First, I was very disappointed in the somewhat limited vegetarian selection. On the day we went, the Special lunch menu(which you won’t find on their website) had no vegetarian option at all(with changes not allowed). This is extremely rare for any Italian restaurant and a huge disappointment. Luckily, however, the regular lunch menu had two options: Fettuccine Alfredo and Pasta Primavera. The Caprese Salad we chose to start with was outstanding with very good quality Mozzarella. The Fettuccine Alfredo would have been among the best I have had: ingredients were clearly high quality, and the pasta was al dente like it should be and like you rarely get it outside of Italy. There was a big problem, however: they were clearly and honestly too salty. It was borderline, and I was close to speaking to the kitchen. This is the only reason I am refraining from a five-star rating. I would like to commend this restaurant for its authentic cuisine, but the salt issue somewhat ruined it for me, authentic or not. I will visit again for a second chance(since I do believe that the salt issue must have been a glitch), to be sure. I really hope to see one vegetarian option on the Special lunch menu. I would go three times a week if they had.

I was here with my family a few times and really enjoyed it. I usually try to stop here when visiting Duluth. One time I stopped, just my mother and I, and we had a blast sitting out on the patio for a few hours. The wine selection is wonderful and the food is great! I visited another time with my parents and fiancé and had the same experience. I really enjoy it here!

Absolutely awesome food, wine and atmosphere! The presentation and flavor was awesome. All four plates served were top notch! Too bad we were too full for dessert. Would go there again in a heartbeat.

My boyfriend and went for a weekend getaway to Duluth and found Belliso’s here on Unilocal.Let me just say, it was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is really nice. It makes you feel like you’re in Italy. The wine selection is perfect. They offer flights of wines if you want to try more than one. The Pinot Grigio my boyfriend and I had was so smooth. We had Bruschetta for an appetizer and that was delicious. My boyfriend had been to Italy and said it was authentic. He had the shrimp and asparagus risotto which was so creamy and flavorful. I had the chicken Marsala which was amazing as well. It came with Brussels sprouts which I’m usually not a fan off but these were cooked to perfection and I ate every single one. We had the tiramisu for dessert which was so light and perfect after a rich meal. It came with an amaretto cream that was delicious. Not to mention, our waitress was super helpful when we had questions and she was very on top of things. Everything is made to order. If you’re looking for good Italian in Duluth, this is the place!

One of the best lunches that I have had in a long time. The 4 cheese pesto tortilini with spicy Italian sausage, mushrooms, diced tomatoes and delicious creamy pesto sauce was a flavor explosion in every bite. Paired with a Maison Pino Noir it was an amazing lunch. I will certainly return and will not hesitate to recommend this Italian restaurant gem to anyone looking for a well crafted Italian meal experience in Duluth, MN

My wife and I love this place. For years it was our favorite stop.(until I found my wheat allergy). Nevertheless, I can still find good food here. I can’t do the bread and oil that comes up front, but I’m used to that at many good stops. they could have more gluten free pasta options, and I’d do 5 stars EASY. But 4 stars hoping for some growth in that area.

Went here for dinner 8⁄29 and sat on the patio, the noise can be distracting as it is right on Lake Avenue but this is expected. Service was promt, knowledged, and very curtious. Wine selection is really top notch. I had a cocktail, the Italian Mule which was excellent. My pasta dish was excellent and tasted like homemade pasta. My girlfriends pasta dish was lacking of flavor but nontheless she seems to have enjoyed it. Will definetly be going back when I get the opportunity!

We went to Bellisio’s for Sunday brunch over Grandma’s Marathon weekend. We were seated on the patio where we thoroughly enjoyed the discounted mimosas and lovely weather. We both ordered off the brunch menu and were very happy with the dishes we ordered. There were some minor technique issues with the plates such as a slightly overcooked egg and a giant tomato slice, however the seasoning and overall flavor was spot on. We both had the tiramisu for dessert which was pretty much perfection. Aside from the food, our server was great, she was super friendly and attentive. Bellisio’s makes our list of places to return to in the Duluth area.

Great wine menu. Slow service. Arrived at 3:15 after grandmas marathon and there was a very limited menu. Simply wanted a salad topped with Brushetta and the manager said«take $ 2 off» so salad and bread: $ 17. What would you think!!!

There are two good italian restaurants in town and Belissio’s is one of them. The other is VA Bene. Belissio’s has by far the most comprehensive wine list in Duluth. In the glory days, Belissio’s won several Wine spectator awards for its storied multicolored list. The wine list has been up and down since then, but as of today it seems to be restored to its former glory. There are dozens of both red and white wines to drink by the glass, and let’s face it, some of them are pretty drinkable. The bottle selection is notable, with selections from the French, Italian and American worlds. There are inexpensive and interesting flights. Make a reservation if there is an event at the convention center or a hockey game. It’s a short walk to the venue from this place. Order the Tuscan salad and rigatoni balsamico, which features a voluptuous marinara sauce and suasage. The cheese plate is splendid. This wine list would be a four star review in any city in the world. If you like Italian food and are looking for a reliable place in Duluth that won’t let you down with its consistency, this is your choice.

I really enjoyed this place! Which was unexpected. I had this lobster lasagna-like dish that was one of the specials. Delicious. The bread that they served before the meal was adequate. The wine selection is otherworldly. It is contained in this enormous catalog that could pass for a photo album. Lots of excellent wines at reasonable prices.

The food overall was excellent. The waiter was excellent. The great deal is that we ate there on a Monday and that is ½ price bottle of wine night — on the entire wine list!-still good for Duluth but not exceptional many places!

Omg the food is outstanding. I had the walleye with mashed potatoes & brussel sprouts. SOGOOD! My companion had the mushroom risotto & ate every last bite. Don’t Let The«Carrot Cake For two» Fool you! It should be called the carrot cake for two TABLES — it’s seriously 4 tall layers & looks(&tastes) like something out of a magazine. Special call out to out fabulous server Britni. She is exceptional, attentive & has a delightful sense of humor!

This is the only Wine Spectator award winner in the area and they are truly deserving! After traveling in the area for a bit, we were tired of the usual beer, ect… And wanted a quality bottle of wine and food to accompany it. Bellisio’s stands up against fine Italian restaurants anywhere. We shared a Caprese salad with super fresh tomatoes, basil and some of the best mozzarella that I’ve have. Our entrees were beef tenderloin and walleye Milanese and both were very good, Service was professional and atmosphere was very comfortable. When in the area I would definitely be back here!

What a treat it is to find a place like Bellisio’s in Duluth. A feeling of calm surrounds me each time I enter. The menu is outstanding. Have not seen or tasted something that was not way above average. Over Sixty Bottles of Wine by the Glass. I will say that again. Over 60 Bottles of wine by the glass. Deciding on the wine took twenty minutes. Service is not only above average, but delightful, attentive, informative and with just the right amount of personal opinion. We have returned and we will return. Wish they were open twenty four seven as our times when passing through Duluth can vary and their limited hours can be schedule changing.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile but I was quite disappointed with the menu selection. There were very few items that a vegetarian would consider. I ended up asking if they could make the antipasto vegetarian and the waiter had to go find out. But he forgot and came back asking what we wanted, so we had to wait to find out a couple times before ordering. My sweetie ordered a salad. They had an extensive wine list but very few choices for by the glass. We opted for a bottle because of this and the pricing of the glasses. We asked the waiter for a dry chianti but the wine he suggested wasn’t very dry. The outdoor seating was pleasant. The waiter was attentive and polite. Overall the price is high for the selection and experience. I wanted to like this place, being that I love Italian, but I doubt I’ll want to return.
