Do not buy any Groupons or Living Social Deals for Nails by Cindy. I purchased a LS deal for a gel manicure and got on her website to book it right away. There is online booking available but the LS deal says that you have to call to make the appointment to advise that you have the deal. On top of that, her online calendar said she only had one opening up until the week of Christmas. It wasn’t even thanksgiving yet, so I assumed something must be wrong. I called the number and got a friendly voicemail telling me I could book online, or text her with any questions. I will include screen shots of my conversation in the review to show that I had to message her on 3 different days before I could get a response. And it actually wasn’t until I let her know I was canceling my deal that she responded. She let me know she was really busy and the salon had been closed. Well, it took almost a week to hear back, I do not believe that they were closed the entire time, and even if so… Could you not just text me back and say that? I feel like this is one of those businesses that gets you to purchase a deal, and then is never available… Based on the other reviews, I would say that is the case.

Didn’t fully meet my expectations… I recently purchased a Living Social deal for a gel manicure with Cindy. The location was oddly quiet and empty during my appointment. A little music, perhaps? Despite the silence, Cindy seemed to really focus on what she was doing. They had a decent selection of nail colors — plenty of autumn tones. While Cindy worked diligently, I noticed some flaws around the edges. I mentioned my concern. She only repainted one nail. 2 days after my appointment, I had a couple of air bubbles under the nails — THEWORST. I would prefer a more thorough job, which lasts for 7 – 12 days. Thus, the deal was good, but the service was only okay. I definitely would not pay full price for the service I received.

Worst customer sevice ever; I was stuck in traffic for 40 minutes, finally had a chance to call(safely) and she refused to reschedule. Not sure how you expect to build clientele or keep them if you can’t be flexible to things beyond control(policy or not).

I purchased a Groupon for three manicures with Cynthia and was highly disappointed. Enough so to try and beg Groupon to give me my money back. No dice. So I bought this three weeks before my birthday as a birthday present to myself, because I wanted to pamper myself. After several attempts to contact her by email, their business phone, and her phone listed online with no response or call back I was extremely frustrated. All the way up until the day of my birthday, I could not get ahold of anyone at this establishment. I had to go to a different salon and get my nails done that day. It wasn’t until I complained to Groupon that she called me back. So I scheduled my manicures and she was a nice enough lady. The place was clean and seemed decent enough. There was never anyone there though. No customers, no other employees. No wonder they never answered the business phone. The gel manicure itself was OK. There were only a few colors to chose from and they were not the best. She filed my nails down extremely thin with a regular nail file. So the texture was rough and uneven. She never smoothed them out before painting so the polish was bumpy looking. And it’s a big pet peeve of mine not to cover the complete nail, which she did every time. Always had the sides of my thumbs bare! Also, within three days, at least one of my nails would chip or peel. Honestly, she was a sweet woman, so I don’t like saying any of this, but I would never go back there. The entire experience was just frustrating and a huge waste of money. She even charged tax at every appointment, even though I bought a Groupon. I have never been charged tax or extra fees anywhere else when using a Groupon. I go to other salons and spas all the time, so I thought that was pretty annoying too. Overall, nice person just didn’t meet my expectations in quality and service. I don’t recommend this place at all.

Bought a living social deal for massage and salt scrub treatment. Even though I was a little late they were super nice about it. My massage was with Jaime and she was really sweet! Talked to me at the beginning but was good about no during-the-massage conversation. No one likes that! I felt super relaxed and awesome afterwards! I def recommend scheduling with Jaime if you’re going there!

I tried Jacobsens with my daughter for a pedicure. If your into do it yourself feel then this is a good option. If you want a moderate or elegant spa feel; this is not the place. They bought a do it yourself foot bath from the likes of Meijer or Walmart. There was a rickety old chair to sit in with a folding screen for privacy screaming 80’s. They had an old fan to dry your feet rather than professional lighting. When your seven year old notices the lack of quality amenities to go along with the experience; it just speaks to the garage sale feel. Her words were — mommy I’m not trying to be ungreatful, but let’s not go there ever again. Also during my pedicure the person left to go move their car then forgot to paint one of my toes. I’ve had much better experiences in a strip plaza place. Perhaps their other services are more professional.

I’ve been going to Jacobsen’s for 9 years and I’ve always been 110% satisfied with my services(all skin care). I feel as though when I get a facial at most other places, they simply just wash my skin and put overtly powerful fragrance on. Laura uses manual extraction(yay. I am obsessed) and my skin is always glowing. everyone always compliments my skin. I love that they do not push products and only suggest what truly will benefit my skin. Laura(the esthetician I see) is truly skilled at what she does and clearly loves her job. She answers all my questions and and is beyond horough. I can’t believe this place has not been reviewed!
