This is an epitaph, not a review. Fuzio Dublin closed at the end of October, 2010. Judging from what I’ve read about the business history of Fuzio, this was the latest in a long line of Fuzios that have closed. Thanks a lot, wizards of the Calmex, Inc. head office. That dead fifth star is for you. The other four stars are for the good folks who worked at Fuzio Dublin. For years, this was a favorite after-work place to unwind with wife and friends, to sit around the high bar tables, order some Firecracker Pork or Crispy Calamari Linguine and appetizers all around, have a few drinks, and enjoy life. It was also the first choice for a good number of birthday dinners. And hey Duane the bartender: You are excellent. Let us know where you end up, and we will be there. Meanwhile, I wonder if Red Tractor would be willing to start serving martinis.

A friend & I went Monday night during happy hour… It was pretty dead but the service was quick, which was appreciated since we were heading to a movie. We ordered a draft beer each + crab cake appetizer, all $ 3/ea during happy hour… cha-ching! Everything was tasty and delivered hot from the kitchen. I had the portobello+pesto sandwich, tastey and the right portion for $ 8.95. My friend ordered the firecracker pork fusilli and I was snacking off her plate, it was DELICIOUS! I will order that everytime I go back… Just a little on the spicy side but still devourable. It was only $ 10.95 and a huge plate of it made it well worth it. $ 37 with tax+tip between two people for drinks, apps + dinner is not bad at all, esp since we had leftovers to snack on. Haven’t always had such a great experience here but I definitely plan on returning for that fusilli!

I’m a fan of Fuzio. We went here on Friday for Happy Hour and were amazed at how delicious and inexpensive the appetizers were. Everything had a hint of spice, and I love hot food so it was a perfect combination. I’d recommend the crab cakes, spring rolls and lettuce wraps. The sliders were also fabulous and perfectly paired with the Tamas Pinot Grigio that I ordered — very refreshing on a hot day!

We came here to grab dinner before our movie over at the neighboring Regal Cinema. Having seen this place a few times, I never really knew what it was by its name or its neon sign, but we gave it a shot. Upon walking in, we were greeted by a friendly gal who walked us over to a table(the place was pretty dead on a Friday night at 8pm). Our waiter shows up about a minute later and he’s also pretty friendly and attentive the entire night. He even chatted with us for a little bit – cool guy. The menu was weird, consisting of some Asian ‘fusion’ and a bunch of Italian style pasta dishes. It’s like Elephant Bar meets Pasta Pomodoro, but set in trendier environment. Looking back now, I suppose we could have asked or tried to pair the dishes together for some sort of cohesiveness, but we didn’t. We ended up splitting two appetizers and one entrée that did not go well together at all. The two appetizers we got were way too salty, and still somewhat bland tasting. One was a lettuce wrap with spicy pork inside, and the other were some ‘slyders’ and onion strings. The rigatoni entrée we got wasn’t too bad, but was overpowered by some huge chunks of bacon. All were cooked well, but lack any pow. I probably coulda made them myself at home, and let me tell you, that’s definitely no compliment to the dishes. Ultimately, it just felt that the overall execution and theme of the restaurant may have contributed to its downfall. Many types of dishes that probably wouldn’t go together if you wanted any sort of continuity from start to finish. Appetizers that were a little too heavy – not sure if that’s the best word to describe it; they could easily have been the entrees. I wouldn’t cringe at the thought of going back again, since it was still a pleasant dining experience overall, but it won’t be on our top list of places to grub at with so many other restaurants nearby in the plaza.

My boyfriend took me here for one of our anniversaries. I was kind of excited to try out a new restaurant, especially one that serves pasta because I for one, LOVE pasta. We go inside and was seated immediately. They brought us our menus and some bread and gave us a couple minutes to decide what we wanted to eat. My boyfriend went with the four cheese ravioli and I didn’t really like or dislike my dish enough to remember what it was. All I remember thinking was«man, I should have gotten the ravioli» because I tried some of my boyfriend’s dish and liked it a lot more than whatever I got. We also ended up waiting half an hour for our food when the restaurant barely had anyone there. I swear, there were only 3 other tables with people when we ordered our food so I don’t understand why it took them so long to make our food. My glass of water also got no attention at all. The waiter came by to check on us only once during the beginning of the meal to see if we were okay and then disappeared for the rest of the night until we wanted the check. To be honest, I kind of really hate this place. It started out great and ended so horribly. The only reason why they have 3 stars is because of the ravioli. I’m not coming back.

Good food, slow service. Went here for a «quick» bite to eat during the lunch hour. My friend can not eat onions, so he asked if the tuna sandwich had onions and if he could get it without onions, the waiter said that he could get it without the onions, so he ordered it. Why did they wait all the way till the food was done and brought to the table to tell him that the tuna had onions mixed in so they could not get the onions out. Now I have my food but he has to order something else and wait for it. They keep a star for the fact the food was good. All in all I only recommend this place if your not in a hurry.

Friday night a girlfriend and I decided to get in for their Happy Hour specials before our movie started. Boy am I glad we did! We tried nearly every single one of their $ 3 appetizers. They were all great, and well worth $ 3. Beer, alcohol, etc are not really«happy hour» prices, but there are a few things that they put on their happy hour menu. They were out of the first 3 beers that I wanted, so I ended up having to get a beer full price. Not a biggie especially since the appetizers were such a great deal! Can’t wait to come here again for happy hour!

Fuzio was a Fuzi-NO! We were hungry and I had a bit of a pasta craving but refused to wait 45 minutes to be seated at Romano’s Macaroni Grill. This place is just down the way so we decided to give it a try. We walked in and the place was practically empty. Hello, it was Saturday night! This should have been my red flag to leave but I didn’t. We opted to sit at the bar wanting quicker service. After all I was starving. Our server was nice answered our questions and got our order out quickly. Both of us opted for universal pastas which turned out to be universally BAD! I had the Rigatoni Alfuzio which had way too much garnish greens on top and my gal had the Mac N Cheese which was super boring. Even the slice of bread that came with the pasta felt dry and flavorless. Considering I was starving and it still tasted horrible I am never going back. This place is simply not my cup of tea!

I’ve been to Fuzio’s a couple times, once during lunch and the other for dinner. Both times I’ve experienced an enjoyable meal. Their sandwiches are a great choice for lunch. I’ve had their Italian Club with Thyme Fries. Instead of fries you can pick a Garden or Caesar salad. The sandwich was pretty delish and filling. For dinner, I had their Shrimp Scampi, served on a bed of Linguini. Even though it only came with four pieces of shrimp, they must’ve used Colossal Shrimp because those babies were huge! The Linguini was probably a little too lemony, borderline sour for my taste but, it complimented the Shrimp nicely. During my last visit which was dinner, we were seated and waited about 5-minutes for our server… I was too busy looking at the menu and didn’t really pay much attention. Our server came up to us an apologized for us waiting, which really was no biggie. After he took our order, he came back and offered us an appetizer on the house, which really wasn’t necessary but hey, free is free! The manager even came up an apologized. Geez, talk about great customer service! BTW, the Fried Calamari was delish! :) Fuzio’s doesn’t serve the best Italian food and is far from authentic but, if you want your pasta fix on, it fits the bill.

I’ve always liked this place — Dublin, Modesto… And now that they have half off pizza and pasta Wednesdays… CARBHEAVEN! (sorry if I’m repeating any reviews but I’m too lazy to read them all first) Also this location sells movie tickets for $ 8, great idea guys ;)

Tony D.‘s review is pretty spot on. The firecracker pork is the reason to come here. I used to mix it up but no longer! It is spicy, tangy, sweet and just good. Other info… The restaurant is really pretty unique. I would not go so far as to call it trendy, but it is a least current. They have a nice big bar and the kitchen is open for viewing for the diners. I have never had to wait for a table and the servers are at least friendly and sometimes efficient. Minus stars… –The drinks are good but expensive. –They changed their menu and no longer have the Southwest Chicken Gemelli. I know a said the Fire Cracker pork was the only reason to come here, but the wife loved this pasta and now that it is off the menu, I might not get to come back very often. –They only give you bread before your mean if you ask… the only reason I can think of why they would not just readily give you bread is that they are being cheap. This is a little annoying.

Would’ve had 4 stars if they didn’t run out of the Thyme French Fries. I have never been to a restaurant that has run out of french fries. I was heartbroken! Since they ran out of french fries, I tried the chicken lettuce wraps instead. Good stuff! I actually enjoyed it over the entrée I chose. Which was the Grilled tuna with mango salsa. I had better. The tuna was overcooked, the flavors didn’t mix with the noodles it came with, and I was not impressed with the presentation — it looked like a plate of worms at first! We also ordered the Fuzio Firecracker Pork Fusili — this(and the mango lemonade) definitely made up for the tuna. Highly recommended! I can usually guess the ingredients by the flavor of the marinade, but I couldn’t put a finger on this one. It is so good. I was a little disappointed with the service. They didn’t offer to refill our drinks until they dropped the bill on our table. Aside from the booboo service and overcooked tuna, I don’t mind giving this place another chance. Fuzio can thank their Pork Fusili. =)

I normally dine at Fuzio on Wendesday when all their pasta’s are ½ off! What a awesome deal in this economy! And i always get the Fuzio Firecracker Pork Fusili– this and Fuzio just goes hand in hand! The Firecracker Pork Fusili comes with corkscrew pasta and tender braised pork and has a great flavor to it-it’s salty and packs a bit of heat at the same time! To comment on some of their other items… Their rock shrimps are more pebble sized rock, the onion strings are really crispy but stringy, their calamarie linguine is good but not spectacular, the rigatoni alfuzio barley had any bacon in it, skip the shanghai noodles– you won’t regret this– all veggies and you know better not to order an asian dish at an italian restaurant, the chicken sausage penne– has my seal of approval… But if you want to be smart, just get the Firecracker Pork Fusili, because i’m not sharing! I’m giving it 3 stars because i only really like one item out of their entire menu!

How can any restaurant go wrong with a classic chicken parmesan dish? Well folks, this place did. My chicken came out uncooked. Where it was still pink and veiny. I poked at it and thought maybe it was the light. But nope, it was clearly uncooked. I called it to my waiter’s attention and he kind of just looked at it and goes, «Well, our cooks always cooks it for a long time…» sounding like a little boy. I was caught off guard at his response and was like, okaaay then. But after a few more minutes of poking at my chicken, we called him over again and was like, «Chicken isn’t suppose to look like this at all.» He’s like, «I’m sorry, you want something else?» Heck no! I lost my appetite. At least be apologetic and act like you know what you’re doing as a waiter. You don’t have to comp my meal but at least act like you’re sorry and not stupid. Yes this place is a chain, but I’m sure i could’ve gotten waay better at an Olive Garden or something.

In terms of Dublin cuisine, Fuzio gets 4 stars. There just aren’t many quasi-upscale(I use the term loosely) restaurants in Dublin… so Fuzio gets props for going all out to create a modern, swanky, fun place to host parties and enjoy a good meal. The lettuce wraps and delicious and a must-enjoy appetizer. The panini’s aren’t the healthiest, but they are darn tasty and a staple for most of my visits. I would like to see Fuzio do something w/the focaccia that they serve with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It’s very plan and could use a good toasting or some type of light spice. Just a suggestion. Another great thing about Fuzio is the bar. I’ve never ordered anything from their bar, but if I did, I imagine I’d feel very cosmopolitan and sufficiently nestled within a hip clique of creative types that go from club to club enjoying martinis and the like.

I had a good lunch here. We were served focaccia and olive oil immediately upon seating. The bread had good texture, but would have been better warm. The menu is quite extensive, with a range of sandwich, pasta, and other entrée options — lots with an Asian flair. I ordered the signature Fuzio Firecracker Pork Fusilli and my companion had some cream-based pasta with chicken. Service was impeccable. The dishes came out very quickly and boy was my dish spicy! It was decently tasty, with tender marinated shredded pork and perfectly al dente fusilli, but it was so hot that I could only eat a third of my dish before I started tasting heartburn. The pork was gingery and the dish tasted strongly of soy sauce(and was also overly salty as a result). It was served with a small scoop of sour cream — maybe a little more would have helped temper the spice. Portions were generous and we were too full for dessert. It’s a pretty good lunch option. I heard their happy hours are decent too!

It was a Saturday in the normally bustling Hacienda Crossings. The economic times were very apparent here with nearly an empty restaurant. I’ve noticed most restaurants have stepped up their customer service. Hubby had a lemon asparagus pasta dish which was pretty good. I had the pesto salad and steak panini combo which was equally satisfying. Our server recommended the tiramisu which was okay, but I’ve had better. I have to say the food is good but it was really the service that made it a better experience. Our server routinely checked on us and was extra friendly. Unbeknownst to us, she misquoted hubby on the special of the day he ordered. And even though it was only 80 cents more, she told us she took the difference off the bill since that’s what she originally told him. That was nice of her to do so. Thanks for upping your game with great Customer Service Fuzio!

I set up a dinner here for a large party last night. I was very impressed with how the staff handled us… YEA! Our table was ready when I arrived early so I could greet my guests. Our server was amazing, she was even willing to do separate checks… and did so with amazing organizational skill. Drinks arrived quickly and seamlessly, as did the food. One in our party ordered the wrong dish, and it was corrected with no problems. Our checks were done right, and we were out in plenty of time for our movie! Wine list was good, but provided no descriptions for the novice. Wine ran $ 7 – 9 bucks a glass, and at that price, was a very small pour. There was some great food, and some OK food. They have added many items to their menu. The soup, and Asian Fusion dishes rated higher than the Italian ones. My Italian dish was very bland. The focaccia bread was too salty. The tiramisu was lovely, but the«apple crisp» was a total joke…$ 6 bucks for some raw fruit in mascarpone cheese, with an amaretto cookie on top… come on! I was pleasantly surprised at our experience!

I’ve been here once and as much as I hate to bag on places or write bad reviews, I sort of have too. My review is more less based on service and where they sat us. Basically they put us in a spot that was right smack in the middle of a walk way where both consumers and waiters run back and forth every minute or two. That gets annoying especially when you are ass bumped multiple times during the coarse of your meal. Now I mentioned something about it and what did you all do? You just looked at me and said sorry. OK I understand the place was packed and I was hungry; but I was OK waiting another 10minutes for a table that did not involve me getting ass bumped every minute or two. Naturally I didn’t know that when you sat us down but seriously, how could you even put a table in that location? It was almost comical to see the location of this table. I quickly asked for the check, paid for our meal, and bounced. PS. the food, eh had better, tad pricey, and overall not to thrilling.

I do love the abiance here. It is a nice restaurant… but the food however is ook. I’ve come for lunch on a few occasions. The salads are decent and pastas not bad. Would I come back? Sure why not…
