Totally bad from beginning to end. Deserves ZERO stars. Terrible customer service. Came in for dinner and on a Sunday night during a game and during dinner time, this joint is completely empty. The bar was even empty. Clearly my experience tonight is indicative of the quality of food and level of customer service they treat all guests with because the last time I was here, and it was probably over a year ago, the place was packed. Our waitress was Gabrielle. She had a total chip on her shoulder. As we were finishing our drink order, she literally walked away as we were still talking. RUDE! And it’s not like she was in a hurry to get to other tables because the section we sat in(the front tiled walkway adjacent to the kitchen) was COMPLETELY empty, other than our table and one other table that got seated at the end of our meal. We ordered that thai high chicken salad: plain ice berg lettuce with two pieces of tomato, three pieces of cucumber, no dressing and some very weird pan-fried chicken that we hated. They should seriously just take that waste of $ 13 off the menu. See picture for yourself. The chicken Marsala was DRENCHED in a dark gravy type sauce that is much more pungent than a wine sauce and when we remarked that the chicken and potatoes were swimming in that disgusting sauce, she just shrugged and didn’t respond. Thanks a lot for offering to remake the dish with the correct amount of nasty sauce. The garlic bread wasn’t even toasted or grilled so that came out cold and soft. So soft I fed a piece to my 11 month old! No Bueno! My daughter dropped her toy on the floor twice and the waitress walked by, looked at it, made eye contact with me as she was walking past us, and didn’t offer to pick it up! Witch! Also, when I requested a high chair because my baby wasn’t having the car seat anymore, this young, tall male African American waiter told me I couldn’t have one because the table I was sitting at was in too busy of a section! Can you imagine that? THEFRIGGINPLACEWASEMPTY! Busy?!? Ludicrous! Our waitress made up some other excuse about safety and the floors being unaccomidating of a high chair, which also sounded incredibly stupid, but after she«got her manager’s approval» she brought over the stupid chair and without incident my daughter used it. How completely dumb. On the way out we passed the waitress and a small group of males that looked like management and not a single one said anything. No goodbye, thank you, good night, see you again… drop dead… nothing. No decency or customer service, at all. So to sum it all up, we hated the food, the service and the staff, and the whole experience from beginning to end was awful! EB, fire everyone at this location, including management, if there even is any, and the cook, and start fresh if you want to stay in business. So terrible I will never be back!

Went to have a special dinner with my wife and kids for our 21st Wedding Anniversary this evening. Unfortunately we experienced an evening of disappointment. From the moment we arrived our host wasn’t knowledgeable about their Happy Hour /menu. The restaurant had many open tables and we were sat next to a very large group having a party of some sort. They were so loud we had to speak 3 – 4 times louder to each other just to hold our own private conversations. While awaiting for or waitress for 10 – 15 minutes and yes we were timing but stopped at 10. At no time did any wait staff acknowledged us in any way. No I’ll be right with you, no I’m sorry please give me a minute absolutely NOTHING. There were two waitresses tending to local tables around us other than ours. We got up and left and as they were watching us walking out they didn’t even try to stop or question us. I had to walk back in towards staff when upon questioning for the manager. I met with Shawn the manager. He was apologetic but the damage was done by his staff. The lack of staff acknowledging our existence ruined my anniversary dinner. We were forced to go out and eat fast food instead. What a night to remember sadly. Thank you Elephant Bar.

This was my third and last time I go to this restaurant in this address. I have been to many other elephant bars and the service has been great. Every time I’ve been here it’s been shitty service. I came in and saw them serving 11 tables only. I figured for once the service would be good but no. My server kept forgetting I even existed. She kept coming over and asking if we wanted refills every 20 – 30 minutes and she never brought them. After that I just want to get the hell out of there. I recommend other elephant bars but the one in Downey Landing is at your own risk.

It’s was just ok. 1st time I’ve been to Elephant Bar & wasn’t impressed. I heard happy hour is when it’s happening, but it was ok on a Sunday evening around 530pm. Quiet, not many ppl there. TV’s up. Bar area: currently remodeling it inside. Ordered appetizers & drinks. Ordered EBR mojito(something like that) mojito was good. 1st one I ordered lil alcohol, not strong &2nd one I ordered stronger. For spending $ 9 on on a drink it should be strong. It was good tho. Had rum, mint & water soda. Appetizers: Nacho’s come w/chili type beans. request toppings on the side. Lettuce wraps: request topping on side Potato skin: Delicious! Service: Alright. 1.) came to us to take order 2.) came to ask for more drinks 3.) got check 4.) left Uhhh ok. I think it’s Asian fusion type place. Not sure.

I was taken here for my birthday for the first time. It started off very well until half way through my chicken parmesan I found something. At first we thought it was a bone. but I could see writing. I unfolded what turned out to be a crumbled up Splenda pkg. The waitress apologized, and was very sweet. The waitress was gone forever and finally came back. to tell me that, she was sorry about the dish and that I would not be charged for the dish and they would upgrade my free birthday sundae. She also mentioned that the kitchen was questioning how it got in there. the waitress told the kitchen that we had no sugar packets at our table and that nothing we drank had any kind of sweetener. I found it very rude that they would even question it. I found it even ruder that the manager never came to speak to us directly. I think the Kitchen should have known from the color of the Splenda pkg that it had been cooked. The pkg is usually yellow. the one I found in my cooked food was white. which means you cooked all that color into my food. I was not even offered another meal or anything in place of that. I mean that was not right.

Good food, good environment, ok prices, no complaints. As far as first times go this one was pretty good. I didn’t like the cold slaw though

Was not impressed at all. The service was good, but the food was a huge disappointment. I been a customer of this place years ago and my hubby decided to give this place another go since we both remember how satisfying it was back then. I guess they changed cooks, because the food was ehhh. That kinda of feeling like, I should of cooked this at home and it would have been way better. I do thank the management for trying to offer us a free desert since they didn’t want to loose us as a customer, we didn’t take it but we are grateful. Maybe it wasn’t a good day for them. Thanks for reading!

Their food isn’t that great. Their service sucks. It was empty around 1145 am and I had to wait 15 mins for somebody to actually notice me standing there for them to seat me and still didn’t take my order until 15 min later

Came here for a business lunch. The food is served up in a timely manner and portions are good. Taste is good, not great. I thought the selections were ok, but the waitress simply didn’t know the menu well. One in our group pointed to an items that was pictured in the menu, and she wasn’t sure what it was. When I asked if the Ahi was fresh or frozen she couldn’t tell me. So come here maybe, or maybe not.

First and last time here. My order was simple. Chicken nachos, salmon appetizer rolls, and an Oreo dessert. They bring my dessert first then the salmon and then the nachos. not chicken just nachos. Wasn’t bitter about my dessert first but the nachos the nachos were just the icing on the cake. They tell me the kitchen is closed so they could heat up some chicken and bring it out??? Yeh that’s not going to fly. That’s not how it should work. I know I work in the restaurant industry. Brought my gf for her first time too and we aren’t coming back.

Came here this past Saturday because Chili’s was too packed lol. … so, the decorations obviously are tropical. Elephants, giraffes, fans, palm trees, plants etc… for a Saturday, was fairly empty. The food itself, was actually really good. Drinks, not too strong. But my son’s mac n cheese was cold. Waitress brought it back, it was steaming. w e, we just let it cool down. … then comes dessert. Again, my son had a strawberry ice cream dessert. with the first spoon out of the ice cream was a blonde hair. Gross!!! We didn’t even want another. Ones it was time to pay the check, who knows where the waitress was. Took about 10 min for her to show up after she saw us up in the front trying to pay. Will not be coming back.

I was a little surprised the place was so empty during lunch hour on a Friday. They changed from the ipads back to regular menus and have them on large, legal size, clip boards. The menu items looked slightly revamped as well. The service was attentive and staff friendly, however the food was not very good; and expensive for what you get. Sandwiches were pedestrian, onion rings were super greasy, fries were bland and felt as they were sitting out for a while. [Just came back to complete my review] — Elephant Bar has a lot of competition now in the new Downey Promenade. Hopefully, they can step up their game with quality and bang for buck.

I think its literally A-OK. I think you can find food as good for a lower price elsewhere. However that should not stop you coming here if you have the money. Lets see how can I explain my feeling. I think the overall essence of this Restaurant is a bit pretentious. The waiters and service was great do not get me wrong and I loved my entrée which was the Mongolian Beef, I replaced the rice for a salad because I am chankkyy. Anyways either the portion was perfect or I was hungry because I finished the whole thing. My mother got a petite sirloin which was pretty simple, she secretly liked my entrée more but she did not want to admit it. Anyways since it was morning on a weekend I neeeded my mimosa, and of course got one. Either the waiter was perfect or they served it with a mini champagne bottle. I guess it all comes down to the fact they open at 11am but do not serve brunch or stuff like that and yes I get it people eat lunch at 11am or 12pm but I would probably come back later at night or they should open later.

Met a buddy here after work for couple beers location is decent, right of Lakewood blvd, parking easy the bar area had a few patrons, not overly busy, but not empty either ordered a tall coors light, buddy had tall sam adams we got pub burgers, which were actually decent, only have to knock the place for the chicken tenders. It’s not on the menu anymore, but they used to be pretty good… not sure why they were taken off, but if they were anything like what we were served, I can understand why the tenders we were served could have well been some leftover pieces from when they used to be a menu item… there were 6 pathetic, overcooked pieces put on the plate with a couple pieces of celery and carrot sticks for garnish… they shouldn’t have bothered really disappointed that they would even have let these leave the kitchen, any chef with a bit of pride would have just thrown them out! Of course I do realize this is not a gourmet restaurant, but c’mon, they were just plain BAD in any case, I will probably still come here out of convenience, just make sure never to order those chicken things again… big disappointment. FYI, they have nightly happy hour special, beer and pub burger or sliders for around 10 bucks. too bad we didn’t catch that before ordering… we put our order in around 8:52, could have saved a few bucks by waiting another 10mins… oh well, live and learn, right?

A friend’s birthday party brought me to this restaurant. The food is pretty good but unfortunately customer service is not the best. Our waiter was not very attentive given that our party was big. I ordered the Petite Sirloin. It was pretty juicy and was served alongside sauteed vegetables with onion rings crowned on top. But nicking a few shrimps from my friend’s Shrimp and Chicken Jambalaya platter, I knew I had ordered the wrong dish, because that jambalaya was spicy and rich and delicious. The jambalaya sauce was right up my alley, the shrimps cooked to a perfect cajun perfection! It’s located in a plaza so parking is a breeze!

This location receives some extreme love and hate that I can’t relate to. It’s a chain restaurant, not some upscale Michelin starred restaurant. Once you let that fact sink in your standards for the restaurant are automatically lowered and then this place doesn’t seem as bad. The jambalaya has a nice kick and came with plenty of small sized shrimp. I substituted brown rice for white rice for free(places usually charge extra to sub brown rice for white rice). Lunch portion price rounded up was $ 11. Normal portion price rounded up is $ 15. Quick Seared Ahi Tuna Salad was really good with a rounded up price at $ 15. Philly Cheese Steak price rounded up was $ 13. As you can see, the prices are hiked up. Service is nice but a little on the slower side if not average speed during a weekday lunch hour. I’ve also had a meal here when the place was empty on a weekend during the hours in between lunch and dinner and it wasn’t as quick as I’d expect it to be from being an almost empty restaurant. Every time I had come here, someone else was paying for my meal. I wouldn’t come here by choice if I was paying for my own meal. The prices are just way too high for what it is. There aren’t even lunch specials, just lunch portions. Probably only 3 – 4 entrees on the menu were available as a lunch portion.

Waited over 40 minutes to get our food during off-peak hour when the place wasn’t even nearly as crowded. It turns out that our order wasn’t submitted properly due to their system malfunctioning. I understand it could happen but what really got me mad is the waitress who didn’t even notice that our food wasn’t served for freakin 40 minutes and she did passed by our table quite a few times. When we finally stopped and asked her, that’s when she noticed that our food wasn’t even submitted. We(One grouchy and hungry 2 year old boy and two adults with 3 month old twins) decided to just leave having just a glass of beer and the chef came out and offered apology and some food to take home. It was right and kind gesture from him so that’s why this place is getting two stars from me instead of one star. I’m still not interested in going back to this place for their unorganized and ignorant service. Took the food home and ate them since I was too hungry at that point. I was glad that I didn’t pay for them since they tasted awful.
