It’s a unique little cafeteria here, usually very loud and swarming with kids. It’s inexpensive, food is precooked and warmed in bins. Flavors and freshness are hit and miss ranging from terrible(salmon, pastas and dry apple cake) to pretty good(meatballs, mashed potato and gravy, garlic bread). Meatballs have that chewy, spongy texture due to being frozen, but they’re pretty good with that tasty gravy and a touch of lingonberry jam. I’ve only had the horse meat balls, I have yet to try the veggie version. I still miss the original large meatballs they served here. They had better flavor. We sometimes eat here during or after a long shop. Prices are more than fair. Sometimes tables don’t get cleaned fast enough. Though a bit cramped, it has a simple yet modern, fun atmosphere that the kids seem to love most.

Very disappinted in the special christmas dinner we bought tickets for. Every food item was room temperature! Not hot or cold room temperature…

This is another place I’ve visited for years but never checked in or reviewed on Unilocal. My pregnant daughter-in-law and I had lunch here yesterday so she was very aware of how kid-friendly they are at IKEA with children’s favorite foods, portions and low prices. They even have baby food! If you can make it past the front entrance without ordering cinnamon rolls, pizza or hot dogs, eat here! It is cafeteria style so sometimes there are lines. They have a good variety of options – Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, gravy and lingonberry sauce; salads; chicken strips with fries; fish; fresh vegetables; macaroni and cheese; pasta with marinara sauce; drinks and desserts, etc.

I feel like there were people here eating, that weren’t even shopping at IKEA. I don’t know if I would make a trip to eat here specifically. It’s cheap, and the food is OK. When you’re in IKEA for 3 hours and your sister’s 4 children are saying they’re hungry, this place makes perfect sense. But beyond that, I can’t say I’d come here. I got the veggie balls, and they were sort of bland, the sauce was sort of cold. I also had the veggie medallions, and those were fine. It’s inexpensive, and that’s nice. But just like the IKEA shopping experience as a whole, I was left feeling slightly confused, a little aggravated, and sleepy.

I know this is a restaurant but I happen to like the food here. When I’m shopping it’s so convenient to stop for an inexpensive bite to fuel up and get back to shopping in this massive store. The eatery is tidy and has a tv always showing a kids movie which I think is nice.

Ikea now has vegetarian gluten free«meat» balls. They are pretty good, and taking the fam here to eat is inexpensive while shopping at Ikea. The service is pretty terrible, though. Both times we’ve eaten here, the lady serving our food has a total bad attitude, and seems completely annoyed with the presence of the guests she is serving. It just happened to be the same woman both times we’ve dined there… maybe someone else would have made our experience better. A good point about this place is that it’s super kid friendly, it has a kid eating area with toys, games, and cartoons. And kid meals are super cheap.

I like to eat here. Not sure if it’s to feel closer to the Swedish ancestors or the meatballs. I like the salmon, ribs and meatballs. The breakfasts are pretty decent for the value. That being said… they really need to hire more compitent people in that kitchen! They are slow, they run out of hot food and make you wait while they are heating up more. They’ll have one person working the line and a couple more wandering around aimlessly. How bout they wash their hands and help the person on line out! Especially when they’re serving a family of 10 and the line is backjng up! Unacceptable. If your going to do it, do it right! We do like the Family membership which allows for free hot chocolate for the family.

Love ikea. Great place to shop for inexpensive furniture. And little gadgets, it is nice to have a restaurant where you can grab a quick breakfast or lunch and if you have a toddler, you can shop with ease with their courtesy playground. :)

Ill start my review by saying that i do love the meatballs! That being said, this pleace really is just medeocure at best. I dont expect much, being that it is a warehouse store cafeteria, but they could do better with all the equipment they have in there. I ate here a couple days in a row and then a couple more times the following week because we were in the process of fully furnishing out house, so i had a few different specials, and none of them were anywhere as good as the meatballs. I do like the longonberry soda.

Don’t EVER come here on a Tuesday. It’s kids eat free day — which is the most asinine thing to exist in Utah. These Mormon mommies practically bankrupt IKEA feeding all 9 of their kids for free. It’s madness. As far as their average products like curtains and kitchen accessories I think that ikea is a better choice then Walmart. I do like their selection and the showroom is always fun. It’s a nice day if you happen in during non kid hours. Which is like before noon during the week. Don’t even bother coming in the summer because you’ll probably try to hurt someone. If you’re going to make a day of it and you have Xanax on hand it’s really not a bad deal. I have a lot of furniture and stuff from here because it is well priced. I don’t think the quality is that far off either. And the food is fine for the price. I even would go so far as to say I like it. I just hate kids… I’m sorry I really do and it’s one of my biggest pet peeves about Utah. People start young and they take their kids everywhere. This place is no exception.

It’s cafeteria style, a big thing in many parts of Europe. Great quality food! Organic food for babies and kids. Super soups. The salmon is moist and delish! The chocolate cake? Divine! We’ve tried almost ever dish and have always been satisfied.

Ikea’s in store restaurant is convenient and not all that bad either. I wouldn’t order the hot items(Swedish Meatballs included) or desserts but I do like their cold salmon plates and simple salads. Because the cold plates are pre-prepared, things could be more fresh but it seems like they take great effort in keeping things as fresh as possible.

Not as good a value as I remember. The meatballs & potatoes are always great. If it’s your first time here, just accept the fact that you are getting them, and that you will like them. The Caesar salad was the worst I’ve had: limp lettuce, soggy croutons, stale chicken. The Greek chicken orzo soup is really good. The turkey ham & cheese panini is … a grilled ham & cheese sandwich. It’s not a real panini, but not bad either. The grilled chicken fingers are pretty standard fare. I like the breaded French fries that come with a lot of meals. For dessert, that chocolate overload cake is pretty great, but be careful cause they can sit out for a long time and get a stale layer on top so be choosy. Overall, the food is cafeteria food, but not as bad as middle school food was by any means. The food cost more than I expected, and wasn’t the great value I remember. So if you’ve been lost wandering in the store for hours and are famished, sure, stop by and grab a bite. But definitely don’t come here just for the meal.

I was impressed with this little food court. I personally would come here more often if it weren’t so far! It’s much better than a big Mac, or french fries. Prices were reasonable(kids meals for $ 3.99, or free on Tuesdays!) and they have a good looking bunch buffet on Sundays — I think it was $ 7.99(or $ 8.99, can’t remember the exact price). They also had good vegetarian dishes, and all dishes came with delicious steamed vegetables. The kids loved it!

I love Ikea’s Swedish meatballs. I could eat them all day everyday. The prices here are good, and the food is overall decent. Also, lingonberry soda!

I couldn’t eat here everyday but it’s really nice to have the restaurant in the store since you’re gonna be in the store for a while! I usually get the Swedish meatball meal(mashed potatoes, gravy and ligonberry sauce) which is good. Tip — they also sell jars of Gerber baby food in case you need it!

The food quality at this place has plummeted since it opened a few years back. Don’t know what happened, but it used to be fairly tasty. Not anymore.

I like this place. I like that they have specials, despite that I have never taken advantage of them. I like that there are plenty of highchairs and even a little tv/play area for restless kiddos that are done eating so parents can eat in peace. That is, if these kiddos are not already having a blast in SMALAND. Cheap date for parents of potty trained kids: Drop the kids at the free SMALAND, wander around IKEA for a while, ala(500) Days of Summer, and then finish off your date with a cheap dinner at the IKEA restaurant which incidentally has a great view of the magnificent Utah mountains. Also, for you haters, IKEA furniture possesses thoughtful design and packaging which is non-existent in your local RC Please-Kill-Me. There are options at all price points, some being sturdier than others, but IMO this is a good quality. Sometimes you just need to furnish your studio for like 500 bucks, and here you can do it without selling your soul to Wal*Mart. The giant warehouse design and mass-produced items are part of the business plan to make good design affordable and easily accessible to the public. Mission accomplished, IKEA.

OK, so no one probably goes to IKEA just to eat their food(however I have a couple friends in Europe who’d do that!) But when you’re shopping at IKEA, and you want to take a little break, the IKEA restaurant is a fun place to stop and munch on something before you search for another piece of simple furniture again. So what should you get while you stumble upon IKEA restaurant? Two words: APPLECAKE!(see photo!) I know their apple cake is not fresh homemade goodness, but the reality is that it’s consistent and tasty, and better than many of the«fresh» cakes out there in stores and restaurants!

Once a week we got to ikea whether we feel like spending a load of cash on their functional and frugal goods or not. Why? For the 1.99 all you can eat pasta night on Mondays! Not much more to say. Everything I’ve ever had from the eatery was incredibly delicious, I’m addicted to the zucchini marinara, which it turned out you could buy by the jar downstairs, and also the strawberry cake(which you could also buy but I have yet to do so). What you are getting is really a smart design totally built around the concepts of efficiency, sustainability, function, and of course common courtesy, just like the rest of ikea. The selection is flexible, allowing you to get pretty much any combination of the items they offer, and the whole experience is no-nonsense. The staff there treat us very nicely, even before they started recognizing us as regulars. Despite the unfailingly excessive amounts of unsupervised and untethered children running around(and their clueless parents equally as often getting in your way whilst wandering about the place), it keeps bringing us back every week.
