Stumbled upon this place after Peet’s coffee which is across the train station. We wanted to try some pizza because why not? We ordered 2 slices and went outside to eat. It was such a beautiful day too! The lady quickly gave us our 2 slices for $ 5.50 total — Pretty good! The pizza was greasy but tasted really good! No sogginess what so ever, a nice crunchy crust, pepperoni everywhere on that pizza and the cheese and sauce ratio was perfect. Although a similar taste to Peter Pipers if you have eaten there before but better. I would definitely come here again if I’m wandering in that area again!

Aurelio’s is one of the best Chicagoland pizzas you can get! If you haven’t tried you must! They do not do deep dish only thin crust pizza which is fine because that’s what they are known for! It is located in Downtown Downers Grove near the Metra tracks next to the Tivoli Movie Theatre. Great location to grab a pizza after work or before a movie! The eat in area is very small with only two tables, perfect for a family or a couple friends wanting to grab a bite. The staff is friendly and hard working. Aurelio’s uses great ingredients and the crust has excellent flavor. I always make sure to stop and get a pizza everytime I’m in town! The owner is great and stays involved in the community as well.

My boyfriend and I always choose Aurelio’s pizza for our pizza choice when we want delivery and don’t want to go anywhere and have been coming here for YEARS. We buy from this location and the Oak Brook location. A while ago we ordered from the DG location and the delivery girl was extremely rude to my bf. She walked across our front lawn and was complaining about getting lost to our house.(*my bf and I always tell the receptionist on the phone to give the delivery person the major cross streets to our house so they don’t get lost*) Anyway, my bf was so upset on how rude this lady was he told me that he didn’t even want to tip her, but did anyway. Since we had that experience we just decided to call the Oak Brook location. Tonight bf & I had a busy day and decided to order pizza at 9:15PM. The Oak Brook location closes at 10PM so we went ahead and called the DG location since they are open until 11PM. We call, the receptionist has all of our info in their computer and takes down our order. The lady on the phone was about to take my credit card info but said, «You know what, let me see if we can deliver the pizza to your location because we close soon.» Lady gets back on the phone to say, «Sorry, we can’t deliver to you, it’s too far, and we close very soon.» Me, «You guys close at 11PM, we live 8 minutes away, and right now it’s 9:18PM.» Lady, «Yeah, sorry… the delivery guy says it’s too far at this time of night.» At that point, I’m extremely upset because you are basically saying, «We don’t want your business.» The lady then puts the manager on the phone after I ask. The«manager» doesn’t say ANYTHING when he gets on the phone with me except for, «Hey…» –silence– Me, «Are you the manager?» Manager, «Yeah…» Me, «Okay…well, I have an issue with you guys passing me up as a customer because it’s 9PM and you close at 11PM. We don’t live far at all.» Manager, «Well, if you were to order 2 large pizzas, it would be worth our while.» This«manager» was not professional and didn’t seem like he CARED! The manager and I went back n forth and mentioned that I wanted to talk to the owner. No one knew the owners info or GM, etc. until the manager said that the owner’s son was working. I talked to the owners son, who sounded a lot nicer and somewhat seemed like he cared, he wanted to make the pizza for us and deliver it but at that point my stomach had turned for the worst since I was so upset at how everyone treated us as a loyal customer. Long story short, the owners son gave us info on their GM named Cookie who will be at the restaurant tomorrow. I will definitely talk to her and see what she can do, but I honestly would like to speak with the owner to let him/her know what kind of employees they have running their shop. PS. Our location is 3.5 miles away, which translates to 8 minutes away…

A year and a half into living in Downers Grove and I’m still astounded by the fact that I can get more than«fast food pizza» delivered to my front door. That’s pretty damn amazing if you ask me, and so is Aurelio’s pizza. Generally it takes about 50 minutes from my call to the arrival of a fresh, steaming hot pie covered in delicious melty cheese and a crust with cooked on deliciousness. Aurelio’s is definitely my favorite pizza from the taste to the people who work there to the friendly delivery drivers. I haven’t got a single complaint.

I used to like eating here but when i accounted a horrible experience there i vowed never to eat there again! An employee there knew me and that didn’t excuse that he told me and I quote«Get the f*** out of here» when all I wanted to do was have a slice of pizza. He might have thought of it as a joke but it hit me hard and it showed me how terrible the customer service really was!

Aurelio’s in downers grove is literally one of the worst businesses I’ve ever dealt with in regards to an issue with an order. My wife ordered a few pizzas for the children she teaches. The delivery driver insisted my wife put her debit card information on a sheet of paper for him to take with him rather than just calling it in. This is totally unacceptable… even if we assume the driver did t have malicious intent, what if he lost the paper? What if another employee stole it from the garbage can after they disposed of it? You just don’t do that. In addition, the debit card was charged 100 dollars extra. The bill was roughly 200 the card was charged roughly 300. Again, when we brought this to their attention, they blamed us for putting a time in wrong on their online system. We have physical proof they are wrong and we sent it to them. No apology, no compensation for basically holding 100 dollars of our cash hostage and for taking our info on a piece of paper. Bottom line, you just shouldn’t give your money to this business. I spoke to the owner and he also didn’t apologize, he kept saying it was our fault. The guy was on vacation and just repeating back what his incompetent manager told him. Don’t spend money here!

I ordered one 18″ pizza and it was $ 35, so its pretty pricey although it does feed large parties(the 18″ is supposed to feed around 5 people). And as cheap as I am, this place still gets 5* because it was that damn good. We bought a half pepperoni/bacon, pepperoni/sausage. The pepperoni and sausage were excellent. Bacon was good too but I couldn’t tell it was there as much, pretty small. The flavors overall were really good, and the think crust was perfectly crunchy. Would highly recommend!

NEVER order from here! This is long, but it’s worth to read if I can save anyone from the ridiculous hassle I’ve experienced in the last week. I ordered two different orders of pizza for my students last week. They called me back to let me know that they didn’t believe my amount was enough, so I added more pizza to both orders and adjusted the time. However, when she searched for one of my orders, she couldn’t find it. I gave her the confirmation number from the online order, and she said, «Yeah, we don’t know those numbers.» I should have been tipped off right there. Once I reordered, I asked her if I could just pay for the difference over the phone, and she said it would be reflected on my receipt. Once the driver came with the first set of pizzas, he tells me there’s no receipt, proceeds to rip off a scrap of paper from someone else’s receipt, and asks me to have my credit card and all my information. I explained to him that I was very uncomfortable with this, as my info is open for anyone, and I then ask if I could call the store to get it run there. He gets short, sighs, and talks over me while I’m trying to take care of it saying: «Well, we are professional; you have to pay for it with a card; I assure you it’s fine.» Famous last words. He made me feel so bad(which I understand that I didn’t have to cave, but I wanted to pay for product I ordered), that I hung up and handed him my number. Even me explaining that yes, I do always give my number to businesses, but they are usually kept anonymous or covered with **** on the receipts, he pushed. After the day was done, I receive a phone call at about 10:35 pm from them. I was asleep, but when I checked the next day, they pulled out 100 dollars more than the amount of pizza I ordered. I send an email through the system explaining that now I’m upset. I was PUSHED to give my number in a fashion that was quite unprofessional, made to feel bad about it, and then my fears are confirmed when they took money that wasn’t authorized. And it’s A LOT of money. The next day, I receive a call from the manager of the store, Cookie. She never apologizes and states that it’s MY fault, since the order online was for 10:35 pm. I get the feeling when the worker couldn’t find my order the first day, she put it through again, but SHE put it for pm. So they took out their money for the pizza, but then the online order went through too. Here’s why that doesn’t make sense: *According to the girl on the phone who said I didn’t need to have the amount adjusted on the phone, that doesn’t go through until pizza is delivered and authorized. * The amount online was for 75 dollars, not 100. * I have the email confirmation from Aurelio’s site that states that it was 11:30 am, not pm. * Even if it was my mistake, which it wasn’t, some sort of apology for the situation would be great. I would have even settled for a coupon for a pizza or something because the fact that I was out 100 dollars is RIDICULOUS. Again, let’s remember that the driver pushed for my number, and they did, in fact, take money that wasn’t theirs. Feeling a little uncomfortable with how it was handled, coupled with seeing proof after the call that I did NOT place the order in the PM, I called back to speak to Cookie. I was told she wasn’t in. My husband decided to call back immediately, and she answered. That’s not to say she wasn’t there when I called, but it was interesting. When my husband asked for the owner’s name and number, Cookie asked three times if she could help, but my husband kept pushing, despite her not wanting to give it over. She then said he was out of town, which was fine. He told her he was willing to wait until Monday to hear from him. I wasn’t a fan of her tone with him, but since that’s perspective, I’ll stick to the facts. The owner, Greg, calls back and here are his responses: * I’m sorry you’re upset(which is not really an apology or accepting ownership). * Well, you DID get your pizza(which I paid for… so what about the other 100 dollars)? * The drive HAD to take your information or else how would you pay for the pizza(yes, but in a computer, the number isn’t just open for someone to steal or charge more than was approved… which ACTUALLYHAPPENED). * Well, the computer said that it was PM(when I said that I can prove to him that I didn’t order it then), well that’s what OUR side said. He said he’d call Monday. After we hung up, the place called 3 times, hanging up 2 times, saying they wanted me to pay for a party pizza order that I didn’t place! They were quick to try to get my husband off the phone when he tried to figure out if they were going to charge us. They called again after and hung up again. Never called — Instead, Cookie emails me and tells me again how it was my fault for putting in the order in PM. Their money cleared, and almost a week later, I still have 100 dollars I can’t access. NEVERORDERFROMTHISPLACE.

We had pasta with alfredo sauce, Cesar salad, and the original sandwich. The original sandwich was stuffed like a hot dog with salami, ham, and their special beef slices. The sandwich was very dry, and unfortunately had little to no taste compared with the average deli meat obtained from the grocery store. Bread was also soggy from heat of condensation as well as juices from meat. The salad was super salty, I guess from the parma cheese, but the over all taste was your typical caesar salad. It should be pointed out that this place is not meant to be for sit downs, as we were served plastic utensils, and paper plates. If you do come here stick to the pizza. Otherwise avoid the rest of the menu.

Always like the pizza but the service is horrible called in the pizza order 45 minutes ago and then when I got there she gave me an excuse that the pizza driver did not show up then I am waiting in the car to pick up the pizza and the delivery driver shows up and goes with his case into the restaurant I guess she lied to me she was sitting there talking with her girlfriends when I walked in and the pizza was not even started so I had to come back again 15 minutes later to pick up the pizza

Aurelio’s is a downtown Downers Grove institution with a super convenient location next to the Tivoli Theater and Downers Grove train station. I grew up in Downers Grove, so when I come home to visit my parents — we alternate between Aurelio’s(the thin crust), Angelo’s(the thin crust, on the south side of the tracks), Girodano’s(the stuffed pizza), and Lou Malnati’s(deep dish). You’ll like Aurelio’s thin crust pizza if you like a crispy cracker-like crust and a generous amount of cheese, toppings and italian spices(oregano?) on top. Very flavorful pizza. The cheese is «just melted»(I prefer my cheese to be golden bubbly) which creates sort of a mushy top. The pizza tastes great reheated the next day in a pan(but in the microwave, the crust disappears and it’s all squishy like you’re eating mouthfuls of cheese). Go ahead, order a pizza, and pick it up on your way through downtown. Not the cheapest, not the best pizza, but certainly tasty.

Holy face of Dick Cheney’s friend, Batman! The pizza is off the charts! I’d been looking for a decent pie in the Westmont/Downer’s Grove area and one of my wonderful students tried telling me about this place called Aurelio’s… I didn’t believe her… I usually do not trust young adults so much as to believe that their life experiences are sufficient enough to include dining at an appropriate number of pizza establishments in order to establish a proper baseline of truly good pizza. With that said, I am ashamed. After many months of disbelief, I finally caved and ordered one of their cheesy delights… Remarkable to say the least. To say the most: The stuffed spinach was soooo freakin great! Filled with garlic, cheese, spinach, a sauce that is boss, and love. The crust is soft and doughy but firm. You can’t eat this without a fork(if I ever meet Jon Stewart… watch out, now!) I was so impressed with their work, I ordered some more the following week. This time we repeated the stuffed spinach but now added a thin crust cheese pizza… Oh Mah God If you, as I, did not think a simple thin cheese pizza could ever beat a stuffed spinach pie… you, my friend, are dead wrong. The garlic(again with the garlic!) seemed to be infused into the cheese and the cheese… I said, «THECHEESE»… how can a cheese be so fantastic? Golden brown, firm but melted and chewy… This was BYFAR the best mother loving cheese pizza I have EVER had… EVER. I was kinda sad that I stuffed my gut with the spinach before I even tasted the cheesers. I could start rattling of pizzeria’s I’ve been in but it wouldn’t be fair to compare them to Aurelio’s. They f#@ked it up for everybody. The bar has been raised… who’s next? Did someone say,“bar”…

I ordered 3 pies for a birthday party and all 3 were very dry and too salty. Even kids didn’t want to eat it, how terrible it was. We will avoid this place by all means. P. S. I usually do not review, had to sign in to put my 2 cents. Hope this helps

Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to try any of the food on their menu. I brought up the website on my laptop and decided on the 1 – 2 size cheese ravioli that comes with salad or soup and bread, mozzarella sticks, and a 2 liter. A very nice woman answered the phone and took my order but told me the salad that comes with my order doesn’t really come with my order because I have to pay for it separately. That is wrong. You can’t advertise one thing on your website and make people pay a separate price when they order. That is fraud. I’m not looking to get anything for free. I just wanted what your website said came with the order. I cancelled my order because if I can’t trust them to advertise honestly, how can I trust the food being prepared by them?

This pizza shop is too cute. It’s old school and I saw someone in the kitchen actually punch a time sheet.(Whoa.) My fiancée and I each had a slice and drink for under 12 bucks. The pizza is flavorful. They have two tables for dining in and they’re right next to a big picture window that looks out onto the Metra train station.

I feel bad giving a one star since its a DG staple and their thin crust is pretty good for those who like a sweeter sauce. I just cant give over a one star for how nasty their stuffed is. Seriously… did someone lose the recipe?!? Super soggy, waaaaay too much sauce, so gross. No cohesiveness at all… tasted like a bowl of spaghetti with smashed up bread. Please take this off the menu.

Coworker needed some pizzas for a work lunch, so he sent us here — — naturally wanted something better than just a «chain» pizza for the clients. This location opened up at 11, so we only had to wait a minute or two and then went inside to order. Small location inside w a few tables, but i liked that they already had some slices to go available right at opening. We ordered probably like 9 pizzas or so and then just waited inside. But I couldn’t wait, so naturally got a slice right away — — i think it was sausage & cheese. Very good! The crust was perfect… not too thick, nor thin. And…if you order pizza for take out there’s a cute little Aurelio’s pizza shield you can punch out.(or not)
