Donkey Tails Cantina

Hubby and I attended a paint night here and it was pretty awesome. We had dinner beforehand and it was good food and quick service. The place was clean.
It’s funny because I didn’t know that this restaurant had a bar of its own attached.

Love this bar. The bartenders are great. It’s a great bar to just hangout and relax.

Waited 20 mins for a [subpar] $ 8 margarita. Not impressed. Menu prices were inaccurate between the two menus given to us as well. We left and went to Los Cucos. Best decision I made today!

First… We weren’t sure whether the place was even open. We wanted to sit on the patio but we didn’t see anybody around so we decided to sit inside. Then. Food took FOREVER (Almost half hour for some wings and fajitas). We had to ask for silverware when it came out. We never even got asked if we wanted another drink. We wanted to start with wings and they came with the rest of our food about 25 minutes after we ordered. They were dry and hard. The other food was decent but not enough to make up for the piss poor service. We wanted to give this place another shot because it was SO bad last time… Surely it couldn’t get worse than last time! But we will definitely not be back. Ever. This place used to be so fun and upbeat! It needs some major help. Side note: I work in the restaurant industry. I’m not being insensitive or harsh. I have high standards of service, yes, but not anything out of the ordinary. It wasn’t busy enough to just completely neglect guests who aren’t regulars. C’mon. Do better.

Food is alright. The quesadilla is the best thing on the menu. What does that say? Nice patio. Service is usually good but can also be bad. I preferred the place before the remodel. I suppose I liked the venue more quaint and quiet. Lol

Great little sports bar!
They recently remodeled the outside/​indoor patio area and it looks awesome!
They have tv’s, fireplaces, and garage doors that open up the inside to outside area.
I went here on a date night and we shared the grande nacho and fish taco plate. It was a ton of food and very delicious.
The service was good too!
Downside… Is they allowed customers to Vape (vaporize cigarette) inside. Seriously… I was hoping the waiter would ask them to stop but he never did. I suppose I could have asked our waiter to say something. But it should have been obvious to not Vape where others are eating.

If you like Nickelback, a poor beer and wine selection, and sadness, this place will be right up your alley.

Day time eating is fun, but my ladies and I have had WAY too much fun hanging out at the awesome bar during the evenings! So many interesting and fun varieties of people to meet and just hang with! Karaōke night is pretty legit!

Fun little bar, the staff aren’t particularly helpful but the mixed drinks were good and Wednesday night is karaōke! The kj is super nice and alot of fun, I’m pretty sure his name is John. And they have a cute patio area. Overall I liked the atmosphere, the only down side is you get the «draper crowd» there, aka cougars and lot’s of affliction t-​shirts. But it IS in draper so I guess I was asking for it. :-)

ONE STAR BECAUSE I HAVE TO!!!
Walked in, waited, waited some more, asked a bartender if we seated ourselves, rudely the answer was yes, found a table on the patio, it was dirty, proceeded to a table «inside», it was dirty as well.
Staff seemed more preoccupied chatting with regulars and less concerned about cleaning tables or helping us, so we left.
Won’t be going back!

WORST. SERVICE. EVER
There on a Tuesday evening with two friends sitting outside on the patio. Did not have any member of the wait staff come up to us at any point… Had to go order our own drinks each time and wait in line at the outside bar. Then to order food had to go ask for menus and then bring back our good order to the inattentive bar staff and put our order in ourself… Then PRAY that they actually brought our food to us. They did… 45 minutes later!
Did you want me to go into the kitchen and cook my own chimichungas??? Surprised you didn’t expect me to bus my own table!
Oh and you forgot that chips and salsa appetizer… Yet you still charged me for it.
Seriously, I work in a business where I have minimum wage employees working with no tips and get berated for not putting a napkin in a guests bag… And you expect me to give you a tip for the service you just gave me? Yeah… I don’t think so.
Been here many times before without a single issue so maybe it was an anomaly. But I truly feel that people who work in food service as servers these day feel entitled to get tipped no matter what. Heck I’ve forgotten to give a tip before and gone back the next day to make sure that my server got their tip! But the servers outdoors on Tuesday night 3÷25÷14 were horrendous. We don’t tip you because you’re cute and you have a nice ass. This isn’t a strip club.

Love this place. Caters to all kinds. Did not know it existed for a very long time. A eccentric mix of bikers, ex-​mormons. The guys strumming the guitar on the patio on Friday night is awsome,
Nice to have a unique and fun place in a sea of chain places.

I swear I wrote a review for this place already but regardless… here it goes!
I love this place. Staff, food, beer, the dollar bills taped to the ceiling with filthy pictures and dedications to various body parts… all awesome. Its a tiny Mexican themed dive bar in Draper!
How can you go wrong? Taco Tuesday is the best thing you can do on a Tuesday in Sandy, South Jordan, and Draper/​Riverton. Fifty cent tacos? Yes. Binge.
The beer prices are also solid. I remember I went here after living in NYC for awhile and gave the bartender $ 40 for 4 drinks I bought. I was waiting for change and noticed he didn’t take the $ 20 bill I’d left. I was annoyed, then jubilant! I totally forgot how reasonable prices are here! Wooo!
The outdoor area and fire pit is great during nice weather, its not bad in the winter either. there is a serious lack of 20 somethings, especially females, but I usually go with friends so i don’t care too much.

Donkey Tails Cantina is tucked away behind Guadalahonky’s Mexican Restaurant in Draper. Although the bar is in the same building as the restaurant, you can’t get to the bar from inside the restaurant. Instead, head around to the back of the building and look for the Donkey Tails door.
The bar itself is relatively small, but they manage to pack quite a few people around the few tables they have. Be sure to arrive before 6PM if you want to get a table for you and your friends, or be prepared to stand and wait for a long time.
If you’re hungry, you can order anything the restaurant serves. Be prepared for a lot of food, though! The beer selection is decent, and you can find drink specials on certain nights of the week.
If you’re looking for a place to grab a drink in Draper, this is your best bet. Just have a backup plan in case the bar is too crowded by the time you get there.
