I live three hours from here. I have been here a ton of times and always cant wait till the next time. It is so relaxing you will never want to leave. In the immediate area is some incredible but extremely expensive hotels and a variety of food like no other place. Stay at one of the hotels for the weekend if you can afford it otherwise find someplace cheaper not far away and spend the weekend walking the boardwalk. you will LOVE it.

This is a must if you visit Canal Park. We stayed at the Hampton Inn so it was easy. We just walked to the the light houses and the marine museum. It was cool to be able to stand near the light house and then take pictures of the lift bridge. So, you should definitely check out while in Duluth’s Canal Park.

I read this today and it spot on describes me and I am guess most people who grew up or live in the land of 10 thousand lakes. I’m a lake person. Show me a map and I’ll start start searching for the blue spots. Show me a dock, overlooking an expanse of blue, and — with suit or without — I have to dive in. When I’m at a lake, I’m happy. When I’m not at a lake, I think about being there. I am a water baby through and through. The hardest part about leaving Duluth was leaving the lake. The lake walk as we all lovingly call it was a place I visited at least once a week no matter the weather. You can walk, run, bike, roller blade, sit and take in the view, anything you want. It can be chilly no matter what time of year it is.

Lake Superior and the Boardwalk that goes around Canal Park towards Leif Erickson Park is an amazing walk anytime of the day. I loved going there just before the sun was setting to take a walk while drinking a hot cup of coffee when the nights were chilly. It can make for a romantic date or a great way to exercise. Animals are welcomed and there are plenty around. The view is consistently spectacular. If you are heading to Duluth and love to walk this is the place for you!
