My husband & I love this place! Great atmosphere! The menu has a nice variety! I usually get the grilled Caesar salad, which they took off the menu but will make upon request, a grilled chicken breast, & the Brussels sprouts – all great choices! Back when I wasn’t worried about healthy eating I would get the mac & cheese, also very good! Dessert is homemade by one of the bartenders & is always yummy!

Been here several times, both as a diner and in the bar, for dinner and for brunch, with friends and with family. It’s fun at night on the weekend, there are always people in the bar area. Food is always consistently good. I especially love their oyster shooters!

Your inside female bartender on Friday night was a NIGHTMARE. I’ve never experienced such rudeness in my life and I’ve bartended and served for years.

Did a weekend dinner here. Not bad. I’m not sure this would be my first choice for dinner, but the food is generally tasty.

This place has fantastic wings, but exclusively played late-90’s pop for some reason. Felt like someone selected All My Life by K-Ci & Jojo as their favorite song on Pandora and went with it. The wings were amazing though.

Lame, not very busy so the assumption would be good service. NOPE! «Hows my hair, hows my cleavage!»

I am new to the area and was Googling for the best burger around. This place showed up on one of the lists. Despite the fact that most of the rest of the food is Asian best, we decided to go for it. We ordered over the phone and picked up the food so I can’t speak to the service aspect. I was expecting a lot more from the meat(grass fed too.) I had the bleu cheese burger. It was kind of tough and had many pieces of gristle. It felt like a frozen patty that maybe hadn’t been cooked properly. I don’t know. Was disappointed because I was really in a burger mood that only strikes every so often. My husband got the bbq pork flatbread which was good but nothing to write home about. The brussels sprouts were actually awesome. The flavor was great. There was a LOT of sauce on them, but picking them out of the box they were nice and warm and delicious. Maybe one day I’ll go back but for the Asian style stuff. Until then a lot more places to try around town first!

We came on a Thursday evening. I so wanted to love it here. It got two stars because it did have a nice ambience. I was so looking forward to a nice meal and was sadly disappointed. We started our meal at the bar where we had cocktails. I had a gin drink that claimed to be a cucumber gin cocktail, but was really just a glorified gin and tonic with a couple shaved slices of cucumber as a garnish. They do offer a 5 to 7 happy hour so it was half-price so all in all it was worth it. At our table we ordered several appetizers(there was 6 of us) the pulled pork flatbread was mediocre at best, the calamari under seasoned and extremely chewy. The tuna roll was tiny, not extremely tasty and no pizzazz whatsoever. I think it was most disappointed in my main meal. I had a New York strip steak that was supposed to come out with mashed potatoes but I opted to get brussels sprouts instead. It also came with onion rings. I don’t think they put any type of season whatsoever on the steak. They tried to mask that with a little A1 steak sauce but that’s always a bad idea. The steak itself was cooked correctly a nice medium rare, so I was pleased with that even though I only ate about five bites of it. The brussels sprouts that they sent out were just cut in half and basics just boiled, without any salt pepper or again seasoning. Blah! Last but not least the onion rings. They were tempura battered but again no salt in the batter. The onion rings were bland and flavorless. All in all as you can probably tell, I was extremely disappointed with my meal.

Awesome food. LOBSTERMACANDCHEESE– awesome. I had the sushi which was good but pricey and my boyfriend had the burger was just okay to him. We also ordered wings which were good but sooo small. Waiter was okay. Never checked on us. Pricey not sure if I would come back. Maybe just for the lobster mac and cheese lol

Went here early summer for a friend’s birthday dinner. It was alittle too fancy for my taste. Waitress was a little too laid back, forgetting our orders, taking way too long for our drinks and on top of that, taking our dinner orders. Was disappointed with soup but should have known it was not home made but probably plastic. Will probably never go back though. Not sure if the leisure atmosphere was typical for the restaurant and customers… but not my taste either. Rather have proficiency.

23 years in town. Kids out of the house for the past 5. We eat out about 6⁄7 days a week. 86 has become our go to place. One of the friendly faces is Jenny. Like no other!!! She’s sweet, unfettered and a seriously good girl/bartender. We will continue to have dinner here any and all times Jenny is serving.

It has been a while since last I posted a review — not that I haven’t wanted too… But alas me thinks too much imbibing hath withered my wittiness from time-to-time. So — before my Pinot Grigio takes over completely… 86 West in downtown Doylestown has continued to set the bar for other establishments in a crowded market. I can honestly say that my first mate(my wife will cringe when she reads that) and I have never had a bad meal here. Although occasionally service waivers, the food is always top shelf. On the topic of service– the first mate and I(again with the remote cringes) almost always seek-out Jenny at whatever bar she is serving. Jenny(forgive the 12 year-old impression you are conjuring-up with this …) is the consummate professional. Having spent my fair share of time on both sides of a bar– I appreciate a good bartender/server. 86 West + Jenny… Straight on good night. Ok — Mike is back. More reviews to follow!

Did some bar-hopping on a Saturday night and was not impressed by the bartenders(outside bar) with attitude who ignored me for a good 10 minutes while helping no one else. Yeah, thanks for the $ 7 beer. Better service next door.

A bad parody of itself with tasty food… Average to slightly above average; the food was tasty but about 15% higher in price than I would expect for a restaurant of its genre. There was unfortunately nothing good that stands out about 86 West. It’s just a nice neighborhood place that has tasty food but an annoyingly *pretentious(the dictionary definition fits perfectly) vibe. As someone born and raised in Manhattan I am no stranger to going out to nice places and I feel that the aim of the place is quite literally to pretend to be something it’s not. They fancy themselves a high end place to ‘see and be seen’ but fall way short by virtue of being ‘snooty’ because they feel they are«too cool for school», this is painfully obvious and kind of painful to watch. The staff appears to have little to no experience dining at truly fine places themselves(just a vibe) and acts like they are just ‘tolerating’ your presence. This is obviously their interpretation, maybe from watching movies or possibly even the ‘higher-ups’, of what a «fancy» restaurant is. The truly finest restaurants, at least in NYC such Daniel/LeCirque which I have had the good fortune to be able to eat at, are very friendly and make you feel great when you’re there and smile when you walk out. They know that good food only goes so far and their job is to make you feel great. This goes for lower priced fine establishments as well. Of course you can’t completely blame the 86 West staff as individuals, even though there is never an excuse to be rude. I’m sure they are interpreting a corporate culture, why else would it be so pervasive? What they are in desperate need of is a field trip to the kind of restaurant that they would so obviously like to be. My suggestion would be to go to Balthazar or Minitta Tavern in Manhattan(for example), those restaurants are fancy and have very fine food and for well over a decade are completely happy to see you… always. They cost about the same as 86 West yet are worth a 90 Min drive to get there from Bucks county,(Hint to 86 West: it’s not just the delicious food). I think that they need to really look at themselves and maybe even rename themselves as well, using the address as part of the name is tired and used up, it was cool in 2001 but indicative of trying way to hard to be cool in 2015. It would also be a great way to tell people«we are ready to happily serve you delicious food», because they are not quite saying that now. Anyway as far as the food goes, I had a very tasty burger with blue cheese and caramelized onions as well as some other good stuff, it was delicious! With regards to the sushi; it was heavy on rice and light on fish, the sauce was heavy on sugar. This was also true regarding my fiancés Brussels sprout appetizer, they would have been perfect with just a teaspoon less sugar in the sauce. The kitchen at 86 W. is guilty of doing exactly what Kraft and Nestlé as well as local Chinese takeout places do with the ‘too much sugar treatment’. Sugar is essentially used to fool the pallet into thinking something is more tasty than it really is, the strategy works less and less as people become more savvy about what they eat. Fortunately this is only on some of the dishes and could be easily remedied. My fiancés steak was over done, but that was her fault so I cannot comment on it, her fingerling potatoes with truffle oil were delicious and we ate them with great efficiency. In summation I would say that this is a definite possibility for dinner/drinks if you are in the area but don’t expect an amazing culinary experience. If your aim is to have sushi pick one of the higher rated sushi places as it appears that the sushi is just an after thought even though it makes up like 25% of the menu. Don’t take 86 W. too seriously and it probably won’t disappoint you, bring good company and if the weather is nice eat outside and you will probably have a pleasant evening.

I have only eaten here outside – the patio is so nice on a spring(or fall) day! I’m usually a fan of going here for lunch – not necessarily dinner. In my opinion, it can be a bit pricey so the lunch menu is perfect. I usually get a salad and a sushi roll; my favorite is the vegetarian roll, but the tuna roll is good as well(these are the ones that are around 10 dollars for one roll). I have gotten the Tuna Crunch roll before as well(a bit too much sauce in my opinion). It’s a bummer that they stopped serving the beet and goat cheese salad, it was amazing!

I’m giving this place 3 stars because of the atmosphere: The bars outside are a lot of fun. Came here with some friends on a Saturday night. We were told it would be a little over an hour for a wait. We weren’t starving, so we headed to the outside tiki bar for some drinks. About a half-hour later, we were seated outside for dinner. I ordered the Black & Blue burger with fries. The burger came with no garnishes and did not have any bacon on it(the burger is supposed to come with bacon, creamy blue cheese and jalapeño marmalade). My friend ordered the same thing and her burger didn’t have bacon on it either, so I assumed it was in the dressing. I felt the burger left something to be desired. I think lettuce or bacon would of been great, something with a crunch. My plate was literally a pile of fries, a bun with a patty slabbed in the middle. The blue cheese sauce was delicious, though. My friend ordered the oyster shooters and the ahi tuna sliders. He said they were pretty good.

The food is OK, but the staff here is the biggest turn off. I’ve been here twice in three years and from the hostess to the wait staff the vibe was the same: pretentious. I won’t complain at length. I simply won’t go back.

I love both bar areas of 86 West, but will usually prefer to sit inside since there is no smoking. Kat the bartender is very attentive and made great suggestions. Her signature drinks are awesome! Ask for a pb&j shot! The sushi is made right in front of you, and they truly are artists. I usually just get a spicy tuna roll, but there are many creative rolls and tea sandwiches to choose from. My date had a burger, which was grass fed beef with bacon and he really enjoyed it. We’ll be back!

Calamari app was decent. Little cool, and seemed like it was only warmed under their salamander for two minutes, or under heat lamp for five. Entrees were good. Bartender wearing a sweatshirt with silver writing on back; «I’m not nice.» Really? Her cracking gum was annoying. Along with, her eating of Reese’s candy was enjoyable. Don’t know who the male bartender was at the back bar. He was great. Don’t know either ones name. They didn’t introduce themselves. They should be thankful that the food brings people back. Because, it’s not the people.
