Elite Event: National Burger Day At Smashburger

The best damn Unilocal team in all the land has put on yet another fantastic event for those of us with crippling addictions to great food and beverage! Prost!

This is my first Elite event that I attended. People asked me where have I been for the last three years.
I guess I missed a lot of yummy food and never got a chance to chit chat with people who had same passion for food.
Is it me or the burgers tasted extra flavorful? I can tasted all the little ingredient in the burger. I actually ate fried onion in my burger. Shocker! I favorite is the mushroom swiss. The truffle oil just enhanced all the flavors.
I usually eat pretty healthy and rarely consume red meat. After I stuffed myself with all the juicy burgers, the night bathroom trips were lovely. It is was not for food poison because I had no stomach ache. I guess my body is no longer use to burger anymore. Hehe…
Looking forward to more future event.

Jeffrey never fails. Smashburger stepped up and served us more than enough food, basically every burger. I have to say my favorite was the original. I like the cheese and veggies together. Also their fries are weirdly thin, I don’t prefer it. But the rosemary was delicious. I do have to mention their chocolate shake. It was probably one of the best chocolate shakes I’ve had. It wasn’t too sweet, creamy, just the right amount of chocolate.
Drinks were excellent, I enjoyed the redneck punch and the waitress was excellent. Great turn out, great meeting more elites!

Back at Smashburger again, I guess even until this day I still mixed up their sign up with Gamestop. It seems like an annual event now that we had Elite parties at Smashburger so many times. White Trash Burger was the theme of this weekend, and it was fun to see many of us showed up according to the theme.
We had some white trashy theme type of drinks, I had the Redneck Punch, and it was full of Mountain Dew flavor. Smashburger had their employee #1 came and spoke with us, his name draws a blank now since he was 80% lookalike with one of my bosses at work… We sampled a selection of the menu, which was similar to last year. Spicy Baja was still my favorite, they added a twist on this one calling it «Chipotle» and adding guacamole, and added a very nice balance. Second favorite was the Avocado Chicken. My least favorite was probably the Truffle Mushroom… since I never liked mushroom.
Thanks to Smashburger for hosting us once again, as well as our benevolent Jeffrey and beloved Nat-​tern for organizing another great elite event.

I thoroughly enjoyed this event. Each item we sampled was so full of flavor. My personal favorites were the goat cheese chicken sandwich and the truffle mushroom Swiss burger. I’m a huge cheese fan so any cheese out of the ordinary catches my attention and the mushroom swiss had the perfect hint of garlic. Their burgers are very juicy and fresh.
The fries… oh those rosemary and olive oil fries were some of the best fries I’ve had. Such an upgrade from the normal greasy fry.
Both milkshakes we sampled were very good. So good I had two each.
While my stomach was far over well done/​full, my taste buds left very happy.
Thanks Natalie and Jeff for another good time. I love these events and I love meeting new friends at every one.
Lastly, thanks SmashBurger for all the great food and for giving us a great introduction/​glimpse into what the company is all about. It’s obvious you really value the quality of your products as well as your customers.

Lots of food. Lots and lots of food. Lots of good people, too. It’s always fun to see fellow foodies and talk about the sort of things none of my non-​Yelp friends are interested in. Big thanks to Smashburger for their generosity, and of course to Jeffrey and the Unilocal team.
Now, the food. I’d never had a Smashburger before, and I do think I like the taste and quality enough to come back, especially when I’m looking for something better than fast food but not as involved or time-​consuming as a top-​notch restaurant burger.
1. My favorite was the truffle and mushroom burger. It didn’t have the normal veggies and was a bit salty, but I don’t know how anyone can hate mushrooms. And burgers. And salty truffle sauce. I honestly thought this was the best burger because it was the juiciest.
2. Chipotle /​Baja /​Spicy one – you get this burger for the bun. It has a nice slow burn to it, and it fits nicely with the rest of the flavors.
3. Classic smash. Good, regular burger. Nice flavors. Nothing new to see here, so it’s for those who don’t want to be surprised.
4. Black bean. Honestly. .. a bit to «pasty» for me. Not my favorite.
5. The fries: very good. I like a thicker fry, but the rosemary flavor was unique and interesting. Sweet potato fries always work.
6. Shakes. A little thin, but the salted carmel was tasty. A little more carmel than salt.
7. Chicken. Did they smash the chicken? I think so because it was pounded thin. .. personally, I liked the taste but would prefer a thicker slice.
Overall, good stuff. Great event. I’ll go back.

Super fun event! If that’s white trash, I don’t wanna be anything else.
Smashburger was generous with the samples and I can honestly say I enjoyed every single item thoroughly. The chicken was my favorite, and I will be back for that black bean burger, too!
Jeffrey and Natalie put on a fun time for all, loved the candy cigs. I made sure to take extra to send with my kids to school the next morning. Jk! Loved this event and enjoyed getting to know new friends and see some new faces.

By far the best burger i have had in such a long time.
Tried everything on the menu with out demolishing the burger by taking the onions/​tomatoes ect. off like i normally would.
I even tried the mushroom burger and spicy guacamole burger and i hate mushrooms and spicy food.
I would have to say the rosemary fries are by far my favorite fries EVER.
If you have the fries you have got to try the spicy fry sauce too!
I am still craving them today and just might have to go back for some later tonight.
I was a little hesitant about the smashed chicken burgers but oh my, they were SOOOO delicious.
As for shakes, my favorite has to be the salted carmel shake, it makes my mouth water just thinking about it!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE being Elite. I get to try so many things that i probably pass up every day.

It was great meeting other Unilocalers and the the theme was great.
Burgers were all amazing. I especially liked the mushroom swiss burger with the truffle oil and those shakes. I will definitely be back.
Now it’s time to go find a spot in my yard for those flamingos I won.

Man, Elite Events are totally awesome! Meeting Tanya L and Jeremy F for the first time, and sitting across from the eminently charming Aimee C, made the whole evening really enjoyable.
