I went into this store today looking for natural, untreated, emerald earrings. The only pair they had were $ 3,999 and were very large surrounded by diamonds. I told the assistant manager(an Asian woman with an accent, I didn’t get her name) my price range was $ 500-$ 1000. She told me that a pair of earrings around $ 500 would be microscopic. I showed her my engagement ring, which is a .33 carat African emerald purchased from a small jeweler in Australia through , and disclosed what was paid for it, and that a pair of earrings within my price range should be possible. She then proceeded to tell me that my engagement ring LOOKSFAKE and that she wouldn’t believe it to be real without paper work(note I have had this ring appraised and authorized by Northern Appraisal Services. I know it’s real). She said she had never seen an emerald the color of mine, which is a medium light bluish green. She showed a complete lack of knowledge regarding emeralds, as they can come in a wide array of colors from pale green to very dark green. The darker and clearer an emerald is, the more valuable the stone is. The region it comes from also affects the value. Colombian emeralds generally trade for higher values. The fact that my emerald is a medium light hue in no way affects the beauty or significance of it, only the monetary value. There is absolutely no reason why this woman should have not been willing to help me find a pair of earrings that match in my price range, and to tell me it’s impossible is ridiculous. I feel like I was not being taken seriously because I don’t appear to have a great deal of money to spend. My price range might not be anything to some people who go and spend thousands on jewelry, but $ 500-$ 1000 invested in a pair of earrings is significant enough to be taken seriously and treated with respect. I don’t care if I was looking for a $ 100 pair of earrings. I deserve to be treated with respect and to experience quality customer service. You don’t ever question the integrity of a person’s engagement ring in that way, especially when there is an obvious lack of knowledge on the stone itself. When I asked her if it was treated, I suspect by the way she answered me she didn’t even know what I was talking about, or was unsure about that particular pair. If this jewelry chain only purchases emeralds in the very top color grades to sell, that’s fine, and I would have understood that they can’t help me find matching earrings. Overall, I would NEVER suggest this place to anyone, nor will they ever have my business.

My husband and I were on a mission to find wedding bands for our upcoming wedding. We had recieved some information in the mail from Andrews Jewelers and decided to check them out. We knew what we wanted and didnt want to spend too much money on the rings, yet have something that would last us for quite some time. We were quickly waited on and the associates helped both of us try on rings. After trying on several rings, we both found what we were looking for, at a reasonable price. I opened up a credit card which helped pay for the rings over the next several months. Definitely a place we’ll go back to in the future.
