am numb. If its not above and beyond, its average. Right? If it’s terrible(service or quality) you never go back. If its amazing(service/quality/cleanliness/theyrememberyournameororder) you always go back and it becomes 1 of your favorites. It becomes the place you take your friends, dates, side pieces, etc. If it’s average… nuff said. Luckily, I am a Unilocaler and I write reviews, even about average places. Here you go.

Nice décor. Three 3.5 rating is accurate maybe a little higher. I noticed mostly guys in the place and that’s probably because they make a manly sandwich which is full of stuff. I had the Philly which finally was stuffed appropriately and did not make me thinking it was a wish sandwich(wish I had more meat) like you get in most all places. 10 bucks for that 12 inch sub was worth it. Whoever wrote the review complaining the sub had too much in it is probably not a sandwich person nor Italian. I would return for the capastrami. It looked great.

I must admit i’d never even heard of Capriotti’s. I was looking for lunch with an hour break and noticed they had a 10% off check in at the time, so I said why not? Capriotti’s is part of the«hidden» strip of restaurants behind the starbucks and five guys, although capriotti’s is right off of satellite blvd for reference. I was told by staff that the most popular sandwich was the Bobbie, which is thanksgiving on a sandwich(turkey slow roasted the night before, topped with cranberries, stuffing and a few other things). What I settled on was the small philly steak and cheese. Don’t get the terminology confused though, because their«small» is a 9 inch sammy(and their large is 20 inches!). The sandwich comes topped with hot or sweet peppers(or both), mushrooms mayo, provolone cheese and steak(although there’s a veggie and chicken version as well). The small clocked in at $ 7.99 before taxes. The positives about the philly is it had a decent amount of meat and cheese, it was freshly made to order, piping hot, and it definitely filled me up. The flavors weren’t bad, but not something that would make me make a special trip back for it. Customer service is great, friendly, and are eager to explain their product and correct orders if something needs changing or added on to the order. The restaurant overall, including the restrooms are pretty clean as well. Parking isn’t an issue, as this is in a shared strip, although you may have to walk a bit around noon. There is immediate and pretty easy exit onto satellite blvd(going towards sugarloaf parkway), but to get to old peachtree, you’ll have to head towards the starbucks exit. Ultimately, I think Capriotti’s is a respectable sandwich shop that cares about their product and it shows, so if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat with a solid sub, this may be your spot

Absolutely nasty! I can honestly say it was the worst sandwich I’ve ever tasted. Do your self a favor and avoid the«Bobbie». It was cold, and had jelly doughnut filling that was supposed to be cranberry sauce? It should be called the«Nasty». That said the restaurant was clean and the food was delivered fairly quickly.

Some very innovative sandwiches here. Who else in Atlanta serves a vegetarian cheesesteak sub? Nobody. The sub was pretty good. Could’ve used a bit more toppings. Prices are about 2x Subway. Worthy of three stars but nothing more or less.

Thought I’d chime in a review after my 3rd visit to Capriotti’s. There are plenty of sandwich options in the area, so it can be hard to choose. Cap’s is probably my new favorite. Decided to try it first after seeing it behind 5Guys. The place is kinda small, about average for a sandwich shop. The manager(?) took some time to explain to me their menu and process, how they roast their turkey overnight, etc. He showed me the sizes on the wall. The 20″ large looked massive, so I figured the medium, by comparison, would be good. Turned out to still be an enourmous sandwich(and I can eat!). Since then I’ve gotten smalls which is plenty for lunch. The Cole Turkey was my first and it was fantastic. I’ve never really been one to throw slaw on my sandwiches, but I thoroughly enjoy it here. My second visit was the Slaw Be Jo(roast beef) which was still really good, though a little on the drier side. That day, I brought a coworker their Italian and he raved about it. My most recent vist had me try the Capastrami, and I think I’ve now found my favorite. Warm, thinly sliced Pastrami, almost like a cheesesteak, with that slaw… so good. A friend came along and had the cheesesteak and he kept going on about it. They have a Pepsi soda fountain which I’m not a huge fan of, but won’t hold it against them. Your usual selection of chips. They have an app that lets you scan your receipts for points towards future credit on food — we do this with Schlotzky’s on the reg; great idea. Friendly employees. I only hope they can stay in business with their somewhat odd location. They have seemed to be busy enough when I’m in there though.

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop opened its first Georgia franchise location on January 12, 2015 in a shopping center at the corner of Satellite Boulevard and Old Peachtree Road, not far from I-85 exit 109, near Starbucks and Five Guys. The original Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop opened in 1976 in Wilmington, Delaware’s Little Italy neighborhood. Capriotti’s stores now exist in over 15 states. The store is cut in a mold similar to other fast casual sandwich restaurants such as Quiznos, Jimmy John’s, Firehouse Subs, and Which Wich. It follows a formula. Pay upfront and wait for your sandwich(es) to be freshly made. Fountain drinks, tea, and napkins are self-serve. If you didn’t get the feeling from the name, the store has somewhat of an Italian influence. The space is new and nice, composed of brick and wood. The large open kitchen has ovens, a wide flattop grill, and multiple prepping stations. It’s a bit bigger than most typical sandwich shops. Capriotti’s offers about 20 different hot and cold sandwiches plus a handful of veggie subs and salads. The sandwiches come in three sizes: small(9 inches), medium(12 inches), and large(20 inches). Small sandwiches range in price from about $ 7 – 8 each, medium $ 10 – 11 each, and large $ 15 – 16. I think the small sub should suit most people just fine. Order a medium if you’re really hungry or can eat a lot. One of the store’s most popular sandwiches is The Bobbie. It’s made with turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo. It sounds like Thanksgiving dinner in sandwich form. Turkey is behind the original Capriotti’s claim to fame as the founder used to roast whole fresh turkeys overnight for use in her sandwiches at the store the next day. Among the sandwiches I’ve tried, my favorites are the Slaw Be Jo, Italian(cold sub), Cheese Steak, and Grilled Italian. Like The Bobbie, the Slaw Be Jo is a Capriotti’s special. It’s a cold sub consisting of roast beef, provolone cheese, Russian dressing, coleslaw, and mayo. I’m a fan of Reuben sandwiches, also made with beef and Russian dressing, as well as slaw, so it’s no surprise this was the first sandwich I decided to try. I like it. The ingredients, particularly the roast beef and slaw, are fresh. If you like Reuben sandwiches, I recommend the Slaw Be Jo. Freshness is consistent in all of the sandwiches I’ve tried. The sandwiches are made to order. If any meats need to be cooked, they are grilled on the spot. Both the Grilled Italian and the Cheese Steak are delicious. The Grilled Italian, though admittedly greasy, is my favorite of the Capriotti’s sandwiches I’ve tried so far. The meat is Italian sausage, similar to Italian sausage you might find on a pizza. If you like spicy food(which I do), order the Grilled Italian with hot peppers and mushrooms. Mushrooms cost about 50 cents to a dollar extra depending on sandwich size. The peppers are mildly spicy, but add a piquant flavor to the meat. The Cheese Steaks are quite tasty. I suggest ordering them with mushrooms. If you like cheese steaks, they know how to make a good one here. The sandwiches are served hot/warm. They are both filling and comforting. The chicken version is tasty too. In addition to hot peppers and mushrooms, you can also add sweet peppers and/or fried onions to any hot sandwich. The peppers and onions are complimentary. I prefer the hot sandwiches over the cold sandwiches. Cold subs come standard with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and seasonings. I love a good Italian sandwich(e.g. Baldino’s Italian Battalion), but the version I had at Capriotti’s wasn’t very good. The sandwich was packed to the gills with lots of assorted cured meats such as salami, capicola, and prosciuttini. I didn’t have a problem with any of the meats in particular, but the sandwich overall was dense and heavy to a fault. It made the sandwich a chore to eat. The bread also wasn’t as soft nor appetizing as the breads on the aforementioned Slaw Be Jo and hot sandwiches. Customer service is great and the sandwiches are prepared in a timely manner.

Came here to try their vegetarian specialty sandwiches and was really in for a treat. I had the vegetarian cheesesteak and it was meaty, cheeses and delicious. It took a while to get the food but it was worth the wait. The 20″-er was big enough to share!

Everyone was excitedly raving about the addition of Capriotti’s to Atlanta’s sandwich mix. It’s originally from Delaware and now they’re everywhere. One of their sandwiches called«The bobbie» is nationally recognized as one of the best sandwiches in America. I put it to the test and was disappointed. It’s reminisicent of the day after thanksgiving leftovers put into a sandwich. Justin explained how this is apparently an American tradition, but I guess the Indians were left out, because my family and I did not grow up doing this. The sandwich tasted exactly like thanksgiving leftovers to me and that includes being cold, me being too lazy and full from the day before to warm up the sandwich, and it being dry with the cranberry sauce trying to over-compensate the dryness of the sandwich. Justin got the Capastrami which had pastrami and it was warm. I liked this sandwich a lot better, but all in all put together I wouldn’t automatically make one of these franchises one of my favorites. I’ll definitely try it again, but I had an a-ok experience.

I had the pleasure of experiencing Capriotti’s through an early preview of the restaurant. It was good seeing the crew being trained by staff from headquarters. My main reason for visiting Capriotti was to sample the vegetarian options. I ended up ordering the veggie cheesesteak sandwich, which was a soy«chicken» product. I was a bit baffled by the fact that nothing comes on the sandwich except the protein and cheese, the cashier told me that you had to add the vegetables that you wanted. I ended adding peppers on my cheesesteak and got a side of mustard. My sandwich was a bit bare as I didn’t add lettuce or tomatoes… I was still confused on the ordering process, but got the hang of it the second go round. When I got the veggie cheesesteak my jaw dropped open, I was shocked by how much the veggie«chicken» looked like real chicken. Nothing scares a vegetarian more than real meat… But it was definitely a soy product, I even let someone else taste it and they agreed it was not meat. But still definitely shocking upon first sight, but the taste was good and the small size was Very filling. I wouldn’t mind ordering it again! All in all it was a good soft opening, the staff did well and I hope they keep up the good service, but the food was quite yummy and they serve Pepsi… be still my high fructose corn syrup heart… Anyway I wish Capriotti was closer to me in Marietta, but alas I’m not allowed to have yummy food so close to home. Oh well, if I’m ever in Duluth again, I’ll definitely stop by…
