Definitely my favorite pizza place around. The pizza is so good and so are the poppers. Every person I have interacted with here has been extremely friendly. Love love love the lunch special they have.

Had gone to Barone’s for years — this last time we ordered will be the last! Our order included pizza and 3 salads — to go. The pizza was good as always. However the salads were not washed properly and one of them had wet dirt (mud) in several pieces of the lettuce. It was disgusting. Phoned only to find the manager ‘had just left’. I returned to the restaurant with the salad. «I don’t know how that happened» was the response. I got a refund for the salad and when I phoned later to speak to the owner, Ted Kourafas, he acted like it was no big deal. No apology, just another, «I don’t know how that happened».

I’ve driven past Barone’s countless times but never stopped in. When my parents were in town, we decided to check it out. At Barone’s, you place your order at the counter, and they bring out your pizzas when they are done. The employee at the counter was a very personable young woman who answered our questions patiently and thoroughly, and even gave us permission to control the HDTV on the wall with the remote.
When the pizza arrived, it was cut into rectangular pub-​style slices. The cheese was plentiful, molten-​lave hot (in a good way), and stretchy. Two of the three of us liked the sauce a lot (the other would have preferred it a bit sweeter), but we all agreed that the pizza was good here.
I’m glad I stopped in at Barone’s, and I plan to do so again.

This place has really good pizza… their service is exact opposite. On multiple occasions they have screwed up my order and refused to deliver to my home.
The first time they gave me the wrong order on pick up… called me to let me know that they screwed up the order and then asked that we drive the 20 minutes back to their restaurant to pick up the correct order… refusing to deliver their mistake.
Then, 4 times after this incident they refused deliver to my house even though they have delivered to me several time in the past. It seems they only want to deliver when it is convenient for them.
I am extremely disappointed in their service… especially being a frequent customer. Today when I called for delivery they refused to deliver again and then lied about when they close by 20 minutes. I love their pizza but they have lost my business.

Great beef sandwich. A must in ILLINOIS. I have to say never had a beef sandwich in any other state. Not sure why, these things are great. you just have to find the place that suits you best and has great beef. I tried the meat ball sandwich one time and the meatballs were so freaking big! I did enjoy the enormous meatball sandwich either way. Good food nice people.

We love this place!!! There aren’t too many pizza places that also deliver burgers, pastas, chicken, and/​or family size dinners.
If you’re not in the mood to cook, have Barones deliver the family meal at an affordable price.

Love this place, and they deliver to Lisle from Downers, which is AWESOME. Whenever we have a taste for good pasta, we always order from here. Their eggplant Parmesan is awesome! Try their minestrone soup, it’s really really good! We have never tried their pizza, so i can’t give a good review on that. this is really good, i would suggest it to anyone!

We have ordered from here twice. Granted I have not had their pizza and the food tasted fine, almost everything we ordered was wrong.
The first time I got the pepper and egg and added bacon and the hubby got the Italian sandwich. His sandwich was right but he thought they used too much balsamic vinaigrette. Mine didn’t have bacon but it was good so we thought we try again.
A few days later we ordered with my brother. I got the Philly which was right but it was more like in Italian beef than a Philly. I didn’t like it as a Philly, but it would have been fine a regular beef. The hubby got the same thing as last time with the balsamic vinaigrette on the side, it came with it on and the sandwich was soggy. My brother ordered the Italian beef with cheese, it came with no cheese.
The food seems like it would be really good for the most part if they could just it get it right, but I don’t know if we’ll bother ordering it again.

We decided to have a small gathering at our house before heading off to a Bulls game. I called Barone’s 3 hours in advance to see if they could whip up a pan of Mostaciolli, a big Salad and pizzas. They politely asked if they could check with the kitchen and then confirmed they could do it.
The food was ready on time, hot and delicious. It was reasonably priced and everyone loved it. I was really impressed.
We will be calling them for catering again soon.

This Downers Grove Restaurant also boasts other specialties including ribs, Italian beef and sandwiches. The menu is very diverse and can offer anyone a dish they would like. Catering and delivery are available to local Downers Grove Homes as well.

Delicious deep dish pizza! I dream of this stuff when I’m back home in Oregon. The crust is buttery, dense and substantive. The cheese, oh how it oozes. And the bright, chunky and generously served tomato sauce is the crowning glory. I wish I could bring a whole pizza back with me on the plane. I probably wouldn’t be able to carry it — those suckers are heavy!
