I don’t understand why a full bar would only have one bartender… we ordered kamikaze shots and she couldn’t make them because she didn’t have enough time. Worst service ever. I was lucky if i got one beer per hour. Why not just have two bartenders to please your paying customers. Never again

I haven’t been here over 8 years… i was there on a Tuesday with a good buddy of mine… Mónica «the teacher» was awesome very attentive and suggestive. Had a great time.

Coming into a dive bar, I know you can’t have high expectations, but they can deliver you a good time with friends.
Stepping into Kelley’s, I was expecting such, only to be disappointed by a very rude bartender. Rude being the nicest word I could use without being obscene. Even by dive bar standards, never have I had a worst experience attempting to order a drink. She was slow even when the bar was empty. Wasted a lot of time trying to be flashy when opening beer bottles. Multiple times showed attitude to customers when ordering a mix drink.
Speaking of mix drinks, she claimed to know how to make every drink, which was a lie. The drinks she claimed she did know, as I watched her prepare them, were made wrong or were missing ingredients. Yet I still would tip her good, hoping that her attitude would change, and lighten up a little, but didn’t.
Overall my experience would have been completely different minus the bartender. Kelley’s has potential, but with a bartender handling customer the way she was, gives me no choice but to give this place a one. I really wanted to like this place, but was impossible to do so.
Don’t waste your time and money at this place.

So we went into Kellys when did this place turn into a dank dumpy dive bar? The bartender was a rude attendant. Men pee with the door open and the bartender is fine with this practice and was put out when we informed him of these low class pigs. Never again it’s bad enough they don’t stock the bar well and having to deal with a rude attendant is too much. Come here if you don’t care about cleanliness or low class people.

Ok, I know this place is kinda divey but come on! Only one bartender; a female with glasses. First off, I ordered a whiskey and diet in a tall glass for extra diet but apparently she didn’t understand that, something even an amateur bartender should. Second, she was eating pizza at the bar and putting her greasy hands all over customer drinks. When she wasn’t literally jamming pizza down her hole, she was outside smoking. No class. My boyfriend attempted to order a second round but her cigarette was more important than our business. We ended up going around the corner to another bar, glad we didn’t waste another dollar at Kelleys. By the way, this place is cash only. It’s a shame because I really wanted to like this place.

Inattentive and rather rude to customers. Don’t use your cell phone while sitting at the bar or you’ll be yelled at. They do not accept out of state ID’s. They are clearly in violation of the Full Faith and Credit Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

I came here because Unilocal said it had the best Irish car bombs and yes it did! Walked in on 08÷24÷15 around 4pm and they had a few customers bartender right away asked what we were having. Drinks were great when I couldn’t decide she gave me a drink book they have in the back and I picked a random drink it tasted great! It is cash only its a hole in a wall place but will definitely come back service was fast and drinks were on point!

The place is great for day drinking evening drinking night drinking what ever the regulars are nice and the staff is very personal better then the rest of hipster watering holes in the area

Popped in for a couple of drinks before heading over to ²⁰⁄₂₀ since they don’t open till 2 (read my review) nice casual place, bring cash, service was good, should’ve stayed there. Can’t beet $ 3 cold beers (bottled) will go back for sure!

Vodka tonics and Irish car bombs are delicious.

This bar sucks! The manager is rude and the bartenders are over rated.
Plenty of other good places to go to than this place.

Kelley’s Tavern is great!!!

Kelley’s is not my neighborhood bar, since I live on the Westside, but it’s one of my best friend’s neighborhood bar, so we still end up here quite often.
The vodka tonics are always cold and delicious and strong, and the jukebox has a great selection that keeps us singing along all night. Also, the bartenders are really nice and always take a moment to talk with us. What’s not to love about Kelley’s? Oh, there is one little thing. .. I wish Kelley’s would get an air conditioner! During the summer it gets downright swampy in there.
To cope, we belly up to the bar and drink several icy cocktails.

The downside to this place is:
1. They only have one bartender… so be prepared to be ignored for a while, luckily when I’ve shown up I get a spot right at the bar so getting drinks is not too challenging.
2. It’s cash only, they do have an ATM though
3. Bartender can be a bit rude.
4. I did notice that the bartender controls the juke box so if there’s a song that’s playing and they don’t like it… yup, she’ll skip it. Sucks for the person who wasted money trying to listen to a song that she didn’t like.
Other than that, it’s a pretty cool little place to hang out.

Oh, I have stumbled upon some females who get liquid courage so be cautious.

I’ve had one of the best times I’ll never remember here.
It’s not a 5 star type of place but some nights you stumble upon a good time. They don’t have much to choose from but it does the trick. Don’t expect beers on tap, or a brewery variety. One thing I don’t like is that they serve drinks in small plastic cups almost at prices you’ll find at a restaurant. Makes me think «I could have gotten this drink elsewhere in a bigger glass for about the same price».
Point is I have become fond of this place because of that one great experience I had here. One of the security guards has always been welcoming and hospitable towards me, so I try to go on Saturdays when he’s there because he’s cool. Like I said, on certain nights this place turns out to be worth it.

Awesome Local dive bar located in the heart of Downey. They have a small beer selection but the ambiance and prices they have here are off the hook!
Mixed drinks are $ 5 all night long! Beers are $ 3.50!!! I’ve been coming here since I was 21. Regular walk in with me and some friends. Just recently came back for a drink or two. Friendly bar tenders, friendly people and plenty of places to hang out afterwards. Plenty of food places to eat after and a new club that just opened next door.
Definitely will come back for a $ 5 mixed Jack and Coke! ;)

Literally here for less than 30 minutes.
Here with my gf and her friends. I guess I should expect creepers everwhere now.
Besides that, the bar is damn near impossibly small. I don’t know if its a Downey thing but this bar only accepted cash.
Lame.
We left without grabbing a drink. Maybe next time.
