Visited for the first time yesterday, for Father’s Day Brunch buffet. I realize the buffet is not always a weekly occurrence, but it looks like many of the items offered for Brunch were served up, so I felt it ok to review. The place is fairly new, as you will tell from the banners around the place. Still easy to find, but permanent signs should be on the way. Immediately greeted once inside and me and my girls were sat within a minute. Very nice structure inside. Exposed beams up above and not super bright. Very relaxing space. Always nice to be able to see into the kitchen for an Italian restaurant. Decent tap list for craft beer lovers. Noticed Bell’s and Dogfish to name a couple. We sat there for just a couple minutes and our waitress came to us and took our drink order and explained the buffet quickly. We had our drinks and made our way to the buffet area. We came in at a popular time, so it was going to be a bit of a wait for the omelet station, so we worked our way around and helped ourselves to scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown potatoes for the first plate. Everything was warm and tasty. Bacon was not crispy, but that is just my preference to cook it a bit longer. Eggs were solid and the potatoes were very good. Nothing over-salted. After the omelet line was gone, I went in for a pancetta, tomato, onion, asparagus omelet with no cheese and it was fantastic. The brioche french toast was lacking a bit, but I feel that is something you want to order fresh. Good news was my kiddo loved it with the awesome choc. chip filling they had to go with it. Nice to have a small bowl of plain yogurt with fresh strawberries and blueberries as well. Finished off with the lemon chicken(breaded) which was plump and super juicy. I wasn’t even hungry at this point, but enjoyed every bite. Desserts were exceptional too. A pound cake of sorts with a killer filling and small chocolate dipped pastries that were those Neapolitan style I love so much. A couple danish options too. Some sliced melons too if that’s your thing. OJ for me and my daughter were included and my wife helped herself to a sangria. She enjoyed it very much. All said and done, a very nice day for me and my family. Will be back to order off the menu, as the brunch items not in this buffet sound amazing.

Ate here for dinner a couple weeks ago. I had chicken Parmesan, which is one of my favorite meals. I must say, Milito’s probably has the best I’ve had anywhere! We came here for the lunch buffet about a month ago. It wasn’t bad, but not a lot to choose from. Maybe about 5 or 6 entrée items, a vinegarette salad, a pizza, and a couple pastry type dessert items. The food was good, but they didn’t really keep refilling the items when they ran out. The same pizza was up there the whole time we were there. I was hoping they’d bring a different kind out, but it never came. I’d have to say I like Limoncello’s lunch buffet better. The only thing this place has that they don’t is dessert at the buffet. The ambiance here is very nice and I love the location.

Unfortunately I can’t rate zero stars and still leave a review. Spoiler alert — I can’t really comment on the quality of the cuisine. That’s because on a relatively slow Sunday afternoon we sat for 10 to 15 minutes waiting for a waitress to acknowledge us as any number of them walked past us. For a fairly pricey menu(for Downingtown) I would think their service game would be significantly better. I heard some grumblings around us so I’m sure we weren’t the only ones. But there was no reason to wait and pay those kind of prices for that kind of service. This is either the third or fourth reincarnation and to be honest, I don’t think anybody has learned the lessons about what works in here or doesn’t. I keep seeing similar menus and similar pricing and similar poor service. Seems like the latest restaurant birth here is dead on arrival– again.

First the positives… the ambience of this place is simply wonderful. We visited at an hour that was between lunch and dinner so the place was nearly empty of patrons. I can’t speak to how it would be with a crowd of diners, but being as quiet as it was we could hear the soft music playing and enjoy the view of the large lengthy dining room fully. It is ultra clean and beautifully decorated and that includes the restrooms. Now as to service… it was very good in one way and not so good in another. The negative includes the fact that there was absolutely no one watching the front for incoming customers so after some time we ended up seating ourselves and my companion went in search of help. However once our server arrived she was very pleasant and accommodating. She even brought us water after taking our drink order without being asked. Not all places do this anymore. She also did a good job checking on us appropriately during our meal. Unfortunately, as with the beginning of our visit, my companion had to go in search of help in obtaining our bill at the end of the meal. Now as to the food… that too was very good to not so good. In my case only, I was disappointed when I was told that they don’t own a blender(I really don’t understand not having such a vital piece of equipment at this type of restaurant) so I was unable to have the virgin piña colada I usually have with my meal. I was offered instead a concoction made with mineral water and strawberries and it turned out to be totally undrinkable. My companion, however, was very happy with her Prosecco. Our main dishes included a shrimp and linguine and a spaghetti with meatballs. They were plentiful, hot, delicious and served in beautiful oversized bowls. My only minor complaint is that the meatballs, although large, were just a bit soft rather than firm and meaty. The texture gave the impression of more filler than meat but I can’t fault the taste. And now my biggest complaint has to do with extras. Outside of our main course there was absolutely nothing else. I am referring mostly to bread of some kind. I would have loved to have had even a small slice of garlic toast in order to sop up all the leftover sauce in my platter. I can’t remember the last time there was not some form of bread served with a meal, especially in such an upscale location. I didn’t mind not having any salad because the main dish was so filling, but I dearly missed the bread. Overall this was a pleasant dining experience, but they could look towards a few thoughtful improvements in order to draw me back for another visit. This was my second visit. The first time was a year before when it was still called Stella Rosa and I remember it with a slight degree of more favor.

So bad. I love this location and the other restaurants here did well for a while. Militos was a total disappointment. Hostess and wait staff is way too young and inexperienced. Service was poor. And the food was horrible and incredibly expensive and not worth the money. This location has an amazing setting and great outdoor space and no one has ever quite capitalized on it. Very disappointing to lose a great spot. Will not return.

The service was excellent and the view is very nice. The fried cauliflower was too heavy on the breading and lacked much taste. Styers is much better. Pear salad was good with a nice dressing. Pulled pork sandwich with long hots was good, but the fries were tasteless and limp. Several people ordered the pizza’s which looked good, so might try it again for lunch.

The place looks very cool… love it! Location great too. Or food was wonderful and so were our drinks. There’s a guy singing and playing guitar in background. He is great! We looked at their rating after we finished and it was only 3.5…don’t understand… we thought it was great! 4 – 4.5!

Such a great night. Food was delicious. Portions were huge. We had lasagna, pizza, penne, and spaghetti. Met the owner and enjoyed the great hospitality. We also enjoyed the music! Thanks for a great night out!

Ate dinner here back to back by myself on Friday and Saturday nights. Friday night: Beet salad, seared salmon special, double chocolate cake Saturday night: Pear salad, gnocchi special, ricotta cheese cake All well-prepared and delicious. Slight ding on the pear salad which was slightly overdressed. Slight ding on the chocolate cake which as a little dry … but went great with my zin! Will be bringing a party of 8 family members back in a couple weeks.

Service is terrible. Ordered an old fashion and it was horrible(tasted like whiskey water). The swordfish was bland. Its a shame because the building and location is awesome.

As someone with food allergies it is not always easy to find a great place to eat out. Milito’s made me feel very comfortable that my food would be in no way contaminated with dairy and answered all of my questions regarding the ingredients. The pear salad was delicious! I will most definitely be returning.

Mediocre at best. 3 out of 4 people enjoyed the fried cauliflower, the 4th found the breading too heavy and the cauliflower tasteless. The Mozzarella Frites were very good. Wife order ravioli and was disappointed in the number of raviolis(5 small ones). One dining partner order a Meta e Meta(Half Pizza Half Stromboli) which was really a pizza with one half folded over itself. Dining partners wife ordered chicken parmesan and was satisfied. She was especially happy that the pasta portion was not overwhelming. My choice was the Linguini and Mussels in red sauce which was described as Steamed PEI Mussels in Spicy Red Sauce. Mussels were good but I’m still waiting for any sign of spice. For an Italian restaurant, the food was noticeably bland. Service was not good. We didn’t get bread until our meal was almost over and we had to ask for it… as did all of the tables around us. The waiter(who I believe is the owners son) seemed not to be able to handle more than one task at a time leaving empty dishes and glasses on the table and a lack of follow up service. Not sure I’ll go back.

Had lunch here on Tuesday. My husband had the buffet. He didn’t have much to say one way or another. My brother had the chicken parm. It looked over cooked. I had shrimp scampi. Not much flavor. Shrimp were decent size and fresh. Need to step it up! In this day with so much competition you have to be exceptional!

Oh my. The place is amazing. Cannot say enough; excellent food, friendly waitstaff and the owner was out introducing himself to the guests. Beyond all of our expectations. We will most definitely be back soon.

The Old Mill in Downingtown has new owners. Stop in for a drink, they have great happy hour specials or stay for a meal and meet The Milito’s, Joe&Leslie. They retained some staff from the previous restaurant which helped them to have a smooth transition. I went a month ago for dinner and was pleased to see an old fashioned tradition of greeting the guests and that was how I met Joe&Leslie. The waitstaff is also very friendly and attentive. This building was a historic mill, it is very beautiful and spacious inside. When the weather gets better make sure you have a meal on the deck, overlooking the stream. I went for happy hour last week and the pizza was Buonaaaa. The girl next to me was raving about the veggie meatballs but they also have beef. Nice variety of salads&pizza but I chose the eggplant parm and look forward to my next visit

The décor is very nice. The place looks rustic and classy. The food was also really good. We order the Antipasto Board and the Meta e Meta. The antipasto board was very good. It had olives, sopressatta, provolone, eggplant, roasted red peppers, roasted tomatoes, pepperoni, mozarella and fresh tomato. It was definitely shareable appetizer. The Meta e Meta was a half pizza half calzone with prosciutto. It sounded interesting and I was intrigued. While this prosciutto concoction was good, I would suggest ordering it well done. The dough was undercooked. I’m guessing it’s tough to not burn the pizza half while the calzone half cooks. Overall this place was good. I’d definitely come back.

I recently had lunch at Milito’s and it was fantastic! There were so many awesome menu items to choose from, I decided to skip the buffet and try some of their signature items. The Aunt Addie’s cauliflower appetizer was so good! Also had the Burg pizza which was very good — definitely not something I’ve had in this area. Crispy thin crust and unique cheese blend. Had to try their signature dessert, the Pecan Ball. OMG… could have eaten several! We ate at the bar, so I can’t attest to the wait service, but the bartender was pleasant and attentive. The owner, Joe Milito, stopped by to say hello and introduce himself. Will definitely go back to try dinner and Sunday brunch! All in all, a great first experience at Milito’s!

So happy to see Milito’s up and running. I’ve been in on 4 separate occasions and I’ve been more than pleased each time. Their new menu has a great selection, while keeping some of the popular dishes from Barra Rossa. My favorite meal so far has been the«Burg» pizza. I topped the pizza with prosciutto and pepperoni, wow! The dough and cheese on this pizza is very unique/delicious. The salmon stuffed with crab is another entrée I really enjoyed. I paired this with one of their delicious red wine’s and a chopped salad. If you’re looking for a good night out try Milito’s. There’s much more of a ‘homie’ feel under the new owners. Best of luck!
