First, let me say that the Apollo Burger in Orem on State Street has always been a local favorite burger place of mine. That said, I was excited to go there when I found out there was one in Draper, but it turned out that the food was nothing close to what I was used to. The food just wasn’t good, not just for me, but the other two guys I was with had the same experience. One of those times that no one comes close to finishing the food since it just wasn’t good. The biggest turn off was the meat. It was really dry and simply didn’t taste good. Anyway, not sure if it’s just a difference of different owners from location to location but this location didn’t hold true to what I usually experience.

It’s Apollo Burger. The sandwiches are decent, not great. The fries and fry sauce are excellent but the onion rings are just a step down from the fries. It’s a place to go to for lunch or dinner but I wouldn’t say it’s a destination that I would seek out.

3 stars at best, I would even go as low as 2 on the quality. The onions rings tares like cardboard, and the burger bun was kind of stale. I did however liked their coke, really sweet and awesome. They keep the place clean and the location is really accesible. The employees were nice.

I was craving for a crispy chicken sandwich, stopped by appolo and basically got a sandwich with chicken fingers in it! Lucky the fries are yummy!

Stopped into this place on a total whim, as my company is relocating me to their Draper office soon, and I was out wandering aimlessly to get a lay of the land on my scouting mission to find a new apartment. The interior looks about like your typical fast food joint, but the prices are certainly much higher than your burger and fries joint from the big chains. Is Apollo worth the extra hike up in price? Yep, I would reservedly have to say it is. Great quality meat and super fresh veggies were on the bacon cheese burger that I ordered. It was quite tasty. The fires were also hot and crispy, and after a few min conversation with the clerk at the register, I got introduced to the whole concept of «fry sauce». I am not sure what it consists of, but it was a nice change to the more typical condiment of plain ketchup. It reminds me a bit of my last trip to Europe when I was in Belgium and Holland, as they too are big advocates of such concoctions from all the street vendors who sell fry cones. The restaurant was quite clean and the aforementioned staff was prompt and courteous. I will return.

We went on 3−8−15 the girl that helped us(drive thru) was very friendly and helpful. The food was good but it took FOREVER to get our food. We may give them another chance but they need to figure things out.

Boo! I love the Greek owned restaurants in SLC(Apollo, Atlantis, Crown, etc.), but I will NEVER go back to Apollo. Not only have their prices gone up, and are high for the size/value of the food, but I sat in the drive thru for 20 min at 6pm on a Sat. When I finally got to the window I was fuming and told them to cancel or throw my order away. I told him it was 20 min for a freaking hamburger? Total moral objection that kind of service.

Seriously one of the best bacon burgers out there. 5 stars. Love the food! We’re regulars and will always be as long as you don’t change the food!

Extremely rude staff member told my husband and i to basically leave when we showed up at 9:50 p.m. to grab a burger. Last I checked, closing at 10:00 mean closing at 10:00, not 9:50. We will never go here again!

I must say this place used to be okay back in the day, but with the price hike(5+ bucks for a burger) this place has lost it’s luster for me. Well, you add to it that they precook the burgers and hold them in burger drippings next to the broiler and it makes it a complete turnoff for me. This place was voted the best combo by city weekly in 2011 and now I doubt my faith in that publication… Take a tip for me, try five guys for a chain burger… At least they cook it fresh & stick to the independents if at all possible.

It has some decent food at almost every location. But this location in particular has some of the rudest staff members ever. And sometimes orders take up to ten minutes. I actually was in the drive-thru once, on a Sunday, for 20 minutes… And there were only two cars ahead. The way they can improve is to be a bit more polite to their customers.

I decided to sneak away from work one Sunday afternoon and get a grilled cheese or two. No one knew I left, so I wanted this trip to be as fast as possible. NOPE. I ordered two grilled cheeses and an order of fries(I like to eat my feelings), and I am pretty sure I waited at least 20 minutes for them to be completed. When I finally got back to work(a 2 minute drive), the bread was soft and soggy, and the fries were flavorless. The only thing I enjoyed about my secret lunch was the cheese. They have damn good cheese. I have been to other locations which have done a much better job, so I think I’ll be staying at work like I am supposed to from now on.

I’ve always been a Crown Burger fan but one day I tried the Golden Burger at Apollo and all was right in the world. Don’t expect to lose any weight eating one of these things(or at Apollo Burger for that matter) but every once in awhile, you have to indulge. The Golden Burger includes pastrami and buttery golden toast instead of a bun. Yep. Sadly, this location is not my favorite. The burger was just okay here. Bread seemed different. Not only was it not as crispy and fresh, it seemed like a different type of bread altogether. Still greasy and cures my craving!

I was wary, and honestly a little out of my OCD-like comfort zone, while approaching Apollo Burger for the first time. I was on my way to the airport and wanted something to tie me over for the long day of travel ahead, and my sister insisted on eating here. The place is a little sketchy from the outside, and although clean it seemed dated and worn inside. I was anything but excited. The woman working the counter was noticeably irritated that we interrupted her personal cellular phone call and hurriedly took our order. I ordered a safe bacon cheese burger. I have regretted it ever since. Why? Because I crave Apollo Burger’s bacon cheese burger on a bi-daily basis and live 1,000 plus miles away. It’s salivating torture. It was so flavorful! And their fry sauce was definitely the best I’ve ever had. Yeah, I said it. Best burger in SLC? I’m starting to lean in that direction…

If you need to lose weight fast, I recommend this particular Apollo Burger! Nothing will clean you out faster than this place. It’s managed to give me severe food poisoning both times I went there. Great fry sauce I’ll agree, but that’s not much of a consolation when condiments are about the only thing you feel like eating for 48 hours while running in and out of the bathroom… censoring the rest since I suspect most people will get the image… The only good news is, it’s great as a weight loss plan, lose 5 pounds in two days for an amazing $ 9 value!

The only thing keeping me from giving this specific location 5 stars is the poor customer service. Whoever owns this particular restaurant needs to retrain their employees. My wife and I walked in, our first time at an Apollo burger, asked the employee a question about a menu item and he was just staring down at the register not paying attention to us. My wife asked again and he gave us this look like«Really? You don’t know what that is??» The employees all seemed more interested in socializing with their co-workers than helping customers. Several times I overheard them saying«I don’t care.» And I do realize they could have been talking about anything but just hearing them say that and talking casually with each other in front of customers comes off very unprofessional. It almost felt like I was a stranger coming in here, I did not feel welcome at all. The only employee that seemed to pay attention to us was a woman who came in for her shift as we were leaving. It’s really sad, because the food was great, I got onion rings with my combo and they were awesome! Nice and crunchy, but not too oily either. It was really nice, and the burger was made really nicely too. It didn’t look like it was just thrown together carelessly, it actually looked as good as it tasted! It wasn’t as hot as I expected it to be, I think because it was ready before the fries were, but still really tasty! The restaurant was very clean and tidy, you can tell that they do take care of the place. The garbage cans were not full, all the tables were wiped down and clean, the floors looked clean and mopped, and the windows were nice and clear, no streaks or anything. I would have loved to give this restaurant 5 stars, but the poor customer service, and attitude of the employees totally killed it for me. I would go back, but probably just use the drive thru instead.

Apollo Burger — the prince of the Utah-Greek burger drive-throughs. Astro Burger and Crown Burger(and incidentally, Burgers Supreme in Provo) are all versions of Apollo, with the very same menu. Evidently it’s all owned by offshoots of the same Greek family, who opened the first Apollo Burger back in the 70’s or 80’s or something. And a huge menu it is! Hubby always gives me a lot of flack when we come here. Although I complain incessantly about people who can’t make up their mind at drive-through windows, I unapologetically spend at least 3 – 5 full minutes trying to decide what to order at Apollo Burger. It’s not like Wendy’s or KFC, where the menu doesn’t significantly change. Do you want cheese on your burger? Original recipe or xtra-crispy chicken? It’s all so simple! Apollo Burger offers so many different types of foods, including items that one would never expect to find at a drive-through burger joint.(eg., fried zucchini, rice pudding, and Baklava!) Enjoy the Clif’s Notes version of their menu: — Burgers(like 15 different kinds!) — Sandwiches(much variety) — Burritos(really?) — BBQ Beef(available in sandwich form, or platter if you ask) — Fries(some of the best in the state, served up with some of the best fry-sauce in the state!) — Hot Dogs — Greek food(gyros, souvlaki) — Salads(unexpected combinations-Gyro Salad!) — Platters(fish, chicken, Souvlaki, complete with sides!) — Shakes(basic flavors, good for kids palates) …and kid’s versions of several of the above… The burgers here are great. I’m a big fan of onions, and I love that their burgers standardly come with onions. If you don’t want the onions, you have to say so. It’s nonsensical and tiresome always having to «add onions» to a burger elsewhere. I typically get the regular old cheeseburger combo(#3) with fries and a Coke. There’s something about this combination of flavors that gels flawlessly with me; like Aretha Franklin playing the harp. Perrrfect! Hubby always orders The Apollo Burger(pastrami), which is not merely a heart condition wrapped in paper… it’s a full-scale three day meal. Wow, this thing is obscene! He somehow manages to consume this house of a burger in about four minutes, though. The other foods at Apollo are not as impressive as the burgers & fries. That is not to say that they’re bad by any stretch. In fact, the gyros are pretty tasty. But, compared to Mad Greek or Greek Souvlaki they aren’t as flavorful or creative. I enjoy sticking to the standard burgers and accompaniments here. I should mention that Apollo Burger(AND its sister joints) have THEBEST versions of Coke products on tap, and it’s truly the only place I order a Coke. I don’t know why or how, but I suspect it has something to do with the calibration of their soda machines. Or, those Greeks are adding something deliciously addictive to it. Maybe they own stock in Coca Cola. Who knows. And who cares, as long as they keep it going. I’ve been mulling over a new burger which would be such a great fit for Apollo/Astro/Crown…the Donut Ham-Hamburger. It’s a regular burger, with a ham topping, stuffed inside two glazed donuts for a bun. I call it the Lipitor Express. Order with a Diet Coke and you’re golden. You’re welcome, less-health-conscious Utahns…

Pretty much just another Utah Greek Burger Joint, which of course means: awesome hamburgers, crispilicious onion rings, and the best fry sauce in the State. I go here when I need my sporadic grease fix.
